Chapter 113 No Mind for Manners Now

Alexander's voice echoed in the pristine room, "The room is cleaned and disinfected regularly; how could there possibly be a cockroach?"

Victoria was left speechless, her gaze fixed on him in a dumbfounded stare. She was suddenly at a loss for words. Was he playing a trick on her? Right now, of all times?

Her anger flared up, her body tensing as she attempted to break free from his grip, but he held on tightly. "Let go of me," she demanded.

Alexander, too, was rendered speechless. Had he really managed to incite her anger? He had merely caught her in a hurried attempt to prevent her fall. Wasn't a thank you in order? She used to thank him profusely, but now, it seemed, she had forgotten all about manners in an instant.

Yet, he found himself drawn to this fiery side of Victoria. He thought the nickname 'Vicky' suited her fiery spirit better than her formal name. He quietly dubbed her with this affectionate moniker in his mind.

Victoria, the name was stern, befitting a bright girl. But how could such an intelligent girl neglect to call her husband home for so long? Alexander found himself pondering over this more than he had anticipated. Why had he gotten drunk that night? Maybe...

"Let go of me!" Victoria's voice, laced with panic, interrupted his thoughts.

"Okay," Alexander agreed, releasing her.

Victoria, now half-kneeling on the bed with her upper body leaning heavily against him, found it difficult to rise.

Damn.

Her face, already flushed, burned even hotter with embarrassment. Alexander, looking down at her, couldn't help but chuckle.

Victoria slid down, and then... Had she forgotten to give him his underwear again? Her face quickly turned a deep shade of red, and with a forceful push, she flopped downward.

"Umm." Alexander didn't feel so great either. She had forcefully extricated herself and now lay motionless at the foot of the bed. He backed away, a pained frown etched on his face.

Victoria felt like she never wanted to face anyone again in her life. What had she just touched?

Alexander struggled to breathe, "Victoria, if you've damaged it, you're done for."

Victoria thought of the embarrassing scene, which was actually more about him. She looked up at him, her gaze dazed and foolish. "The honor of the Harrington family ravaged by you in one fell swoop."

Alexander was left speechless. What the heck? "Grandma is waiting to hold her great-grandchild, but I don't feel too good."

Victoria didn't know how to respond. Didn’t feel too good? What on earth was he saying? "It seems you hit it too hard."

Victoria slowly started to realize what he was implying and was shocked to her core. He was talking about...his thing.

Unwillingly, she glanced in that direction again before quickly shutting her eyes, "What does it have to do with me?"

"Aren't you wearing any clothes underneath?"

"Huh?" Victoria froze, then slowly opened her eyes. Seeing the face that had suddenly come so close. His face loomed large before her, and then she felt her lips being kissed again. His mouth had a familiar taste of mint. Oh, she had used that toothpaste to brush her teeth as well. Their mouths shared the same flavor. Yet, it felt slightly different.

Victoria felt something was off. They had only shared a single drink. Was she really tipsy this soon? She wanted to slap herself for her foolishness, but she quickly realized why she was clutching his shirt collar: her body was sliding downward again.

Alexander effortlessly slid his arms under her armpits and hoisted her up. Now, kneeling at the end of the bed, the position was even more suggestive.
