Chapter 395 A Man's Promise
"Shower and sleep." Alexander walked to the bed, bent down, and lifted her from the ground to the bathroom.
When Victoria looked at him in shock, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, gazing at his stern face, and whispered, "Why don't you leave?"
He said, "I shouldn't have left you alone."
He remained with a stern face, appearing angry.
She blushed.
He didn't bother her anymore and left her in the bathroom before exiting.
He came in once midway.
Victoria stood naked under the shower, turned her back, covering her chest, and then turned around cautiously to look at him.
Alexander said at the bathroom door before leaving, "Put your clothes on the hanger outside the door." Only after hearing the sound of the door closing outside did Victoria slowly release herself.
He did indeed place the clothes for her outside on the hanger-a set of blue pajamas with long pants.
Because of the pajamas, Victoria's heart slowly sank, sinking into a realm she was almost unclear about.
After she finished washing up and went out, Alexander was lying on the bed.
"Come here."
Alexander reminded her.
Victoria glanced at the bed, the dim light shining on the bedhead and his head, appearing particularly warm and ambiguous.
Victoria's heart tightened, looking at the space he left on the bed, but she didn't dare approach.
She even felt like that place didn't belong to her.
She was grateful that he had thought of her again, giving her a comfortable set of pajamas, but she couldn't bring herself to sleep in his embrace because of it.
"I'll sleep in the guest room." She could sleep here, but it had to be in the guest room.
Alexander asked, "Don’t you want your ID?"
Victoria immediately turned around. She had forgotten that she left the pajamas inside while bathing. He went in to deliver the clothes...
Victoria stepped forward immediately. "Why are you taking my ID?"
"Is this your ID? This is my wife's ID."
Alexander reminded her, holding a few documents between his sexy and slender fingers.
Victoria tried to snatch them, but she couldn't see clearly. "Alexander, stop playing around. Give it back!" Victoria kneeled at the bed’s edge, leaning forward.
Alexander held the ID in one hand, quickly embracing her slender waist as she approached.
Victoria fell into his chest in a twisted position, unable to get up, and could only cry out in pain, "Alexander."
It hurt.
Her chest and neck seemed to be in different worlds.
Alexander immediately released the ID to the side, then helped her turn over and lie down. "Are you hurt?"
There was a thin layer of mist in her eyelashes-pitiful and heartbreaking.
"Where does it hurt?"
"Alexander, give me back my ID."
Tears welled up in her eyes as she pleaded beneath him.
Listening, Alexander suddenly smiled when he understood, pressed his forehead against hers, held the back of her neck, and whispered softly, "Darling, can we not leave? Let's have a child after the wedding. I promise to give you a warm home."
One should never trust a man's promise. Victoria didn't want to talk to him anymore. Whatever she said, he wouldn't listen.
'Waiting for him to fall asleep, I quietly left with the documents.'
With this thought in mind, Victoria suddenly pushed him away. When she had enough space, she turned her back to him.
Alexander wasn't angry but rather felt tender inside.
He turned off the light, approached her, and gently embraced her from behind. "Goodnight."
Victoria remained silent, but he knew she was angry. He lightly kissed her shoulder and held her as they fell asleep.
He did fall asleep later, but before he drifted off...
