Chapter 987 Don't Be Afraid, I Won't Hurt You

Victoria trembled as she listened to the low voice, "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."

Would he not hurt her?

When she first arrived at that place, those people said the same thing to her.

But soon, she was subjected to torture.

Of course, it wasn't just her.

Several girls were locked in a room together, and at first, Victoria heard many screams.

She heard that one girl tried to escape and ended up killing herself.

But those people said they had seen many dead bodies, and if they died, they would just turn to ashes.

"We're going home, Tori, we're going home."

Victoria vaguely recognized that the person was talking about going home. Was this her home?

Ridiculous, she was brought here from far away.

She could hear those people talking, saying she was brought back from abroad.

She had no parents, no relatives.

But she felt she should say she had relatives.

She always dreamed of a face, small and innocent, always smiling at her.

That cute smiling face was her only light.

Right, what about that little girl?

Victoria knew there was a little girl; she was holding her when she came back.

Maybe the little girl had gone to sleep; she must be his daughter.

And then?

He let his daughter see a strange woman?

And he was being so intimate with her here?

Victoria couldn't imagine what the little girl's mother.

Could it be that he had already killed the little girl's mother?

Would she be next? But his methods were different.

What was he waiting for?

Waiting for her to surrender?

That deep well?

No, it was a fish tank.

Victoria thought several times that she would die in there.

But she survived.

She wanted to end her life quietly.

End everything.

After all, the dead would just turn to ashes.

But she was bought.

Victoria didn't know when she learned to swim; at first, she struggled in the water.

But she couldn't see or hear clearly, only feeling herself swimming desperately but never escaping that place, constantly bumping into things until she later knew what it was and finally stopped struggling.

Today was the only time someone jumped in to bring her out.

The words he whispered in her ear.

Her eyes reddened, feeling his tight embrace, but she didn't actions, so she didn't move.

For several days, it was like this.

He bathed her every night, slept with her, came back to eat with her, and gave her some medicine, said to be for treatment and nourishment, which she took.

He seemed very busy, constantly receiving phone calls and then disappearing.

Then, the girl came.

Victoria remembered those hands, slender and tender.

"Victoria, I'm Diana. Do you not remember me? Can't you see at all?"

Diana would still instinctively wave her hand in front of Victoria's eyes.

Victoria would try to smile.

"Tori, I'm Olivia. Don't you remember me either?"

So, two girls came today.

Victoria listened intently, really trying to listen carefully.

These girls spoke differently from those who managed her; they weren't fierce, even showing some pity.

She thought these two girls might be good people.

Were they also bullied like the girls in there?

No, they should be much happier.

Victoria listened quietly to their conversation, trying to smile.

But she didn't know if she did it well because she didn't even know what she looked like now.

"How did you end up in that place? How did they torture you to the point where you can't see or hear?"

Olivia and Diana asked Victoria this with tears in their eyes.

Victoria had changed.

Victoria was like a blank sheet of paper, easily seen through.

"Ms. Harrington, Ms. Baker, please have some coffee."

Jenny brought coffee and fruits for them.

Olivia picked up a strawberry and brought it to Victoria, "Tori, this is your favorite strawberry."

Strawberry?

Such a familiar name.

Olivia felt a pang in her heart, seeing no reaction in Victoria's eyes, realizing she had forgotten Victoria couldn't see.

"Those people have been brought to justice, and those girls have been freed."

Olivia said slowly as she placed the strawberry in Victoria's hand.

Victoria listened, finally feeling relieved.

So that place was gone.

Victoria had heard Alexander on the phone before, but she couldn't hear the content clearly, and he wouldn't explain it to her, so she was always in doubt.

Now, hearing Olivia's words, Victoria nodded quietly.

Olivia and Diana were both surprised and delighted to see Victoria nod.

"Victoria, can you hear us?"

Diana asked Victoria excitedly.

"If you can hear, nod your head."

Olivia reminded Victoria didn't move.

Victoria then slowly nodded again.

Victoria wasn't completely deaf.

Her left ear was much better than her right.

"That's great, you can hear. You scared me. Do you know how worried we were? Do you know how Alexander searched for you? He almost went crazy."

Diana suddenly hugged Victoria, tears streaming down as she spoke.

Diana's heart ached too much; everyone had been pretending to be calm, but their hearts were in pain.

Olivia also wiped her tears silently, then saw Victoria holding the strawberry without moving.

After Diana finished crying, Olivia took Victoria's hand to her mouth, "This is a fruit to eat."

Victoria smelled a fragrant scent.

Her sense of smell had become very good.

She took a bite of the strawberry; it was fragrant and sweet.

Olivia saw Victoria eating and then started eating with Diana.

Victoria knew it was a fruit; she just didn't know if she could eat it.

After all, during that time, she had to be reminded to eat.

They couldn't eat randomly, or they would be beaten.

Right, these past two days, that man named Harrington had been applying medicine to her body, and she smelled a cool scent from it.

Olivia and Diana reintroduced themselves to Victoria.

They said one was her sister-in-law, and the other was her best friend.

Did she have such relationships?

Victoria found it unbelievable, hard to believe.

But their voices sounded kind.

They kept talking, and Victoria listened intermittently.

Did she have family and friends?

Did she have a career?

Career, what was that?

In Victoria's mind, a career was abstract.

It wasn't that she didn't understand, but she didn't trust it.

She was just an abandoned, imprisoned object.

Those people said she was too ugly, with many scars on her body.

No one even wanted to touch her; they didn't even take off her clothes, disgusted by her scars.

How did she get those scars?

Victoria thought silently, wanting to ask but not knowing how.

Later, they left, and Victoria reluctantly got up to see them off, then heard someone shout, "Mr. Harrington is back."

Victoria's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly turned and walked inside.

"Victoria, be careful."
