Chapter 929 She Said Isabella Was Released from Prison
Victoria felt her ears burning from Alexander's ambiguous words.
Besides, who would dare to bully him?
Anyone who dared to bully him would be in serious trouble, wouldn't they?
But if she were bullied, who would fight for her?
Victoria thought for a while and then dismissed the idea. She had long given up on the fantasy that someone would fight for her.
"My life is yours too," Alexander murmured.
"I don't want your life."
"Even if you don't want it, it's yours."
Victoria was exhausted and was about to fall asleep, but she was forced to wake up.
She hadn't slept by four in the morning, fearing he would lose his mind when he woke up. She took the chance to sneak back to the master bedroom while he was asleep.
In the morning, Strawberry woke up and started babbling incoherently.
Victoria barely opened her eyes. Strawberry's eyes sparkled like clear water, and when she suddenly smiled, it was impossible to look away. Victoria reached out to touch Strawberry's hair, and Strawberry immediately rolled into Victoria's arms, "Mommy."
"Good morning, baby."
Victoria gently kissed Strawberry on the forehead.
A familiar voice suddenly came from behind. She was holding Strawberry, but turned her head to look.
She saw him wearing a clean white shirt and black trousers, hands in his pockets, leaning against the bathroom door with an unhappy expression.
Victoria suddenly remembered sneaking back to the master bedroom to sleep with Strawberry a few hours ago while he was asleep. She felt guilty for a while, then lay back down, coaxing Strawberry.
She finally understood why she woke up to Strawberry's constant babbling. Strawberry was reminding her that Alexander was here.
Alexander walked over, sat behind Victoria, and looked at her for a few seconds. Seeing that Victoria showed no sign of guilt, he leaned in, hugged her shoulders, and grumbled, "You use me and then leave immediately. Is that all I'm good for now?"
Victoria frowned.
He spoke as if he were the one at a loss.
She didn't intend to use him; he insisted on making love to her, and it almost made her pass out.
"You were complaining in bed that you couldn't take it anymore. How come you could run away as soon as I fell asleep?"
"Strawberry is here."
Victoria just wanted to interrupt him to prevent him from saying anything more strange.
"Let's see if I trust you again."
Alexander murmured, cupping Victoria's face and kissing her hard on the lips.
Victoria instinctively kept her lips tightly closed. This time, he didn't force it because Strawberry was staring at them with her big eyes.
Alexander stood up, "Strawberry, come here. I'll take you downstairs to play."
As soon as Strawberry saw him extend his hand, she immediately crawled over.
Victoria lay there watching them leave the room. Her phone rang, and she quickly got up to answer it.
"What happened to you last night?" Hearing Diana's hoarse voice, Victoria couldn't help but ask.
"Nothing, just failed to seduce Curtis and ended up catching a cold."
"Remember to take your medicine. Besides, some things can't be rushed, right?" Victoria reminded her.
"What do you mean?"
"Anyway, he already knows you live next door. Be a bit indifferent to him recently and see how he reacts." Victoria pondered and suggested.
Diana got up from bed, "Alright, I feel like punching him every time I see him lately."
"Why don't you come stay with us for a few days?"
"Good idea. I happen to want to experiment."
"What experiment?"
"I'll keep it a secret for now."
Diana hung up the phone, packed her suitcase, and left.
Curtis saw her carrying a large suitcase and asked, "There's not much in there, is there?"
Diana snorted, carrying the suitcase down the stairs, but ended up bumping her leg.
She was wearing a short skirt, and her calf turned red immediately, which Curtis noticed.
"Ms. Harrington, someone like you doesn't even have someone to carry your luggage?"
He said as he took the suitcase and walked towards the door.
Diana's expression showed some pleasure, but she pretended to be arrogant, "My family introduced me to a young talent. I'm moving in with him for a while to check him out. Don't be surprised if you don't see me around."
Curtis didn't say anything as he watched her drag the suitcase to the car and open the trunk, only to find it full.
Diana crossed her arms, standing in her high heels, glaring at the full trunk. She cursed under her breath and instinctively looked back at Curtis.
"How about I help you ship it?" he offered.
"No, just throw it in the trash for me," Diana snapped, pushing the suitcase away and getting into the car.
"It's better not to drive in high heels," Curtis reminded her.
"Mind your girlfriend," Diana retorted, looking up at him before driving off.
Curtis stood there, knowing how recklessly she drove, much like her personality.
After she left, he turned to look at the suitcase. Throw it in the trash?
Why should he listen to an ex-girlfriend?
Diana planned to go to the Harrington Mansion for a meal, but her phone rang.
Daisy was relentless. Diana guessed she wanted to stir trouble between her and Victoria, but she answered out of boredom, "Ms. Bryant, what is it now?"
"Isabella is released from prison."
"What?"
The car screeched to a halt by the roadside.
They met at a café later.
Daisy remarked, "Isabella must be released. Otherwise, why would she refuse to see me?"
"You're saying she's released just because she refused to see you?"
"Yes," Daisy replied immediately.
Isabella was too cunning. If she weren't out, she would have met Daisy.
Diana felt something was off.
She thought she knew Isabella well enough.
"You have to believe me. The first thing Isabella will do is seek revenge on Victoria. Just wait and see."
Diana's heart skipped a beat.
Anything concerning Victoria couldn't be taken lightly.
She would never let Victoria get hurt in their family again.
As long as Victoria was part of the Harrington family, she would be under their protection.
Diana thought, taking a sip of her coffee.
She needed to ask Alexander about this.
"I went to see Mr. Harrington, but he wouldn't see me, even when I told him about Isabella's release. Diana, do you think he doesn't care about Victoria, or..."
"What?" Diana asked, holding her coffee, not pleased.
Diana was unhappy because she knew Daisy wouldn't say anything good next.
"Mr. Harrington wants Victoria in trouble."
Daisy's voice lowered, her eyes fixed on Diana.
Diana smiled wryly.
She hadn't expected Daisy to have a conspiracy against Victoria.
People can be unpredictable, wonder Victoria didn't want to stay in the city.
If it were her, she'd be annoyed too. But she would stay and deal with these people.
Victoria wasn't the type to stand out, so she wouldn't do it, but Diana would.
"I heard Elliot slept with your lover? Your family is quite lively."
"What?"
Daisy was about to drink her coffee, but froze, staring at Diana.
"What? You didn't know, do you?" Diana asked.
Daisy was fuming, unable to calm down.
That bastard Elliot.
But how did Diana know about this?
"It's not surprising you didn't know. There are many things you don't know. Elliot is just one of my lackeys. Of course, not everyone can have him as a lackey, like you."
"Diana, I don't know why you're insulting me. We're on the same side, both wanting Mr. Harrington to be well."
"Don't say that. We're not on the same side."
