Chapter 492 Victoria, You Were Full of Flaws
"What is it, Victoria?" Alexander asked her so deeply.
"It's a bracelet." Victoria withdrew her gaze from him and gently closed the box containing the bracelet.
Alexander stared at her. "Wear the bracelet if you like it."
Victoria could only look at him again, trying to refute him with her eyes.
But the refutation was ineffective because he quickly concluded, "This only proves that what you like is me."
"Yes, what I like is you." Victoria suddenly affirmed his conclusionvery seriously.
She held the box and whispered, "But I'm not your type."
"I stated it then to avoid you believing I wanted to force you into marriage," Alexander said.
Victoria looked at him in surprise.
He smiled, took her yogurt stick, and approached her, taking the box from her hand and opening it.
After finishing the yogurt stick, he felt a bit cold. He endured it for a while until he felt better, then directly tied the bracelet on Victoria's wrist.
Victoria silently watched his actions and couldn't help but ask him softly, "How many women can you do this for?"
"Just one." Alexander looked at her wrist and said, then continued to sit next to her, leaning back, eating the yogurt stick, and watching a talk show.
He preferred watching her because the talkshow was boring.
Victoria looked at him, resisting the impulse to toss the two test findings in his face and ask whether he knew the truth.
She got up and left, initially wanting to take back her yogurt stick, but seeing he was already eating it, she just walked away.
Alexander watched her leave, sitting there depressed. Suddenly realizing he was eating her yogurt stick, he stuffed the rest into his mouth, leaned over to throw the two wrappers into the trash, and then lay back on the sofa.
If he had gone to the bedroom now, she would definitely have thought he was going to cling to her again.
He turned to see the two hospital bags under the table, but he still looked at the TV.
Victoria entered the room, raised her wrist, and examined his bracelet.
He probably didn't know that she cherished everything he gave her.
But that didn't mean she was happy wearing it.
She didn't want to think about accepting his gifts. Why refuse when she wouldn't take anything if she left that day?
Later, it became quiet outside, but she still leaned against the door, quietly reaching behind to lock it.
Alexander would better not come in again to avoid unnecessary arguments.
She returned to the bed and saw the green fruit knife on the bed.
He placed her hand above her head, and she accidentally touched and took it.
She called him softly, "Alexander."
She was sweating as she held the small knife, but Alexander stared at her eyes as cold as a spring, immediately looked above her head, and slowly backed away when he saw it was a knife.
She had used all her strength at that time, but she couldn't win.
But the small knife in her hand made him let go of her.
They were disheveled at that time.
Victoria thought about his eyes back then and felt that even without the knife, he probably wouldn't have really forced himself on her, right?
He had scared her more than once or twice.
She put the knife back into the seam of the bed by the pillow, hoping it wouldn't pop out again.
In the middle of the night, she couldn't warm her bed, tightly hugging the quilt with her eyes open.
It was freezing.
Why was it pouring so hard now? Wasthe wind so strong?
Was he still outside?
There was no quilt outside, and the floor heating had been malfunctioning for days, not heating at all. Victoria couldn't help but worry.
She felt a bit ridiculous, wanting to separate from him while worrying about him catching a cold.
'Forget it, don't care about him.' She whispered.
She turned over and glanced at the ceiling light, remembering him making soup for her, worrying about being reprimanded, accompanying her to prenatal checks, buying pregnancy tests for her, and waiting for the results. She sat up again without delay.
She couldn't just forget it.
There was still a big client with whom to sign a contract tomorrow afternoon. He couldn't get sick.
Victoria opened the closet to find a down quilt, then hugged it and opened the door.
Everything was quiet around; the TV was still on, and although muted, it allowed her to see the sleeping man clearly.
Victoria crept over and laid the quilt on him. As she prepared to cover him, she accidentally froze.
At this moment, she was bending over, holding the quilt corner.
And he was lying on the other side, staring straight at her.
After awakening, she rose, eager to explain but too embarrassed to say anything.
Alexander whispered, "Thank you."
Victoria thought he would ask what she was doing, but it was just a thank you, not answering questions.
She secretly breathed a sigh of relief. "You're welcome, go back to sleep."
"Victoria," he called.
"What is it?" She was about to leave but stopped.
Perhaps it was late at night and too quiet, but she didn't feel threatened.
She couldn't connect him to the man who had left hickeys all over her neck.
He was now quiet, like a noble young master.
"Could you please turn off the TV for me?" He politely requested.
"Okay," Victoria instinctively agreed, her voice also very soft.
Then she went to find the remote controller.
She checked the TV, confirming he had kept the channel the same, and saw the news replaying.
Only a pack of Kleenex was on the table, which was spotless.
It wasn't by his leg either, so the remote controller should be...
"Is the remote controller under you?" Victoria asked.
"No, I wanted to turn it off before lying down, but I couldn't find the remote controller, so I didn't turn it off," he replied.
"Really?" Victoria believed him and immediately looked around the floor again.
"Could it have fallen under the sofa? Or under the table?" Alexander suddenly questioned.
"I'll check," Victoria said, really returning to the space between the sofa and the table, squatting down and then kneeling. Otherwise, she couldn't see.
Only by kneeling and leaning could she see inside.
"Nothing here." Victoria found it strange. She couldn't have taken it to the bedroom, right?
She started to hallucinate, imagining she had taken the remote controller back then.
She knelt down and thought seriously. She didn't take it. Her hands were empty when he put the bracelet on her.
She leaned down again, looking under the sofa. It was dark, and she couldn't see anything. She asked softly, "Alexander, can I borrow your phone's flashlight? I can't see."
She slightly raised her head.
Alexander was already lying on his side, staring straight at her. "The phone is in the bedroom, probably on the bed."
"Are you worried about me catching a cold?" Alexander asked.
"Of course not." Victoria suddenly felt she was being played and immediately got up to leave.
After being grasped by the hand and waist, she was pushed into a warm and familiar chest, and her legs raised before she could stand.
Alexander's warm breath was on her neck. "Victoria, you're full of flaws."
