Chapter 377 Not Wanting to Leave with Regrets
Victoria immediately reached out, grabbing his arm.
But it was like a posture of embracing him.
Alexander lowered his head and looked. It was the first time she held him with both hands, albeit in a dispute.
"Alright, go ahead," he agreed.
He was okay with whatever she wanted to do at that moment. In fact, Victoria was uncertain about who this person was, worried that he might try to show off again purposely.
Opening the door, she felt a bit of regret.
The monitor, installing it and not using it was a real waste.
"Here we meet again. I want to have a chat with you." Isabella looked at her, smiling especially pleasingly.
Victoria remained silent, her gaze becoming colder and colder.
Once Isabella confessed to orchestrating harm towards Victoria at Elysium, Victoria's loathing towards Isabella became impossible to hide.
Her eyes were filled with sharp intensity, much like the edge of a knife. In that moment, she wished she could drive that knife into the heart of the woman who had caused her harm.
Let alone chatting.
"Please leave, and never set foot here again," Victoria ordered.
"Why?" Isabella looked very puzzled.
"Because I would love nothing more than to take your life," Victoria's voice was low but firm.
Isabella took a step back in fear, her face showing incomprehension.
"Is this reason enough?" Victoria asked again.
“Why? I've already apologized, Victoria. A dying person pleads for your forgiveness. Can't you move on? Plus, it's not as if I instructed him to assault you. It was his own choice, his responsibility. What does that have to do with me?" Isabella reiterated.
Victoria sneered, "Do you think I'll believe it was his own decision just because you say so? I never thought the elegant and smart young lady from a respected family would be so ruthless, willing to break the law for a man."
"Break the law? Do you have any proof? If not, please don't make unfounded accusations," Isabella shot back.
"If I had evidence, do you think you would still be standing here?" Victoria said.
"You!" Isabella was stunned.
"If I had evidence, you would have been in jail long ago." Victoria was getting agitated.
“I didn't realize you were so closed-minded. Okay, I'll see it as my own bad luck and leave." Isabella nodded, appearing hurt, but then she took a step back and delicately pressed the back of her hand against her forehead.
"Isabella?" Alexander came out and saw the person outside.
When Isabella heard that voice, she immediately looked up, her face pale, tears quickly streaming down.
Yes, she seemed to have finally found someone she could confide in about her grievances.
"What's wrong with you?" Alexander asked.
"Victoria said she wants my life." Isabella sniffed and suddenly put on a righteous appearance as if ready to sacrifice herself.
Alexander looked at her and smiled. "Okay."
Okay?
Victoria turned back curiously to look at him. The house was too small for her to say anything without Alexander hearing, so she didn't expect any comforting words from him.
But what did ‘Okay’ mean?
Isabella's expression changed from disbelief to a more subdued one as she spoke, "Even if she doesn't want my life, I won't live much longer. I just want to spend more time with friends and hope for Victoria's forgiveness. Alexander, what do you think?" Alexander looked down at Victoria, smiling.
Victoria felt her heart tighten at his smile. ‘What would he say? Would he really think she could be so magnanimous as to forgive and be friends with someone who had someone else rape her?’
As Isabella looked at his eyes and drummed up courage in her heart, she continued, "I just don't want to leave with regrets."
