Chapter 503 Alexander Counted Again
"Victoria glanced over and saw Alexander's slender, sexy fingers resting in the middle.
She'd been obsessed with those hands for half a century. Was she supposed to put hers on top now?
Her heartbeat quickened. She loved him so much.
Her small hand gently rested on her leg, slowly retracting inward, and she looked out the window again.
Victoria thought to herself, 'No, I can't. He hasn't been tested yet.'
After about a minute, Alexander glanced at Victoria in the passenger seat, looked down at her hidden hand, and instead of getting angry, he smiled.
For some reason, he felt the weather suddenly turned nice today. The sky was blue and cloudless.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of Alexander's usually cold eyes, and he gently placed his fingers back on the steering wheel.
""I have some big news,"" Olivia said.
""What big news?"" Victoria asked.
""This morning, I saw a CEO and his mistress coming out of a hotel one after the other. If we sell this scoop to a platform, it would be too much of a loss. Instead...""
""What?""
""Let's start a media company together.""
""What?""
""Start a media company.""
Olivia looked at Victoria, very firm in her idea.
However, she didn't know if Victoria would agree.
Victoria's eyes lit up after she heard this. She habitually lowered her head when thinking, then quickly looked at Olivia again and asked, ""How much investment is needed?""
""Don't worry. You can definitely afford it,"" Olivia smiled and said.
""It can't rely on Alexander,"" Victoria said firmly.
""So, you're agreeing?"" Olivia asked.
""Yes,"" Victoria replied.
Victoria held considerable assets, including generational wealth accumulated by her family.
She was planning to resign anyway, and after resigning, she would need to find something to do. Working for herself was better than working for others.
Thinking this way, Victoria agreed with Olivia's proposal.
They calculated the investment, rent, operations, and miscellaneous costs, and they were almost done eating.
Victoria curiously asked, ""What was the big news you mentioned earlier?""
If it was a big enough scoop, they might be able to make their money back.
Olivia replied, ""Isabella and her lover.""
Victoria shouted, ""What?""
""You don't believe me? Just this morning, I came out of the Frosty Summit Hotel, and the three of us took the same elevator,"" Olivia explained seriously.
Victoria said, ""If it was this morning, I believe it. But wasn't Sebastian out of town?""
Olivia asked, ""Sebastian? How could it be Sebastian? It was Timothy, the owner of the Reed Group.""
""Timothy?"" Victoria was confused. 'The richest man in the west side of town?'
""Yeah. Isabella had an affair with him when she was in school. Didn't you know that?"" Olivia asked.
Victoria indeed knew Isabella had been with an older man.
""You know Isabella has been a hot topic in our town these days, right? I plan to strike while the iron is hot. What do you think?"" Olivia asked.
""Sounds good,"" Victoria replied.
Victoria knew the procedures for registering a company, and because she had been working as a secretary for the past two years, she had become very meticulous. She quickly listed a series of requirements.
Victoria suddenly became busy and didn't go home for several days.
Alexander returned to The Harrington Mansion, sitting next to Eloise, waiting for her to call Victoria.
It was past seven in the evening, and it was dark outside. The house was brightly lit, creating a special ambiance.
Eloise's voice, when it sounded, made the whole mansion feel even more luxurious.
""Victoria, where are you? You haven't come to see me for days,"" Eloise said.
""Grandma, I'll come back in a couple of days. Olivia isn't feeling well and asked me to stay with her for a few days,"" Victoria replied.
""Olivia? What's wrong with her?"" Eloise asked.
""She keeps having nightmares and says she's afraid to sleep alone,"" Victoria replied.
""I see, alright then,"" Eloise said.
Eloise hung up the phone, muttering, ""What's wrong with Olivia? Victoria said she's having nightmares and needs her to stay for a few days.""
Alexander frowned. Victoria had been acting mysteriously lately. He introduced Olivia to her so she would have a companion. He also told Olivia not to say things she shouldn't to Victoria, but now...
It was drizzling outside, and the butler walked in from the front and said, ""Mr. Harrington, it's raining. Are you staying?""
""It's raining? Then I'll stay overnight and leave tomorrow,"" Eloise said to Alexander.
""I'll go. Thank you, Grandma,"" Alexander said.
Alexander's eyes flickered, and he hugged Eloise's shoulders with a flattering smile before getting up.
He thought, 'I can't let Olivia lead Victoria astray.'
""This brat. He just used me and then left me aside,"" Eloise muttered.
""Did Mr. Harrington go to find Mrs. Harrington?"" the butler asked.
""Of course,"" Eloise smiled and said.
The butler couldn't help but laugh.
It made sense. Alexander would definitely do that.
At home, his eyes never left Victoria.
""I just hope they get married soon and have a baby. Victoria is so cute; their baby will definitely be even cuter,"" Eloise said expectantly.
""Sure thing."" The butler laughed along.
Alexander returned to Regal Retreat and sat on the first floor.
Edward didn't come back until nine. When he saw Alexander at Benjamin's place, he asked, ""What are you doing here?""
Alexander didn't reply but asked, ""Why are you back so late?""
Edward replied, ""I went out for dinner.""
""What did you eat?""
""Olivia had a bit of a cold, so I went to cook some pasta for her. By the way, Victoria is there too.""
After Alexander heard that, he was instantly displeased.
Benjamin rubbed his chin, trying to hold back his laughter, but he couldn't help but chuckle.
Alexander said with a sullen expression, ""Come out with me now.""
Benjamin said, ""I drank, so I can't drive.""
Alexander retorted, ""I didn't drink.""
Seeing Alexander striding out, Edward asked Benjamin in a low voice, ""What's wrong with Alexander?""
Benjamin asked, ""Who did you say is at Olivia's place?""
""Victoria,"" Edward replied, then he sighed helplessly and followed him out.
Olivia lived on the 7th floor, and only Edward knew the elevator code.
When Edward opened the door, Alexander glanced inside but quickly looked away.
After all, Alexander was a gentleman who respected women.
""It's Olivia's mom's birthday,"" Edward explained seriously.
Although Alexander didn't want to know this, since Victoria would inevitably be led astray by Olivia in the future, it was good for him to know.
If Alexander had known a few days earlier, he would have gone over and dragged Victoria out.
Edward knocked on the door; seeing Edward, Victoria immediately opened the door wider and asked, ""Mr. Sinclair, why didn't you come in yourself?""
Edward replied, ""With a married woman here, it's not appropriate for me to enter alone at night. Besides...""
Victoria said, ""Olivia is taking a shower.""
Edward blushed awkwardly and said, ""Actually, someone is here to see you.""
""See me? Who?"" Victoria curiously looked to the side. When she saw the black shirt, her heart skipped a beat. She reflexively looked up at Alexander.
Alexander's narrow eyes held a smile but also conveyed a sense of danger. Victoria felt a chill and softly said, ""Hey, Mr. Harrington. Do you need something?""
Alexander remained silent.
Edward stood by, watching the scene unfold. He thought, 'Need something? Victoria is really interesting.'
Victoria said, ""If there's nothing, I'm going to close the door. It's getting late.""
""Alexander knows the code,"" Edward kindly reminded her.
He thought, 'Victoria is cute but too naive. If she closes the door now, she will definitely be in trouble later.'
Hearing Edward's words, Victoria looked at Alexander again and immediately looked like a kitten facing its fierce owner, dejected.
Alexander asked, ""Are you coming out on your own, or do I need to help?""
Victoria said softly, ""I need to take care of Olivia.""
""Three, two..."""
