Chapter 788 Alexander Suddenly Brings Cherries to Her
"I'm telling you, if Brett dares to take a knife for another woman, I'll divorce him immediately."
Eloise also chimed in.
"Mom, I won't divorce him. I'll just leave and make sure he can't marry another woman."
Arabella whispered to Eloise.
Eloise glanced at Maximus, "You won't find another man like my son who lets you bully him."
"Mom, aren't we talking about something else?"
Arabella murmured with a helpless smile.
Maximus just stood by, smiling silently.
He was used to Arabella's personality and enjoyed the constant attention.
As for Alexander, he believed that his personality was more like Arabella's.
Strawberry fell asleep after eating, and Victoria came downstairs, "Grandma, Mom, I'm here to help you make cookies."
"Hurry up, we've been waiting for you."
Arabella said.
Erica went to the kitchen to get a set of molds for her.
The cookies Victoria made were beautiful, as delicate as she was.
Seeing her at work, Alexander also took a piece of dough and, to everyone's surprise, used a simple mold to make a cookie that resembled Strawberry's face.
Even Victoria was astonished and wanted to ask when he learned to do that.
"Alexander, you didn't even tell me you had this skill."
Arabella couldn't help but say.
Alexander smiled. For a while, he had thought about going abroad to find Victoria and make pastries with her.
But sometimes, to achieve a goal, you had to do many things, and once those things were done, you might not have dared to pursue the original goal anymore.
Since this was Strawberry's first New Year, everyone was pleased. In their joy, Eloise gave the household staff time off to enjoy the New Year.
After the staff left, the large house was once again just for the family.
"Victoria, have a little wine tonight."
Arabella reminded.
"Okay."
Victoria agreed.
Alexander was pouring drinks for everyone. When he got to Victoria, he suddenly held the bottle and looked at her, saying, "What are you still worried about?"
Victoria looked at him with her gentle, innocent eyes.
Sometimes she found his words confusing.
"Anyone who says something annoying tonight has to dance."
Arabella suddenly suggested.
Alexander immediately felt targeted but didn't say much.
Victoria didn't have much breast milk; otherwise, she wouldn't have to mix it with formula for Strawberry.
He had another idea in mind but hadn't mentioned it yet.
"I have a thought."
Eloise suddenly brought up.
Everyone looked at her, but she just looked kindly at Victoria, "Victoria, I think you can start enjoying food and wine earlier. Strawberry is already six months old, and you don't have much breast milk. I think we can wean her off breast milk."
"I agree. My two kids were also weaned off breast milk at six months."
Arabella completely agreed.
The men didn't express any opinions, and Victoria was a bit confused.
"Okay."
But weaning Strawberry off breast milk wasn't something that had to be done immediately, so Victoria agreed for now.
She thought it would be a gradual process anyway.
Alexander, however, sipped his wine in frustration.
Victoria almost left today. If she weaned Strawberry off breast milk, would she leave with even less burden?
"Victoria is so obedient. She does whatever we say, unlike Alexander. He's five years older than Victoria but still doesn't understand anything."
Eloise immediately teased.
Alexander smiled helplessly, "You don't know the whole story about us."
"Really? Then why don't you tell me everything that happened? Everyone's here, and we can judge if it's your fault."
Eloise continued.
Alexander glanced at Victoria and simply said, "I have a bit of a fever. After dinner, I'll go sleep with Strawberry."
"I almost forgot about that. Since you're sick, don't touch Strawberry, and Victoria too. Even though you're not sick, you're his primary contact, so you might have germs. Neither of you is allowed to sleep with Strawberry, and you must disinfect before holding her during the day."
Arabella suddenly realized.
Victoria was surprised and had nothing to say after hearing it all.
The word "disinfect" seemed a bit exaggerated.
"Anyway, you two can sleep in the living room tonight."
Maximus suddenly suggested.
Alexander looked at Maximus, and Maximus looked back. It seemed they reached some sort of understanding and both lowered their heads.
Dinner was quite enjoyable for everyone.
Alexander was sick, and Victoria was still in her lactation period, so neither of them ate much.
The elders, however, ate more tonight. After dinner, they had coffee and watched TV for a while. After ten, the large living room was left with just the two of them.
Alexander looked at Victoria, who was far away from him. Victoria, feeling tired, looked at him, "Can I go to sleep now?"
"What?"
Alexander frowned.
"I'm a bit sleepy."
Victoria explained.
"Don't you think I, being sick, am also sleepy? Come over here."
"No, I'm fine here."
Victoria instinctively refused.
Alexander immediately said, "This is the best spot to watch TV. The next show features your favorite actor."
When the actor appeared, it was indeed her favorite. She then sat over.
Hesitating too much would seem exaggerated.
There was enough space between them for two more people. Alexander leaned over to pick up a plate of cherries, ate one himself, and then offered the plate to her.
Victoria saw the cherries and instinctively looked at him, but he was staring at the TV.
She took the plate, "Thank you."
"You want the whole plate?"
Alexander suddenly questioned, looking at her.
Victoria was immediately embarrassed and didn't know what to do, but she held onto the plate.
"You have a good appetite."
Alexander just said that then leaned back into a comfortable position, his elbow resting on the back of the sofa, his hand supporting his ear.
Victoria's breathing became lighter because his chest was facing her.
Even though there was still some distance, and he was staring at the TV, it felt like he was watching her.
Especially when she ate the cherries, she felt like he was watching her, and the side of her face he could see quickly flushed.
Alexander was indeed staring at her, feeling a bit dejected.
Her little mouth was pink, contrasting sharply with the cherries.
Why was it that the only thing she put in her mouth was that cherry?
Alexander quickly frowned and suddenly leaned over.
Victoria was startled and leaned to the side, watching him warily.
Alexander's hand held the fruit plate, "Put it here, and we'll share."
"Okay."
Victoria realized her reaction was a bit much and quickly placed it between them.
With something between them, she felt more at ease.
But later, when she reached for a cherry, her fingers brushed against his.
Alexander silently took a cherry and moved away from the plate, but Victoria couldn't take one and placed her hand obediently on her lap.
"Here you go."
Alexander suddenly offered her a cherry.
