Chapter 991 Do You Remember Me
"Daisy was released?"
Diana listened angrily and kept asking.
"It is indeed her."
Alfred had to confirm this.
Diana's face instantly turned cold. "I don't want to see her."
"Yes."
Alfred immediately turned to decline.
However, Eloise and Arabella still looked displeased. Arabella couldn't help but say irritably, "If she's out, she should stay at home. Why come here?"
Eloise sighed and then said, "She probably thinks that being locked up for a few days means she did us a favor. She doesn't realize how much trouble she caused."
"I think we should just ignore their family from now on. A girl chasing a married man is bad enough, but continuing after marriage? She deserved to go to jail."
Diana also said.
Victoria just listened to them talking but didn't understand a word.
"But how did they find this place?"
Arabella was also puzzled.
They usually went to the Harrington Mansion. Why did they come here today?
Victoria was still recovering from old injuries and now had new ones. What were they here for?
To watch the drama?
They weren't even worthy.
Eloise drank the coffee Victoria brought and couldn't help but hold her hand, gently stroking it. "I think we should ignore the Bryant family from now on."
"Don't worry, I'll make it clear to them that we don't owe them anything."
Arabella said.
Eloise nodded after hearing this.
She always trusted Arabella to handle things.
Besides, Daisy's initial torment was arranged by Isabella. Their family just went along with it to draw out the real culprit.
Now that Daisy's name was cleared, she should know not to cause trouble. After all, Daisy had done too many bad things, and going to jail was her karma.
After Alfred said they wouldn't see them, Daisy and Jerome had to leave, but Daisy couldn't help but cry.
"Alright, stop crying. This is your ordeal."
"Why should this be my ordeal? What did I do wrong? Why did I suffer so much for no reason?"
Daisy asked while wiping her tears.
Jerome, sitting beside her, looked at her aggrieved face and said, "What did you do wrong? If you hadn't provoked Isabella, would she have known so much about you? If she didn't know, how could she have done this to you?"
She had been in jail for a while, and the scars on her face hadn't healed yet.
Daisy listened, tears streaming down, "I was suffering for Victoria. What Isabella did to me should have been done to Victoria."
Daisy was wrapped up tightly because her burns hadn't healed yet.
Many scars, if not treated in time, would become permanent. And she was thrown into jail just a few days after the incident.
She shouldn't have suffered this.
"Jerome, we're at the Cook Mansion."
"Why are we at the Cook Mansion? I don't want to go back."
"This is where Elliot's parents live now. You can stay here safely. Elliot won't dare cause trouble here."
"Dad, no, I don't want to be the Cook family's daughter-in-law anymore. I want a divorce."
"Divorce now? Didn't I tell you this marriage was to protect you?"
Daisy reluctantly closed her mouth.
Why did she make such a big sacrifice and still couldn't enter the Harrington family mansion?
Why did she make such a big sacrifice and still have to return to the Cook family?
She thought of Alexander's cold and arrogant back. She thought that after she sacrificed for him, he would treat her well.
She could only get out of the car because being in the Cook family gave her a legitimate excuse.
Jerome watched Daisy leave and then told the driver to go back to the company.
"Mr. Bryant, Ms. Bryant is quite pitiful."
"It's because her mother and I spoiled her that she caused so much trouble. She'd better learn to be low-key from now on."
Jerome felt he should let Daisy learn to take responsibility for herself.
He knew he couldn't ignore her, but he couldn't handle everything for her either.
He regretted visiting Victoria today, thinking it was inappropriate.
Alexander wasn't home, and their visit would only make him suspicious.
Jerome originally wanted to please Alexander.
Now, thinking about it, Jerome realized he had acted too hastily.
Jerome took out his phone to call Alexander, but then put it back in his pocket.
Yes, he couldn't rush things.
Before Alexander got off work, Edward came to see him. "How's Victoria?"
"A bit better."
Alexander thought for a moment and replied seriously.
"I was worried she'd mistake you for a client and wanted to remind you not to rush."
Alexander's brow immediately furrowed.
Edward observed his expression and awkwardly pursed his lips.
He felt he had guessed correctly.
Alexander later glanced at his watch and then said, "If there's nothing else, you can go."
"How about we set a time to have a meal together?"
"Not for now."
Alexander replied.
"We thought that if she joined our big family more, she might see you as a good person."
Alexander rolled his eyes in frustration.
What did he mean by seeing him as a good person?
But Edward's guess was indeed correct.
She saw him as a villain, but she had only been back for a few days. He wanted her to adapt to the family environment first.
As for outsiders, besides Diana and Olivia, he hadn't let anyone else visit her at home.
She couldn't see anything now and could barely hear. He didn't want too many people to scare her.
"Alright, I'll leave then."
Seeing his lack of interest, Edward got up to leave.
But at the door, he suddenly turned back, "Alexander."
Alexander looked at him.
"Take care of yourself."
Edward finally said.
Alexander's stern face suddenly showed a helpless smile, signaling him to leave quickly.
Everyone was worried about him; he knew that.
But now, besides Victoria, he didn't want to care about anyone else.
In the evening, when he got home, Alfred told him about Jerome and Daisy's visit. As he handed his coat to Alfred, he only asked, "Did Victoria hear?"
"She probably didn't. Mrs. Arabella Harrington and Mrs. Eloise Harrington were there, and it seemed Mrs. Victoria Harrington didn't hear much of their conversation."
"Okay."
Alexander walked inside, learning she was in the bathroom washing her hands, preparing for dinner, so he went over.
Victoria didn't hear him until she felt a familiar force behind her. She stopped washing her hands, bending over in panic and silence.
"Tori, I'm home."
He wrapped his arms around her slender waist and said.
Victoria's breath caught, and she twisted slightly, only to be held tighter.
Her waist was so thin that he had to hold her tightly to feel her warmth. He looked at her side profile and murmured, "Do you remember me?"
