Chapter 573 Kidnapped
"I need to see the results tomorrow, or you won't get a single cent," Isabella said and immediately hung up.
She wanted to see how long Victoria could stay on top.
Last time, Victoria escaped because Isaa was a gay, so Alexander didn't mind it and still loved her. But this time, she made sure the man she had arranged liked women, and...
Isabella smirked sarcastically, then started the car and drove away.
She had someone following them. She also wanted to see how much Alexander loved that deceitful woman.
——
The next day, when Victoria arrived at the set, Nicole came out and said sarcastically, "The young mistress of the Harrington family still has to act herself, huh?"
Victoria gave her a blank look. "I do a lot of things myself."
"No wonder you got the lead role so easily. Turns out you relied on your man," Nicole mocked.
With that, she turned and walked away.
Victoria couldn't be bothered to explain, so she went inside.
When Adrian saw Victoria, he didn't approach her immediately. Instead, Ava went over to greet her, "You look very refreshed today."
"Thank you. I've been sleeping a lot these past few days. By the way, why did they suddenly change the script?"
"The producer wasn't satisfied with it, and Craig didn't dare to object," Ava explained.
The producer rarely came by, so Victoria thought he wouldn't interfere.
Victoria thought, 'Whatever. It's just that the kissing scene is gone. That's good anyway. Although I can do that, it's always better not to.'
However, Victoria felt a sense of foreboding throughout the day on set, which made her feel a bit oppressed.
She was worried that something bad might happen, thinking, 'Alexander went on a sudden business trip last night and won't be back for a few days. What can be bothering me?'
Victoria didn't think anyone on set would dare to trouble her now.
After all, everyone on set knew she was Alexander's wife.
Around noon, an assistant director came over and said, "Felicity, there's an interview tonight. You need to attend."
"Okay." Despite being puzzled, Victoria agreed.
Adrian, standing next to her reading the script, asked, "Which media outlet?"
"Seems like Starlight Media," the assistant director mumbled while thinking, then left.
"Well, I know them," Victoria said.
When she was Alexander's secretary, their people had contacted her, and she found them quite reputable.
"I know them too. It's just strange that they want to interview you now." Adrian frowned, feeling something was off.
They both knew Starlight Media was well-known.
Adrian thought maybe because Victoria was associated with the Harrington Group, they were eager to interview her.
For an ordinary actor, such an opportunity wouldn't come so quickly.
After filming that night, Victoria called Dennis and then got into the car sent by the reporters.
Two men, both dressed in black with work badges hanging on their chests.
Victoria looked at them, feeling an inexplicable sense of danger. She couldn't help but ask, "Are you reporters from Starlight Media?"
The two men replied, "Yes."
Victoria asked again, "Is your boss married?"
The two men were taken aback, exchanged glances, and looked at her. "Of course, he is. Do you know our boss?"
Victoria said, "Yes, he said he'd invite me to his wedding."
"So, Ms. Katherine, you're close to our boss," the two men smiled.
They were planning something, then closed the car door. One drove while the other sat in the back with her.
"My last name isn't Katherine," Victoria suddenly spoke.
"Not Katherine?"
The car suddenly braked hard.
Meanwhile, Isabella was already waiting at a city intersection for their car. She needed to see their car arrive at the designated place to feel at ease.
On the other side, Adrian anxiously found Ava and said, "Call the boss of Starlight Media and ask if they have an interview scheduled with Victoria today."
"What?" Ava was puzzled.
"Don't ask. Just call. I'm worried something might happen to Victoria." Adrian was extremely worried.
Ava, hearing his urgency, didn't dare delay. She immediately took out her phone, found the number, and called. After the call, she quickly caught up with Adrian, who was already heading out. "Adrian, I've checked. There is no interview scheduled."
"Damn, something's wrong." Adrian immediately called Victoria's number.
After getting out of the car, Victoria walked calmly for a few steps and then started running.
The minor injuries from the other night were nothing now.
She just ran as fast as she could.
Those two men weren't reporters from Starlight Media; they might not even be reporters.
"Hey."
Victoria heard the car door open behind her and someone shouting.
At that moment, she could only run like crazy. But she had a bad feeling that she would be caught.
When her phone rang, she quickly took it out of her pocket and saw it was Adrian. She answered quickly. "Adrian..."
However, her head was hit by a phone, and her phone fell to the ground. She quickly lost the ability to resist and slowly fell to the ground.
Alexander's image suddenly appeared in Victoria's mind. She wondered if last night was their last meeting.
She didn't know what had happened or who she had offended.
'Is it still Isabella?' She couldn't think anymore. The pain in her head quickly numbed her entire brain, and her vision gradually darkened.
She finally fell.
Her only regret was that she didn't get to say a proper goodbye to Alexander.
When a car approached, they quickly carried Victoria away.
"Is it that one?" Ava was sitting in Adrian's passenger seat.
Adrian was almost speeding, but the other car wasn't slow either.
And once they entered the city, a blue car suddenly blocked him.
Not long after, the blue car disappeared, and he lost track of them.
"What to do now?" Ava asked nervously.
"I wish I knew." Adrian was extremely anxious.
Ava quickly turned to him and said, "Call Alexander. Only he can find Victoria quickly now."
Adrian was silent.
"Adrian." Ava was worried he wouldn't want to because the more Alexander did for Victoria, the more it proved he couldn't have her.
She feared he wouldn't agree.
"Then just call him," Adrian shouted in frustration.
"Okay." Ava was a bit surprised but quickly called Alexander.
Alexander was in a meeting when he saw Ava's call. He hesitated for two seconds, then left the meeting room to answer, "Hello?"
"Mr. Harrington, Victoria might have been kidnapped," Ava said anxiously.
"What?" Alexander was taken aback.
Ava replied, "Someone pretended to be a reporter from Starlight Media to interview her today. We don't know the details, but the key point is we lost track of the car in the city."
"License plate number." Alexander instantly became serious, striding toward the elevator while asking.
"The license plate was covered. We only know it was a black business car, probably a Mercedes," Ava told him everything she knew.
When the elevator door opened, Alexander stood there for a few seconds before saying, "Got it."
