Chapter 438 Rockland Street

As she turned around, a spark of joy appeared in her eyes.

Perhaps it was because Victoria saw that fair-skinned boy.

He was still sitting against the wall, bound and gagged.

His face was already covered in tears, and his eyes were filled with fear.

At that moment, Victoria's mind immediately flashed back to that night of her own.

Victoria walked over thoughtfully while the boy looked at her warily.

At this moment, the boy found Victoria extremely terrifying, as if a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Mrs. Harrington," several men called out in unison. Victoria acknowledged them, but her attention remained on the boy.

As she approached, the men stepped aside. She knelt down beside him.

The boy's legs twitched, indicating he wanted to flee.

"Don't be afraid, it was just a false alarm," she whispered, then gently removed the tie from his mouth with her soft hand.

Before leaving, Sebastian also glanced inside, surprised by Victoria's actions. 'What is Victoria doing exactly?'

Sebastian, not understanding, still had to take Isabella to see a doctor first.

Isabella was actually lying in the back seat, slowly opening her eyes, thinking, 'Do I lose this round? No, I won't lose.'

Isabella was unaware of everything outside the car window, but she had other plans.

With the wind at her back, Victoria smiled faintly at the boy. "Good luck to you."

The boy looked directly at Victoria in astonishment, tears still streaming down.

Victoria thought he must be extremely scared at that moment. Her eyes were still red, but she couldn't bear to frighten him further.

The boy was shocked and couldn't help but keep looking at her back.

She seemed different.

As he watched her walk away, Victoria no longer seemed like a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Instead, she seemed a bit free-spirited, like a righteous female hero.

As Victoria walked further away, surrounded by people again, the boy instantly curled up into a ball.

The boy had never experienced complex human relationships, not knowing how treacherous people's hearts could be.

Isaac and Alexander were still inside. Alexander now stood at the window, his hands casually in his pockets, looking at him and asking softly, "Why don't you speak up?"

Isaac remained silent but felt a sense of relief. Victoria said it was just a false alarm, so he knew the boy outside wouldn't be implicated, easing his mind a bit.

"You will be convicted," Alexander said before leaving.

Isaac sat there, feeling like the darkness of life was always with him.

Victoria walked dejectedly on the street. When Alexander's car passed by slowly, Victoria didn't care, even taking off her shoes to hit his car.

When a taxi drove towards them, Alexander glanced at it.

Later, Alexander followed the taxi because his barefoot wife was inside.

That night, after Alexander finished exercising and went downstairs to have a drink with Benjamin before finding Victoria, he heard Benjamin say, "I hear Isabella is still in the emergency room."

"Victoria is still mad at me," Alexander said indifferently, unrelated to Isabella.

"Is Victoria angry that you're not punishing Isabella?" Benjamin understood the subtlety and cooperated to change the subject.

"In Victoria's eyes, the world is either good or evil," Alexander said.

"Yes, she still has some innocence, too young to be involved in such messy affairs." Benjamin looked at his glass, then asked him, "So how are you going to appease her?"

Alexander smiled at the glass, not really knowing.

After the events of the day, Victoria's gaze toward him became even colder, as if he were her enemy.

She looked ready to kill him if he dared to let his guard down.

Alexander thought about how Victoria's parents had left to attend his family's elders' banquet. Suddenly, feeling annoyed again, he poured himself a drink, drank it, and then said, "I'm leaving."

"Where are you going?" Benjamin asked.

"Rockland Street," Alexander replied.
