Chapter 508 The Wedding Night Was Also What I Wanted

Victoria's breath hitched as Alexander's kisses trailed from her lips down to her neck, making her head spin.

With nimble fingers, Alexander undid her shirt buttons—one, two, three, four...

A sudden knock on the door broke the moment.

Alexander's kisses stopped abruptly.

Victoria's eyes darted to the door.

Alexander glanced at Victoria, her hand still hooked around his neck, looking incredibly seductive.

"Ms. Kensington, it's time to clock out," Janaye called from outside.

"Okay!" Victoria replied, her voice tense.

Alexander noticed her flushed skin and the innocent look in her eyes.

'Is this what 23 looks like?' he wondered. He couldn't remember his own 23.

He stood up and buttoned her shirt back up.

They had time. No need to rush things.

The wedding was soon. A few days wouldn't matter.

He owed her a proper wedding night.

And he wanted it too.

When Victoria snapped back to reality, Alexander was looking at her, saying gently, "Let's clock out too."

"Okay," she agreed.

This suddenly gentle and restrained Alexander left her puzzled but feeling good.

When he touched her leg earlier, she felt a sense of urgency.

She didn't really want to resist. It was just her first time, and she was naturally nervous, especially in such an unusual place.

This was the office, and she was on the desk.

Such a tricky position left her a bit flustered.

That evening, Victoria went to dinner with Olivia and felt like someone was following her. She glanced back.

It was Thaddeus.

He stopped when their eyes met and then turned around.

A black sedan pulled up, and he opened the back door.

Isabella, in a long dress, stepped out. She held Thaddeus's wrist, got out of the car, and glanced at Victoria with a cold sneer.

The wind was biting, but Isabella didn't seem to feel it. She wore a long dress without a coat, looking every bit the aloof socialite.

"Mrs. Harrington, what a coincidence," Isabella greeted.

"Quite a coincidence," Victoria replied, eyeing the man beside her coldly.

Thaddeus looked uneasy and quickly lowered his head.

Victoria suddenly felt like Thaddeus had been following her.

She'd never been suspicious of unrelated people before. Her mind was usually occupied with one or two things.

But seeing Thaddeus tonight, she couldn't help but wonder, 'Did Isabella send Thaddeus to follow me again?'

Victoria noticed that Mark, her driver, hadn't left either. He probably stayed because he saw Isabella and Thaddeus and was worried about her.

Victoria suddenly missed Alexander, even though they'd only been apart for less than an hour.

"Mr. Phillips, are you still working for Ms. Montgomery?" Victoria asked Thaddeus coolly.

Isabella tensed up and looked at Victoria unhappily. "What do you mean by that?"

"Just thought of taking your subordinate," Victoria said calmly and turned to leave.

Isabella fumed, 'Taking my subordinate? How dare Victoria think of taking my bodyguard?'

Isabella glanced at Thaddeus and noticed he seemed lost in thought. She immediately asked, "You wouldn't really want to go with her, would you?"

Thaddeus replied politely, "Of course not."

Isabella snorted, "I've treated you well."

Thaddeus responded courteously, "Yes, I understand."

"It's best if you do. Victoria will end up disgraced sooner or later. Don't be fooled by her current glory."

"You bet." Thaddeus repeated.

When Isabella walked into the restaurant, she saw Victoria and Olivia sitting by the window. She remembered that website, VicLiv.

Isabella frowned, looking disdainful but still walked over. "Olivia, you started that website, didn't you?"

Olivia said casually, "Your words are foreign to me."

Isabella pressed, "That day I ran into you at the Frosty Summit Hotel‘s elevator, and you were the only one I saw. We've grown up together. Do you really have to kick me when I'm down?"

Olivia replied lazily, "Isabella, stop with the 'we grew up together' talk. I was abroad for several years before coming back."

"I see, you've chosen Victoria. I promise you'll regret it," Isabella said and then left.

After sitting down, she saw Olivia and Victoria laughing and said to Thaddeus, "Later, find someone to rob them at the door."

Thaddeus bent down and asked in a low voice, "Ms. Montgomery, are you sure?"

"Do I look unsure?" Isabella's sharp eyes bore into him.

"I just think if Mr. Harrington finds out, it will affect your relationship," Thaddeus advised.

Isabella laughed. "As long as Victoria is around, Alexander won't care about me."

Thaddeus suddenly had a bad feeling. He straightened up, looking at Victoria's slender figure across the room, feeling that she was about to face a great disaster.

A simple robbery to scare her might just be a false alarm, but whether the grand wedding between her and Alexander could proceed was really uncertain.

Clearly, the Montgomery family was not satisfied with such an outcome.

After dinner, Victoria went to wash her hands, and Isabella quickly followed.

Victoria heard the sound of high heels but didn't even lift her eyes.

Probably because she was familiar with it, she easily recognized that the footsteps belonged to Isabella.

Isabella's presence was so insignificant that any conversation with her felt like a futile waste of time.

Isabella, however, walked up to Victoria and stared at her, saying first, "Your wedding dress is nice, but you don't deserve it."

Victoria paused but quickly continued washing her hands, grabbed a paper towel to dry them, and was about to leave.

Isabella shouted, "Victoria, do you think you have what it takes to be the mistress of the Harrington family?"

Indeed, marrying Alexander meant taking on Arabella's duties. Victoria would manage all internal affairs of the Harrington family. That position looked exhausting but held significant power.

The woman in charge within the Harrington family would be respected by the entire city's social circle and even those business people who were not as powerful as the Harrington family.

At Victoria's age, with her family background, she was not worthy.

Victoria glanced at Isabella and said, "You should worry about yourself. My affairs don't concern you."

With that, she walked away.

"Thaddeus," Isabella suddenly called out.

Victoria reached the door but was blocked.

"Mrs. Harrington, Ms. Montgomery hasn't finished speaking." Thaddeus blocked the door, his cold voice reminding Victoria.
