Chapter 848 I Won't Be Fooled by Your Sweet Talk
"Even your secretary's salary is paid by Alexander. Are you sure you're the one treating me?"
"Then, are you treating me?"
Victoria looked at her and asked softly.
"Going Dutch."
Diana said as she turned and walked towards Alexander's office.
Victoria smiled helplessly. 'These siblings are both equally proud.'
However, Victoria felt good about another plan she was about to implement.
Maybe Diana came back at just the right time.
At noon, Diana walked out of Alexander's office, looking depressed. When she saw Victoria, she couldn't help but curse, "I hate you so much."
"Still going for lunch?"
Victoria was worried she wouldn't go.
"Of course, we're going, and you're treating."
Diana said as she walked towards the elevator.
Victoria thought, 'If I'm treating, then so be it. Why is Diana so fierce?'
Thinking about going back to Rockland Street tonight, Victoria felt inexplicably happy.
Victoria rarely used a private room at the restaurant next to the company. After Diana sat down, she thought Victoria must have something to say to her and immediately warned her, "Don't think you can persuade me. I'm not Alexander; I won't be fooled by your sweet talk."
"What if I want to divorce Alexander?"
"What?"
Diana was stunned, her eyes, as big as Alexander's, stared at Victoria, full of confusion.
"Let's get straight to the point. I want a divorce and to take Strawberry back to Elysium Country."
"Take Strawberry back to Elysium Country? Strawberry is part of the Harrington family."
Diana frowned, pondering.
Regarding Strawberry, Diana always felt that their family members should stay within their family.
"But Strawberry is also my child. Let's not talk about Strawberry for now. Can we talk about the divorce first?"
Victoria thought for a moment and decided to tackle Diana first.
Maybe later, when dealing with Alexander, she would have the first real ally in the Harrington family.
"Are you willing to divorce Alexander?"
Diana still found it unbelievable.
What Diana heard was that Victoria clung to the Harrington family because of her parent's car accident.
So even though they got married, Diana, Alexander's sister, was unwilling to come back. She didn't consider Victoria as one of their own.
"Of course, we almost divorced several times before. Alexander is too excellent; I don't deserve him."
Diana was stunned.
'What kind of girl says she doesn't deserve a man?'
Diana suddenly felt unhappy and stared at Victoria for a while before agreeing, "Of course, I can agree, but how can I help you?"
"First of all, make sure I have less private contact with him."
"Why don't you not go to Metro House."
Diana thought, 'Isn't it you who wants to go there? So hypocritical.'
"I go to Metro House because Grandma is sick. She wants me to accompany her. You know, Her health has always been unstable. I dare not disobey. But she has almost recovered in the past two days. I have a small apartment near the company. Alexander and I have an agreement that I can stay in the apartment with Strawberry on weekdays, and he takes care of Strawberry during holidays."
"How could you have such an agreement?"
Diana was even more puzzled.
"I don't deserve Alexander. You think he's so excellent. Being with him would put a lot of pressure on me, so I think it's better to give up."
Diana frowned even more as she looked at her.
Diana felt she had never seen such a cowardly woman.
"So what do you want me to do now?"Diana asked again.
"Keep Alexander occupied tonight."
"That's easy. I just came back, so I want him to come home for dinner tonight. If he drinks a few more glasses of wine, he won't be able to drive and will stay."
"Thank you. Today, I'm treating you with my money, not the Harrington family's or Alexander's salary. Is that okay?"
"You have other income?"
Diana was puzzled.
"A little, not much."
Victoria explained with a smile and then asked Diana to order.
Diana didn't expect her first meal back in town to be with the person she disliked the most, Victoria, but she still ate and was quite satisfied.
After the meal, as they walked out of the private room, they happened to run into Alexander and Benjamin coming out of another room.
Both Alexander and Benjamin were a bit puzzled, especially Benjamin.
He had just heard from Alexander that Diana didn't like Victoria, and then he saw them walking out of a private room together, looking very close.
At that moment, Victoria was holding Diana's hand and talking closely with her, and Diana was listening intently.
"Alexander."
Diana called out to Alexander excitedly.
"Mr. Beaumont."
Victoria glanced at Alexander, then quickly looked away and greeted Benjamin briefly.
Benjamin smiled and nodded at her, then looked at Diana, "Diana, do you remember me?"
"Benjamin, I heard you're secretly dating that girl from the Hughes family."
Diana raised her eyebrows and said to him.
Benjamin smiled without saying anything and thought for a moment, "When we get married, we'll ask you to be the bridesmaid."
"I like you too. Maybe you'll marry me instead. How exciting would it be to have Tessa as the bridesmaid then?"
Diana's words successfully made Benjamin unhappy.
"Why are you two together?"
Alexander interrupted their conversation.
"Just having a meal, does it need a reason? I'm going home."
Diana said and walked away.
After she left, Alexander looked at Victoria, his eyes suddenly becoming inscrutable.
Why did he feel uneasy with these two women together?
Victoria had nothing to say and nodded to Benjamin, "I have work to do, so I'll head back first."
After they both left, Benjamin muttered, "They don't seem to be up to what you're worried about."
Alexander, hands in his pockets, watched Victoria's figure as she went downstairs, feeling helpless.
He was in meetings all afternoon. Before Victoria left work, she contacted him, confirmed he was fine, and quietly left.
She didn't mention her leaving work at all.
She had Eve pick up Strawberry and take her to Rockland Street, and she hurried back as well.
After entering the house, she briefly relaxed.
Only at this time did she feel she had a bit of freedom.
The grass outside was turning green, and everything seemed to be moving in a good direction.
Alexander walked out of the office, striding towards Victoria's desk. Seeing the unoccupied chair, he smiled helplessly, took out his phone, and dialed as he left.
As he left the office building, Leander had already parked the car, "Mr. Harrington, where to?"
"Metro House."
Alexander got in and looked at his phone again.
Diana had been waiting at the door. Seeing him return, she immediately ran out happily, "Alexander."
Alexander, on the phone, got out of the car, looked at the enthusiastic Diana, and spoke softly to the person on the other end, "I'll be back later."
