Chapter 810 Weak Waist
Victoria still responded softly, then turned and walked out.
"Victoria."
"I'll go make a call first."
"Victoria, damn it."
Alexander called out to her, but she went out and immediately closed the door on him, making him so angry that he kicked the table, only to hurt his toe badly.
"I made the call."
When Victoria reopened the door, she saw him grimacing while holding his shiny leather shoe.
Alexander turned his head at the sound, instantly fuming.
Victoria remained calm, "What's wrong with you?"
"I'll go make a call first."
Seeing him not speak, Victoria felt puzzled and afraid of making trouble, so she quickly and gently closed the door again and went to make the call.
Alexander was thoroughly confused with anger.
She still cared about him, so why did she have to provoke him?
They already had Strawberry, why couldn't they live happily together?
Victoria didn't attend the lunch with those big shots at noon. She left work early before the doctor got off and drove her car to the hospital.
Samuel was on duty at the outpatient department. When he heard the door open and saw her, he was pleasantly surprised, "Victoria? Are you here to see a doctor?"
"Yeah, Mr. Hall, long time no see."
"Please, have a seat."
Samuel offered courteously.
Victoria walked over and sat down. They didn't talk much; she told Samuel she hadn't divorced, and Samuel, not the clingy type, just seriously helped her with the check-up.
Victoria didn't see Alexander again in the afternoon. Before it got dark, as she was coming out of the office building, Felix's car was already parked there.
"Mrs. Victoria Harrington, Mrs. Eloise Harrington asked me to pick you up and take you home."
"Okay, thank you, Felix."
Victoria smiled and agreed, immediately getting into the car when Felix opened the door for her.
Since she had told Eloise in advance that she would return to Metro House, she wasn't surprised that Eloise had Felix come to pick her up.
Eloise was always so thoughtful.
But they didn't expect the car to stop halfway.
Victoria was taken aback when she saw that figure standing in front of them.
And that person walked directly to the back.
Victoria instinctively moved inward. Alexander, looking at his phone, got in, not even raising his head. After closing the door, he continued to sit beside her, looking at his phone.
Victoria couldn't help but stare at him for almost ten seconds before turning to look out her window.
Finally, she couldn't help but turn back, "Are you going to Metro House?"
"Obviously."
He replied curtly.
"Did you forget there's a banquet at 7:30 tonight?"
"Couldn't find a date, so I canceled."
Alexander replied indifferently, continuing to look at his phone.
Victoria couldn't help but lean over to see what he was busy with, but he immediately turned off his phone and looked at her, "What's up?"
"I can help you find a date."
"Ms. Kensington, you can not only find a date for your husband but also a lover."
"Rest assured, I've never doubted your ability in this regard."
Victoria didn't feel he was genuinely complimenting her. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Thank you, Mr. Harrington, for the affirmation."
Alexander immediately stared at her, feeling like he was going to explode with anger.
He was so angry that he couldn't even see her face.
And where had she gone at noon?
The two of them didn't speak to each other again before arriving at Metro House.
After getting out of the car, Alexander instinctively stood by the side, waiting.
Unexpectedly, the door on the opposite side opened.
He looked up and saw her coming out from the other side; it felt like a cold wind blew through his heart, even colder than the spring chill, and he had to hold back his anger and close the car door.
After all, he wouldn't let himself get caught up in petty arguments.
Victoria heard the sound of him closing the car door and realized he intended for her to exit from his side. Just as she was about to say something, he had already turned and walked inside.
Victoria lowered her head and followed.
Before reaching the door, he suddenly stopped.
Victoria felt the hair on her forehead almost touch something and immediately raised her head, stepping back.
Alexander sneered, his tone slightly raised, "Do I have the plague?"
Victoria stared at him, not understanding why he was so angry.
"You skipped such an important lunch meeting just to see Samuel?"
Victoria was puzzled and was about to ask how he knew she went to the hospital, but then she remembered Frank had been following her.
"Are you already eager to find your next boyfriend?"
Alexander questioned forcefully again.
"Grandma is watching from the window."
"So what? Do you still want to pretend we're a loving couple?"
Victoria didn't understand why he was suddenly so angry.
After all, she hadn't said anything harsh to him.
She had been following his instructions.
Thinking this, she lowered her head and walked inside.
Unexpectedly, her wrist was immediately grabbed, and her body was quickly spun around by a strong force.
Her heart pounded, and when she came to her senses, she looked up to see Alexander's proud yet aggrieved eyes.
She saw grievance in his eyes.
How was that possible?
Victoria thought she must have misunderstood, so she ignored his burning chest, lowered the hand she had instinctively placed on his heart, and softly asked, "Mr. Harrington, do you have any other instructions?"
Alexander held his breath, silently locking eyes with her.
Victoria even felt his breath was filled with grievance, which was truly unbelievable.
"Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, come inside quickly, it's getting windy."
Mason came out to mediate just in time.
Alexander still hadn't let go of her wrist, holding it tightly in his arms.
Seeing he wouldn't let go, Victoria had to remind him, "Alexander."
Only then did Alexander release her and walk inside first.
Victoria sighed helplessly, rubbed her sore wrist, and followed him in.
The elders were all sitting in the living room. After entering, Alexander unhappily went upstairs to find Strawberry. Eloise called Victoria to the living room, "What's wrong with you two? As soon as he came back, he went to find Strawberry as if someone was going to take her away from him."
"Maybe he's a bit dissatisfied with the content of his afternoon meeting."
Victoria thought for a moment and found that excuse most suitable.
"So it's a work issue. Later, tell him not to bring work emotions home."
Arabella instructed Maximus.
Maximus smiled and nodded in agreement.
But based on his understanding of Alexander, it probably wasn't that.
Maximus and Arabella had lingered at the door for several minutes before coming in.
And Alexander had raised his voice a bit earlier, so they had heard a little.
He was just jealous.
But Alexander's jealousy was different from others, being contradictory and very stubborn.
After dinner, the first rain of the year arrived, mixed with a bit of light snow.
The elders suggested they not go back, and Eloise said, "If you're unhappy, don't bring bad emotions to Strawberry, go sleep in the guest room."
Alexander had just picked up a strawberry to eat, and upon hearing this, he couldn't help but frown at Eloise.
He felt certain he wasn't the one Eloise cared about.
"But can you sleep with Strawberry? Although she doesn't wake up much at night now, occasionally she does once or twice, and I'm afraid your back can't handle it."
Arabella expressed concern for Victoria.
"It's okay; I had a check-up today..."
"What a joke, you went for a check-up?"
Alexander suddenly sneered.
