Chapter 904 A Stalker at the Door
After dinner, a drunk Alexander dragged Victoria to the penthouse suite.
"What's..."
Before she could finish her question, Victoria was already pinned against the wall.
He cupped her face and kissed her hard.
Victoria stood there, stunned, her mind buzzing.
What was happening?
Why did he kiss her as soon as they entered the room?
He knew she was on her period, so kissing her was pointless.
"Ava is pregnant." Alexander whispered, "It's Adrian's."
Victoria was stunned by what had happened and by those two people.
But thinking about Ava and Adrian, she felt it wasn't so bad.
Ava could keep Adrian in check, which was well-known in the entertainment industry.
However, Victoria looked up at Alexander in front of her, wondering why he was so excited.
Even if he was excited, he didn't need to kiss her, and he was pressing her against the wall so ambiguously.
Victoria looked at him, noticing the lust in his eyes, and quickly raised her hand to push him away, "You're drunk."
"I'm more sober than ever."
He said and kissed her again.
Victoria's lips went numb from the kiss, and she turned her face away as he kissed her neck.
"Did you forget I'm on my period?"
Alexander stopped kissing her and suddenly laughed.
"Why are you laughing?"
Victoria felt a shiver run down her spine at the sound of his laughter.
"I thought you were saying I was drunk because you didn't want to have sex, but it turns out it's because you're on your period."
Victoria listened to his murmur, and it took her a while to understand what he meant. But before she could retort, her lips were sealed again.
He seemed to savor her like vintage wine.
Victoria was kissed until she was out of breath, but every time she tried to avoid it, he held her in place.
For three days, Alexander kept Victoria working in the hotel.
That day, Ava suddenly came looking for Alexander.
Victoria helped open the door, made coffee, and then left.
On the fourth day, Alexander returned to Ankenra City without taking Strawberry.
"What? He's back? That's great."
Daisy immediately went to dress up upon hearing Alexander was back.
"Victoria would never be in such a hurry to see Alexander."
A gentle yet firm voice suddenly came from behind her.
She put down her lipstick and turned to look at him, "Brian."
"I've taught you so much, but you still go crazy at the mention of Alexander's name. How can you win his heart?"
"But he finally came back."
"Timing is crucial," Brian added.
"You keep talking about timing, but when is the right time?"
"Wait until nightfall, then Daisy can become Victoria."
"What do you mean?"
Daisy didn't understand his words.
Brian smiled, "Just wait and see."
"But..."
"If you want a man, isn't there one right here?"
Brian's gaze at Daisy was unwavering and genuine.
Daisy understood but still felt a bit unwilling.
She sought out Brian purely to learn some skills.
"Be patient. To win a man's heart, you can't just flatter him and always be in front of him. You need to strike at the right moment."
Daisy felt like a snake was crawling up her neck. When she came to her senses, she saw in the mirror that Brian's slender hand was already inside her collar.
But suddenly, Alexander's grim face appeared in her mind.
When Alexander arrived at the office, he called Victoria before handling business. Victoria was feeding Strawberry fruit, and when Desiree handed her the phone. Sensing Victoria's hesitation, Desiree picked up the phone and handed it to her.
Victoria took the phone, and Desiree left with Strawberry.
"I just got to the office, about to start a meeting. What about you?"
"I just finished feeding Strawberry some fruit."
"Is it the fruit I bought yesterday?"
"Yes."
"Victoria,"
"Did you take my shirt?" Victoria suddenly asked.
Alexander chuckled, "I planned to wear it, but two buttons fell off and haven't been sewn back on. I'll wear it next time we meet."
Victoria felt a pang in her heart but remained silent, not knowing what to say.
"The gift I left for you is under your pillow. Don't forget to check it."
"Why did you give me a gift?"
"No reason."
Alexander had thought about it seriously and felt this was the most appropriate answer.
Victoria said nothing more and hung up the phone, intending to check the gift under her pillow.
"I think Mr. Harrington wants to take Mrs. Harrington back with him this time."
"I think so too. If Mrs. Harrington goes back, it would be great. We wouldn't have to stay here anymore."
The two nannies chatted while taking care of Strawberry.
Victoria realized that everyone wanted to go back home.
Arabella had doubled their salaries to keep them here, but their families were back home.
Victoria thought she should find a reason to let them go back soon.
If Strawberry stayed here, Frank and Eve could stay. If Strawberry left, they could go back too.
Victoria pretended not to hear and went back to the bedroom, heading straight for the bed. She sat down and lifted the pillow, finding a heart-shaped necklace pendant.
Victoria touched the pendant, feeling like there was something inside.
She instinctively picked it up and shook it gently, then carefully opened the pendant.
It was their wedding ring.
This ring had been worn and taken off several times, and she didn't expect it to end up with her.
Victoria felt like her heart was breaking as she slowly closed the pendant.
Alexander's message came in: [I was going to use my mom as an excuse, but Tori, I suddenly don't want to make so many excuses anymore.]
Victoria's nose started to tingle, and her eyes turned red.
Why was he telling her this now?
Even if she was deeply moved in private, she couldn't forget the hurt she had suffered.
They were no longer suitable for each other.
The cracks between them were beyond repair.
They had shown each other their worst sides.
The day after Alexander returned, Victoria stopped answering his calls.
On that same day, rumors spread in the country that a famous artist had a child with his manager.
Adrian lost control upon seeing the news, instinctively associating it with himself.
Melissa saw Adrian looking lost at home and couldn't help but mutter, "What's wrong with you?"
Adrian immediately picked up his phone and called Ava, "Ava,"
"Are you asking about the news? They didn't mention any names. Are you going to claim it yourself?"
Adrian was stunned by Ava's question.
Ava continued, "Just ignore it. You're so far away, and I've already returned country. If you don't want to continue in this business, I'll have to find other artists."
"What other artists?"
"A few days ago, Dennis introduced some pretty good boys. I'm planning to pick two to train. You know, I always go for quality over quantity."
Adrian hung up the phone, feeling a bit confused.
What he thought of was that she was going to give up on him.
He went out, and the wind was blowing hard. As he drove near Victoria's villa, he saw a man wrapped up tightly on one side of the house. A stalker?
