Chapter 931 He Holds Grudges Against His Wife the Most

"I heard Isabella's cell is empty now. She must have been released."

"Who dares to defy the law and release her?"

Eloise immediately questioned angrily.

"Rumor has it that it was Isabella's former lover, and..."

Diana's gaze sharpened with intensity."Even if she could get out, the person helping her couldn't be Alexander."

Brett thought about it and was very certain of the answer.

"Grandpa, do you trust Alexander that much? People say Alexander and Isabella used to be very close."

"If Alexander cared about her, would he provide evidence to send her to prison?"

"Exactly, you can't just say things like that. Victoria already suspects Alexander and Isabella of having an affair. If you keep talking like this, Victoria will be even more suspicious."

After Brett finished speaking, Eloise reminded her.

"Grandma, I suddenly feel that Victoria is pitiful in our family. It looks like we care more about her, but in reality, we care more about Alexander."

Diana remarked, resting her chin on her hand.

"Diana, caring about Alexander is just like caring about Victoria," Eloise added.

"Why?" Diana didn't understand.

"A home is not a place for confrontation," Brett replied to Diana.

Diana pondered but couldn't understand, and she didn't want to delve into it.

Because she wanted a home, apart from her parents' home.

But thinking of Curtis made Diana frustrated.

In the evening, Diana went to Victoria and Alexander's place and found out that Victoria had stayed home all day. She suggested, "Victoria, you should go out and get some fresh air."

"The air at home is good too."

Victoria's eyes were on Strawberry, afraid she might fall, and she seemed a bit absent-minded.

"No matter how good it is at home, you can't stay in all day. Were you a homebody girl before?" Diana asked.

"No."

Victoria didn't like staying home much before.

But now, where could she go?

The house was so expansive that she could meander through it for an entire morning and still have explored it thoroughly. Besides, the weather was so hot, she didn't want to go out.

If it wasn't necessary, she could stay home for ten days or half a month.

Diana stared at Victoria for a while, then went up and picked up Strawberry. "Victoria, do you think I look like Strawberry?"

"Yes."

Their expressions were quite similar.

"If I ever don't dare to have kids, can you let Strawberry accompany me more often?"

"Sure, but why wouldn't you dare to have kids?"

"I'm afraid of the pain, but maybe it's also because I don't have a man to have them with."

Diana thought of Curtis.

Victoria smiled at this and didn't say much.

As it got late, Alfred's voice came from the door.

"Mr. Harrington is back."

"Is Victoria here?"

"Yes, Mrs. Harrington is in the living room with Ms. Diana Harrington and Strawberry."

Alfred took Alexander's coat and expressed.

Hearing that Victoria was there, Alexander strode inside with long steps.

When he reached the living room, he suddenly bent down, his hand reaching the floor as if picking something up.

Diana, holding Strawberry, watched him, and Victoria looked at him, puzzled. "What are you doing?"

"Wrong, it was the light. I thought something had fallen on the floor."

Alexander mentioned as he stood up and continued walking forward.

Victoria was slightly worried.

Alexander walked in and continued, "During the meeting today, I missed catching the cup, and it smashed on the floor, scaring Graham a lot. Graham insisted on taking me to the hospital."

Victoria felt even worse hearing this.

She thought, 'Maybe Alexander should go to the hospital tomorrow.'

'But the doctor said Alexander just needed to rest quietly, really...'

Diana stood silently by the side, covering her smile.

She thought Alexander did it on purpose.

"Alexander, look at Strawberry's hand. She got pricked by a toothpick today."

"Which one?"

Alexander quickly stepped forward.

Victoria was puzzled by Diana's words and followed.

Alexander carefully checked each of Strawberry's fingers. When Victoria got closer, his gaze deepened. He glanced at Diana and then lowered his eyes. "Which finger got pricked? I don't see it."

He almost lifted Strawberry's hand to his eyelids.

"Could I have remembered wrong?"

Diana lowered her head, playing along.

Victoria looked at the two of them and softly asked, "What are you two doing?"

"I lost something too. Come upstairs and help me find it."

"What did you lose?"

Victoria hadn't figured it out yet when Alexander already took her hand and led her to the stairs.

"Daddy?" Strawberry called out.

"I'll be right back."

Alexander didn't look back and took Victoria upstairs.

At the bedroom door, Victoria probed, "What exactly did you lose..."

Before she could finish, she was suddenly pulled into the room, and as the door closed, she was pressed against the wall.

"My heart."

Victoria's face heated up.

Alexander looked down at her, his voice particularly husky, "I've been missing you all day."

"What's there to miss me?"

Victoria lowered her eyes, not wanting to be so close to him.

But his body lazily pressed against hers, not seeming forceful but rather teasing.

She felt her heartbeat becoming irregular, a wave of fear washing over her as she wondered what might happen next. She raised her hand to push his chest.

But Alexander grabbed her hand, his voice sexual and hard to bear, "I was wondering if you'd sneak away again while I was asleep tonight."

Victoria was angry and helpless.

Her hand was pressed against his chest, feeling his eager heartbeat. She looked up at him, recalling what he mentioned when he sent her away, feeling more and more frustrated.

"With that look, are you plotting to get rid of me tonight?" He looked at her seriously.

Victoria understood his meaning. She had escaped when he wasn't paying attention many times before.

When it came to holding grudges, no one could beat Alexander.

But he seemed to hold grudges the most against his wife.

Victoria gradually frowned. Why was she still so aware of being his wife?

Last time, when Ursa scolded her, she was unhappy and retorted, feeling like she was Alexander's wife, and no one else could control her.

She knew she had been spoiled since childhood, but she had suppressed it in recent years.

"Don't run away tonight, okay?"

Alexander murmured in a sexy, low voice.

"My stomach hurts, I can't do it."

Thinking of being pressed by him twice last night made Victoria feel like she was suffocating, so she refused without thinking.

"Who said anything about making love? I just want to hold you in my arms."

Alexander gently touched her chin and then rubbed her lips.

Victoria's lips moved slightly, trying to avoid it, but his thumb pressed down on her lower lip, making her instantly tense up.

Alexander suddenly felt as if he couldn't breathe, his thumb resting in her mouth as he took in the sight of her.
