Chapter 522 Replica
Victoria called out, "Alexander."
"I'm here," he replied.
"Will you always be good to me?"
"I will."
This time felt like a fresh start for Victoria.
During the day, she'd walk down the street with a smile. At night, she'd eagerly run to dinner.
Everything seemed to be going great.
It was the happiest she'd been since her parents passed away.
Until that night, a loud bang shattered the peace.
Screams echoed from the restaurant entrance, one after another.
The two people at the front couldn't even scream.
That night, Olivia had invited Victoria out for dinner. As they were leaving the restaurant, a dark figure suddenly plummeted in front of them.
When they saw who it was, they were so scared they covered their mouths, barely able to breathe.
A young woman had jumped to her death.
Blood was everywhere, and she lay on the ground with her eyes wide open.
"Honey, Honey." A man rushed out, shouting as he ran past Victoria.
He hit her shoulder hard, and she almost fell.
Before she could hit the ground, strong hands caught her shoulders. She looked up, her frightened eyes meeting Alexander's, but she couldn't help but look back.
The last time she saw so much blood was when her parents died in a car accident.
Victoria felt dizzy, but with Alexander holding her, she could barely stand.
Seeing Alexander, Olivia clung to his arm in fear.
Both of them were stunned, and not far away, a girl was kneeling on the ground, screaming continuously.
A man knelt on the ground, holding the woman whose face was covered in blood, shouting with his head tilted back and eyes closed, each cry heart-wrenching, "Honey, I will never do it again. I was wrong. I will never leave you again and see other women again. Honey, wake up. Honey..."
Soon, the girl staggered out and also knelt on the ground. She trembled all over, looking in disbelief at the woman the man was holding.
The light from inside shone on the ground, illuminating the thick pool of blood.
Everyone was stunned.
As witnesses, the police questioned them immediately upon arrival. Later, they heard the man crying out in grief again. "Honey, Honey..."
But the dead woman would never come back.
How could that woman be so foolish to punish a cheating man with her life?
Alexander called Edward, who soon arrived to take Olivia away.
When Alexander brought Victoria home, she was no longer the same as she had been before dinner.
"It's okay now." Alexander placed her on the bed, holding her in his arms to comfort her.
Victoria leaned against his warm chest, but her heartbeat couldn't calm down for a long time.
Alexander looked down at her, worriedly stroking her arm. "It's okay now."
Victoria couldn't speak, obediently staying in his arms.
If everyone could possess a superpower, at twenty-three, she yearned for the ability to prevent death.
But unfortunately, she didn't have it.
As their wedding day approached, Alexander became busier, and Victoria spent her days with Olivia or Janaye.
Olivia was also quite shaken, so she decided to fight fire with fire, finding a few horror movies. While the men were on the island, the two of them watched scary horror movies at Regal Retreat.
Maybe it worked. They vented and finally came to terms with it.
Life had to go on.
But, inexplicably, they couldn't be happy anymore.
Isabella, meanwhile, was getting more and more excited.
That night, looking at the man standing in front of her, she asked Thaddeus, "What do you mean?"
Thaddeus replied, "He likes women."
Isabella looked at him in confusion, then suddenly laughed. "I've changed my mind and forgot to tell you."
Thaddeus glanced at her, then lowered his head to ask, "Ms. Montgomery, does that mean we don't need to find anyone?"
Isabella said with a smile, "Yes, no need."
Thaddeus didn't know her next plan, but he hoped she had given up her previous bad intentions.
"But you still need to do something for me," Isabella added.
"Ms. Montgomery, please go ahead," Thaddeus said.
"I have a valuable piece of jewelry at Regal Retreat. It was very bright. You'd better cut the power for more than twenty minutes," Isabella said.
Thaddeus didn't understand her orders, but the Montgomery family had done him a favor, so he could only agree.
Seeing Thaddeus still bowing his head without agreeing, Isabella said, "Thaddeus, if you do this well, I'll agree to your retirement request."
"Yes." Thaddeus immediately agreed.
Thaddeus wanted to retire. The things he had done for the Montgomery Family had long exceeded the scope of a bodyguard's duties. He feared that if he continued, he would end up in jail.
If Isabella was willing to let him go, cutting the power was a small price to pay.
Isabella said, "You may leave now. I will contact you again."
"Yes." The two quickly left.
After leaving, the man asked Thaddeus, "I heard Regal Retreat is heavily guarded. Can we get in?"
"If we want to, we can," Thaddeus said, walking faster.
Thaddeus needed to scout the area first. Although he had been there many times and knew a lot about it, he had never been to the power room.
Meanwhile, Isabella was looking forward to the night before Victoria and Alexander's wedding.
For the past two days, the news had been filled with reports of a woman's suicide. She was already anticipating another woman taking her place.
A few minutes later, Isabella also left, driving to a secluded alley and entering a private studio.
Though small, it was quite unique inside.
She went straight to the designer's workshop, and as soon as she opened the door, she saw the wedding dress.
The designer saw her and asked in surprise, "Why did you come suddenly?"
Isabella said, "The wedding is upcoming. Of course, I need to see the finished product."
The designer said, "It was just finished ten minutes ago."
"It looks almost identical." Isabella stepped forward, incredulously reaching out to touch the wedding dress.
The designer sighed. She had seen photos of the original dress. Outsiders might not understand, but professionals like them could tell at a glance that the original dress was unique, far superior to any replica.
The designer reminded her, "I must remind you that a fake is a fake. Outsiders may not understand, but professionals can see through it."
Isabella replied, "It doesn't matter. As long as outsiders can't tell. I want to try it on."
"Okay."
Soon after, Isabella took out her phone and said, "Please take a photo for me. Make it beautiful."
"I'll do my best."
The designer cooperated, helping her pose and taking the photo.
Isabella immediately checked the photo, nodding in satisfaction. "Very good."
