Chapter 12 Jealousy
"Aren’t you?"
The look in his eyes suggested that he had caught her in infidelity. But it was he who had cheated and even impregnated another woman.
She suddenly recalled what he had said when she entered the room and connected it with Adrian. Surprised, she looked at him, "Did you... have someone follow me?"
She couldn't understand. It was inconceivable. Why would he do that?
When Adrian had mentioned it wasn't a paparazzo, she hadn't thought much of it, assuming they were following Adrian. After all, Adrian had just won the best new actor award and was about to start a concert, so he was under a lot of scrutiny. But...
She hadn't expected that the person following her would be one of Alexander’s.
"I had someone follow you? You think too highly of yourself. It's just that someone happened to see Mrs. Harrington entering a secluded café with a man and sent it to me." His tone was infuriating.
So that was it.
Her heart fluttered, but she quickly believed his words.
However, curiosity drove her to look at him again, "Who was that person?"
"Hmm?"
"Not many people know that I am Mrs. Harrington."
It could even be said that they were few and far between. Those who knew tonight were at Isabella's place. Were there any other people?
"That's not something you need to know. All you need to know is that I won't allow you to move out or resign. You need to stay here obediently, where I can see you and know your whereabouts at all times."
"Why?"
Victoria was stunned.
What kind of unreasonable demand was this?
Although they hadn't gone to court, after signing the divorce papers, it was almost the same as divorcing.
"Because this is what we, the Harrington Family, owe you. I said before, whatever you want, just ask, and I will satisfy you."
Victoria looked at the man in front of her and suddenly felt at a loss for words.
Why did she feel that she owed the Harrington Family?
Alexander looked at the crystal-clear thing welling up in her eyes and asked her, "Are you so moved?"
Moved?
Where did he see that she was moved?
She was about to lose her composure and was silently pinching her thigh. Just then, Alexander's phone rang.
He glanced at the phone, then looked at her and answered, "Hello? Why aren't you asleep yet?"
The way he talked to Isabella was different, like a refreshing breeze.
"There's something up; you go to sleep first. Sleeping late isn't good for the fetus."
He was still leaning against her while on the call.
But he was concerned...
She couldn't bear to listen any longer and took the opportunity to slip away from under his arm.
After Alexander hung up the phone, he stood there in thought, letting out a soft sigh.
Only when Victoria was far away did she dare to turn around, "I'm moving out, and I'll resign."
She was still determined about this.
Alexander frowned slightly, but then just chuckled.
He could hear her obstinacy and her stubbornness, but her voice carried a softness that made it pleasant to the ear, even when she was angry or unhappy...
She went to bed late that night. She needed to find a place to live.
After searching for almost two hours, she was so tired that she could barely keep her eyes open. She lay on the bed, and for some reason, she couldn't stop crying. She suddenly thought, why was she still looking for a house in this strange city?
She should go back to her own home.
She didn't need to be a burden to the Harrington family, to be his burden.
She didn't need him to owe her anything.
Right now, all she wanted was to be free.
In the private room of the Harrington Company hotel.
The originally bustling scene suddenly quieted down.
"Let them go."
Alexander walked in from outside, looking annoyed.
Edward Sinclair quickly sent the pretty girls away, and the room quickly quieted down.
"Where did you come from?"
Edward saw that he was unhappy and asked.
After the staff came in to clean up, he took a seat.
"Regal Retreat."
He said it lightly, looking at the cigarettes on the table and leaning over to light one.
"Is it because Isabella is pregnant and won't sleep with you?"
William looked at his frustrated appearance and asked.
Alexander laughed sarcastically at the question but didn't reply.
"I heard the first three months require extra care, just endure it."
Sebastian Montague, who was used to a life of pleasure, reminded him.
