Chapter 882 He Said, Victoria, She Looks a Lot Like You
"Call Victoria right now and explain everything to her yourself."
Alexander looked up and stared seriously at Brett.
Alexander's expression was full of resentment, but his eyelids quickly drooped.
"I'm not calling."
Alexander said immediately.
"Are you going to call or not?"
Brett stood up angrily, pointing at Alexander threateningly.
Alexander softened his tone, "It's not that I don't want to call her, but she doesn't want to be part of the Harrington family anymore. Is there any point in me making this call?"
"Why doesn't she want to be part of the Harrington family? Are you going to call or not? If you don't call, I'll call her. You better behave; if you dare say something hurtful, you'll regret it!"
"Speak properly. Arabella isn't home, and no one can stop Brett from getting physical."
Eloise subtly signaled to Alexander.
Alexander looked like he was being forced into a corner, but his downcast eyes were already boiling with emotion.
It was early in the morning, and he calculated the time difference. Victoria shouldn't be busy.
Victoria and Arabella had no idea about this. When Victoria received the video call from Brett, she instinctively straightened her back, put her hands off the keyboard, and answered, holding her phone with both hands, "Grandpa."
"Victoria, hold on. Alexander has something to say to you."
Brett put the call on speaker and then stepped away from the couch.
Alexander stared at the phone screen on the table.
From a distance, he couldn't see clearly, but did he need to?
He remembered every detail about Victoria vividly.
"Victoria, hold on. I'll call him over."
"Grandma, what's going on?"
"I told Alexander to talk to you. Aren't you coming over?"
The last sentence was directed at Alexander by Eloise, but it made Victoria anxious.
Later, Eloise made an excuse to leave the living room. The two of them stood in the corner, watching the living room.
Alexander glanced at them, then was fiercely glared at by Brett, forcing him to speak, "Last night, I hosted a drinking party, and it made the headlines."
"Okay."
Hearing Alexander's voice, Victoria's mind went blank.
This was such a sudden and inexplicable statement.
Why did he need to tell her this?
She was already abroad.
And Strawberry was with her.
Victoria had been quite happy these past few days, except for worrying that Arabella might take Strawberry away.
"No one wanted to sing, so we called over two girls."
Victoria felt a pang in her heart but still thought he didn't have to tell her.
"And haven't you seen the news?"
"Strawberry just fell asleep, and I was writing."
She hadn't had time to go online.
Hearing this, Alexander felt even more frustrated. He had been thinking about this for so long, but she hadn't thought about him at all.
"Do you have anything else to say? I'm in a bit of a hurry with this draft."
'If there's nothing else, you can hang up.'
Alexander felt that was what Victoria meant, even though she always spoke softly.
"Daisy was there last night too."
"I see." Victoria had to respond.
Alexander almost couldn't hold back his questions, but after thinking for a moment, he couldn't help but pick up the phone, staring straight at Victoria on the screen, "Don't you want to say something? My grandparents insisted I apologize to you. My arm is broken now."
"What? Did Grandpa hit you again? Tell him it's okay with me. As long as you're happy, ask him don't hit you."
Hearing that Alexander had been hit again, Victoria showed some emotion.
Alexander felt even more bitter, but his temper softened, and he lowered his voice to ask her, "If he listened to me that much, we wouldn't have been together in the first place."
"True. Should I talk to your grandpa? I'll beg him. I'm doing well now, and you should be happy too."
Victoria said softly, feeling that she had said quite a lot.
She had expressed her thoughts clearly.
"Victoria, she looks a lot like you."
"What?"
Victoria was stunned.
Alexander suddenly sneered and continued, "Daisy cut her hair to the same length as yours, her dressing style is similar to yours, and even her expressions resemble yours."
Victoria was taken aback.
Suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes.
How could Daisy look like her?
Why would Alexander say such things to her?
"Even her singing is like yours."
Alexander's voice reached Victoria's ears again.
From beginning to end, Victoria didn't dare to look at the phone screen.
She just lowered her eyes, listening to him, trying not to let her face appear on the screen.
She hadn't forgotten Daisy. There was no way Daisy's singing could ever match hers.
Daisy sang terribly.
"Don't you want to say something?" Alexander asked.
Victoria couldn't help but fidget with her fingers, thinking and trying, but finally only said, "No."
"Yeah, you haven't had anything to say to me for a long time."
He tugged at the corner of his mouth but couldn't smile.
Brett and Eloise frowned as they watched from outside. They couldn't hear what was being said, but they could see that Alexander seemed very sad.
Eloise whispered, "Should we go over and say something?"
"No, if he needs us for this, who will he rely on when we're gone?" Brett said.
Eloise held back, continuing to eavesdrop with her ears perked.
"Mr. Harrington, last time you said..."
Victoria bit her lip, feeling pressured but wanting to say something.
They shouldn't be in contact anymore.
He had made it clear that they wouldn't contact each other again.
"What did I say last time?"
Alexander's voice was slightly anxious.
"You said last time that we wouldn't contact each other again."
Victoria reminded him softly.
It was just a reminder, but it stung Alexander's pride.
Alexander took a deep breath, a flash of malice in his eyes. He stared at the bit of her hair on the screen, barely suppressing his anger, and coldly said, "You seem to forget that this is Brett's phone, and it wasn't my idea to contact you."
"Okay, I thought when you said no contact, you meant through anyone."
Victoria said the last few words with particular tension, so much so that her nose was sweating.
But she wanted to clarify some things.
Hearing his voice made her nervous. She had already left, and she had no more feelings for him.
Alexander couldn't help but laugh, "I see, Ms. Kensington means that from now on, you don't want to hear about me from anyone, as if I'm dead, right?"
His eyes turned icy cold.
"I just hope we can each live our lives well."
Victoria thought his words were harsh, but she was used to his sharp tongue and didn't argue back.
"Indeed, take care."
