Chapter 849 It's Surrogacy

Rockland Street Apartments, early morning.

Just like the past two days, as soon as Victoria opened the door, she saw Alexander's figure again.

Alexander looked at her and smiled gently, "Good morning."

Victoria stood at the door, staring at him blankly, not understanding why he had been so humble these past few days.

"Good morning."

She responded softly, then returned to her room.

Alexander quickly followed her.

Seeing her pretending to be indifferent, Alexander wished he could immediately pull her into his arms, but thinking of her thoughts, he had to convince himself to calm down first.

Victoria, on the other hand, was thinking that she had overestimated Diana's abilities.

She had been full of hope that Diana could help her escape Alexander's control, but what was the result?

"Baby."

Victoria reflexively turned around quickly.

But to her surprise, with her heart racing and her face flushing, Alexander just walked past her.

It turned out he was calling Strawberry.

She thought to herself, 'How could he still call her baby after all their arguments?'

Feeling guilty for her wishful thinking, Victoria didn't dare to approach. Eve, however, came out holding Strawberry and said to him, "Mr. Harrington, it seemed like Strawberry called 'daddy' last night."

"Really?"

Alexander immediately looked down at Strawberry and took her in his arms, "Did Strawberry call 'daddy'?"

"Of course, she didn't."

Victoria reminded him.

She had looked up information; at this age, babies babble and make sounds unconsciously.

Alexander, holding Strawberry, turned to look at Victoria. Seeing that she wouldn't meet his eyes, he said, "I'm taking Strawberry to the office today."

"You have a meeting in the morning and a lunch appointment."

"When I'm busy, you take care of Strawberry."

"So, am I going to work or take care of the child?"

Alexander looked at the articulate Victoria, feeling a bit helpless, and turned to Eve, "Call the nanny to come along."

"Okay."

Eve agreed and went to make arrangements on her phone.

Alexander turned to look at Victoria, thinking that even a dog had a kennel, but he had nothing.

He had been sleeping at the door for several days, and she hadn't moved at all.

Of course, she wasn't moved. Her expression showed that she was heartless.

In the morning, Alexander took Strawberry to the office building. Victoria was still holding Strawberry's coat, and in the large hall, everyone turned to look.

"Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, are you two bringing the baby to work? Let me see her."

Penelope from the PR department happened to run into them and immediately stopped to greet them.

"She looks like Mr. Harrington."

Penelope said after looking at Strawberry. Seeing Victoria's lack of interest, she thought Victoria might feel neglected and told her, "You're so beautiful. If you have a second child, a son, he'll be just as charming as you."

While they were bringing the baby to work, Diana was called to a café by a phone call.

Daisy had been waiting there for Diana. Although she had never met Diana, she knew Diana and Alexander were twins.

As soon as Diana pushed the door open, Daisy recognized her and slowly stood up.

"Diana."

Daisy greeted her with a smile.

Diana walked over, casually looked her up and down, and said, "So you're Daisy. How did you get my phone number?"

"My husband is a friend of yours."

"Who is your husband?"

"Elliot."

Hearing that name, Diana carefully looked her over again and then asked with a smile, "What do you want from me?"

"It's nothing major. just wanted to remind you to be careful of Victoria."

"What?"

Diana frowned.

"You just returned to the country, so you might not know. Victoria is very insidious."

Daisy said with a look of concern.

Diana listened but still scrutinized her and smiled, "What did she do to you?"

"She didn't do anything to me, but you know Isabella, right? Isabella went to jail because of her."Daisy said.

Diana lowered her head, ordered an Americano, and then spoke again, "But as far as I know, Isabella went to jail for committing a crime."

"It was because Victoria secretly guided her into committing the crime."

Diana frowned, not understanding.

But Diana knew very well that Daisy was trying to sow discord. She leaned forward slightly and whispered, "Please, Ms. Bryant, tell me more."

Seeing Diana's interest, Daisy went into detail, and by the end, she was crying with swollen eyes, "If I hadn't gotten married, she would have thought I was trying to seduce Alexander and take her place. I admit I liked Alexander, but that was when I thought they were divorced. When I found out they weren't, I backed off."

"They will get divorced."

Diana looked at her and said thoughtfully.

"Really?"

Daisy couldn't help but get excited.

"Of course, it's true, but you're not worthy of marrying into our Harrington family."

Daisy immediately felt embarrassed.

"Tell me more about Victoria. You know, in our family, she's considered a pitiful person. Everyone pities her and protects her."

Diana thought, 'Maybe I could learn more about Victoria from outsiders.'

'Is Victoria still as manipulative as she was when she was a child?'

'Otherwise, why couldn't I stop Alexander every time?'

She tried her best every day, but Alexander still went to Victoria.

"I think she's very good at playing the victim. Otherwise, how could the sharp elders of the Harrington family protect her? It's said that the Harrington family elders publicly declare that she is the only daughter-in-law of the Harrington family, forever."

"Really?"

Diana knew her family elders protected her, but she didn't expect it to be to that extent. 'Why should only Victoria be Alexander's wife? Alexander is such an excellent person; he deserves a more outstanding woman. How could Victoria be worthy?'

"Yes, even though there are rumors that Victoria can't have another kid, the Harrington family elders still protect her."

Seeing Diana's interest, Daisy continued to speak softly to her.

"By the way, some people say that Strawberry isn't the baby that Victoria gave birth to."

"What?"

Diana instantly became furious.

'Strawberry isn't Victoria's child?'

'Then whose child is Strawberry?'

"Don't get too excited; these are just rumors,"Daisy said.

"Rumors? If she hadn't done something like that, how could there be such rumors? No wonder she only had her first child so long after marrying Alexander. I thought it was because Alexander didn't like her and didn't touch her, but it turns out there's another reason."

Diana muttered, then suddenly looked up and stared at Daisy, "Tell me everything you've heard."

"It's surrogacy."
