Chapter 892 He Said She Would Mistreat Strawberry
Victoria snapped back to reality, followed him in, and asked Alexander, "What are you doing here?"
"Buying a suit, or two. Or maybe all of them."
He looked at her, speaking calmly, but the salesperson nearby held her breath.
One suit, two suits, or all of them?
Was she about to strike it rich?
Victoria held Strawberry in her arms and watched Alexander try on suits. She wanted to run several times, but she didn't leave.
Or was she more interested in seeing Alexander in the same brand of suits her father used to wear?
Alexander tried on a dark-colored suit, and while Victoria's expression remained indifferent, she couldn't help but sigh inwardly.
Everything looked good on him.
Victoria was disappointed in herself for still being captivated by him, while the salesperson was already looking at him with admiration and showering him with praise.
That salesperson was better at complimenting than she was, praising him to the skies. She was afraid that Alexander would get carried away with all the flattery.
Alexander bought two suits, and Victoria thought for a moment, "Why don't you buy two more?"
"Why?"
"Get one for your dad and one for your grandpa," Victoria suggested.
Alexander's long, narrow eyes looked straight at her, inscrutable, until she felt nervous under his gaze. Then he said, "Okay."
Victoria couldn't help but meet his gaze.
Anyway, no matter how many clothes he bought, he would be the one carrying them.
Later, the two of them had lunch at a burger joint, and Alexander suggested, "The hotel is just ahead. How about we take a nap?"
Victoria was very interested in the nap part, but when she thought about it being a hotel, and Alexander's hotel at that, she immediately lost interest. "The hotel is nice, more suitable for a busy man like you. Strawberry and I will drive home ourselves. Thank you for accompanying us this morning, Mr. Harrington."
"Are you using me as a nanny?"
Alexander took a bite of his burger, chewed, and then asked her slowly, a bit through gritted teeth.
Victoria didn't say anything, but her expression said, "You know it."
After lunch, Alexander continued to drive for her. Seeing in the rearview mirror that Strawberry was asleep in her arms, he stopped the car in front of the hotel.
A staff member helped open the back door, only to see Alexander get out of the driver's seat. He immediately greeted him, "Mr. Harrington."
Alexander nodded slightly, walked over, and first took Strawberry out from inside.
Victoria, seeing there were others around, whispered, "We're going home."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm going back with Strawberry."
Alexander ignored Victoria, carried Strawberry, and walked in.
Strawberry was like a thread that could pull Victoria back from anywhere.
Alexander had a fixed suite, which also had a guest room.
As soon as Victoria entered, she checked the rooms and then said to him, "I'll sleep in one room with Strawberry."
Alexander just glanced at her and said, "Suit yourself."
Victoria was just thinking how agreeable Alexander was when he suddenly stopped at the door, turned around, and called her, "Victoria."
Victoria reflexively turned her head.
"I have a meeting. It should be over in about two hours."
"Okay." Victoria took a moment before responding.
"Get some rest. If you need anything, just call them."
He reminded her again and then left.
Victoria stood there silently, her eyes inexplicably feeling a bit warm.
Was he bringing her here because of his meeting?
Was she just being wishful?
Victoria smiled wryly and then went back to the room with Strawberry.
Occasionally staying in a comfortable hotel felt pretty nice. Victoria stared at the ceiling, remembering how Olivia had said that Alexander opened a hotel here just because she had once said she lived here for many years, with no other reason.
Alexander finished his meeting after three o'clock. The secretary stood outside the conference room, "Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington left with Ms. Harrington half an hour ago."
"I see."
Alexander glanced at his watch and suddenly smiled.
This time was much better than usual.
Victoria didn't leave immediately, and by his calculations, she must have taken a nap.
Alexander was busy until dusk before leaving the hotel.
When he got home, Victoria was at the door fiddling with the smart lock.
Hearing the car, she turned her head, then stopped what she was doing.
Alexander got out of the car, told the driver to leave, and walked towards Victoria, "Are you trying to change the lock again?"
Victoria didn't respond to him, only said, "Why are you here again?"
"I'm coming home."
He walked in by himself.
Victoria looked up at his tall figure, then slowly lowered her eyes.
She wanted to stay a few more days with Strawberry, but his actions made things a bit complicated for her.
Victoria thought for a moment and followed him in, "Alexander."
Alexander sat down on the sofa. Hearing her call him Alexander instead of stumbling over Mr. Harrington like before, he gestured for her to continue.
"If you have unfinished work here, stay at the hotel. If you're done, go back."
"I'll go back with Strawberry in a couple of days."
"If you insist on going back with Strawberry, then go back with her now."
Alexander looked up at Victoria.
He never expected her to say that.
She didn't even want the child anymore.
She had already made such a decision long ago.
He had forgotten.
Alexander suddenly began to doubt his intelligence. He was never an emotional person.
But what was happening to him now?
He came here, afraid she would kick him out, even choosing a rainy day. Then she left the hotel, and as soon as he finished his work, he rushed over.
His mind was full of spending more time with her, completely disregarding his dignity.
Finally, thinking about all this, his expression turned grim again. He looked at her and said, "Fine, we'll leave right away."
Victoria felt a sting in her heart.
She just wanted him to leave.
Seeing that she had no intention of stopping him, Alexander immediately stood up.
Desiree came out holding Strawberry after feeding her and noticed their tense expressions. She softly said, "Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, what's going on? It's not good to argue right after the meeting."
"Who's arguing? I'm just being kicked out. Hand Strawberry over to me."
Alexander said as he reached for Strawberry.
Seeing him take Strawberry, Victoria panicked.
She had been looking forward to seeing Strawberry, and now he was leaving so soon.
"Can't I have Frank bring Strawberry back to you another day?"
Victoria finally couldn't hold back, stubbornly whispering.
Hearing this, Alexander's heart softened a bit, but thinking about it, she still wanted him to leave. He couldn't help but turn and look at her, "If you can't tolerate me, how can you tolerate Strawberry? What if I leave and you mistreat Strawberry?"
Not only was Victoria shocked, but Desiree was surprised as well.
What mother would mistreat her child? And even if there were such a mother, it wouldn't be Victoria.
"Mr. Harrington."
Desiree softly called Alexander, reminding him to restrain himself.
Victoria was already tearful with a grievance, "Then just take Strawberry away."
She said and stormed upstairs.
After all, nothing she said mattered.
Not only did it not matter, but she was also accused of child mistreatment.
That was her precious baby, whom she carried for ten months and almost died giving birth to. How could she bear to mistreat Strawberry?
Only Alexander could say something so heartless.
