Chapter 933 Hidden Dangers are Hard to Guard Against
After dinner, just as Alexander was about to carry Strawberry upstairs, Diana suddenly said, "Alexander, I need to talk to you and ask for your help."
"Give Strawberry to me." Victoria immediately wiped her hands and stepped forward to take Strawberry.
The couple both thought Diana was talking about Curtis.
After Victoria consciously stepped aside, Diana pulled Alexander back into the dining room.
The servants inside tactfully withdrew, and Diana whispered, "Did you let Isabella go?"
"What?"
"Daisy said Isabella was released from prison."
After Diana finished speaking, he was immediately stunned.
He looked at Diana's pale face, then followed her gaze and saw Victoria coming back holding Strawberry.
"What happened?" Alexander queried.
"Sorry, I forgot my phone," Victoria explained softly, then went to get her phone while holding Strawberry.
Victoria's phone was on the dining table.
When Victoria picked up her phone and was about to leave, Alexander grabbed her wrist. "Don't go."
Victoria lowered her eyes and didn't say much, only saying, "I'll take Strawberry for a bath first."
"Wait until we finish talking about this, then you can go," Alexander instructed her and kept holding onto her.
Victoria then raised her eyes.
Alexander took Strawberry, then pulled Victoria back to the dining table and sat down.
A servant quickly came to take Strawberry away, and Alexander held Victoria's hand.
Diana slowly walked over and sat down. "Victoria, I didn't mean to hide this from you, I just wanted to find out the truth first."
"I understand," Victoria replied.
She could understand why they wanted to keep this from her. Diana, however, felt that Victoria might feel disrespected.
"I've told you everything about Curtis. I really don't see you as an outsider. I just didn't want you to misunderstand Alexander even more before I figured out what was going on."
"I understand."
Diana explained seriously, and Victoria responded seriously.
"Isabella did leave that prison, I know about this," Alexander said.
The atmosphere in the dining room suddenly became excessively quiet. Diana glanced at Victoria, then nervously looked at Alexander.
At that moment, Victoria felt a bit heartbroken.
He really did let Isabella go at some point.
What she endured was nothing compared to Isabella's importance in his eyes.
Her vision was already blurry, but she just sat there quietly, letting him hold her hand.
She thought, 'No matter how much pain and sadness, it would pass.'
Alexander turned to look at Victoria, who had been keeping her head down, and said, "Isabella was transferred to another prison. If you want to confirm, we can go now."
Diana's eyes widened in surprise.
Victoria also gradually raised her head, looking at him with misty eyes.
"Obviously, the city prison was too lenient for her." Alexander continued.
With this sentence, both women seemed to understand why Isabella was transferred to another prison.
"She's now at Vistalia Prison," Alexander added.
Victoria thought she had misheard.
"Vistalia Prison? The place where only the most heinous criminals are held?" Diana asked first.
"Yes." Alexander tightened his grip on her hand, "I told you I didn't take the knife for her, but to prevent you from facing a lawsuit or even going to prison. You never believed me, so I was always considering whether to tell you this."
Victoria was stunned, unable to say a word.
Alexander continued, "The Montgomery family is not honorable. If you went to prison, you wouldn't be prepared for the kind of humiliation you'd face there."
Victoria stared at him blankly, her mind feeling a bit warm. 'Is everything he said true? Has he really been thinking about me all along?'
"I could certainly arrange for people inside the prison to protect you, but hidden dangers are hard to guard against," Alexander added.
'So that's what it was. I could be at ease now, and I could reassure her elders, too. As for Daisy, it would be better if Daisy wasn't at ease.' Diana reflected for a moment before quietly walking away, deciding to return to her new home.
Although it wasn't very big, Curtis was there.
She missed Curtis.
She wanted to see him, even if he was with Juliette; she wanted to sit between them. She was the woman who couldn't read the room. He said she was tactless.
At that time, she felt so hurt that she got up and left, crying a lot.
When she drove back, she happened to see Curtis sending Juliette out. Juliette politely nodded at her, and Diana smiled, "It's so late, and you're leaving? When I was dating Curtis, he wouldn't let me leave during the late hours."
Juliette just smiled and left.
Curtis reminded, "Drive safely."
"Okay," Juliette replied and didn't look back at Diana again.
Diana leaned against her door, arms crossed, watching Juliette leave and then looking at Curtis before promptly turning to head back to her own home.
"Come and take your suitcase."
Diana was stunned, but the next second, she felt a surge of joy and quickly turned back.
Curtis gave Diana a faint look and then turned to go back into his house.
It was Diana's first time in his new home, and as soon as she entered, she felt it was very cozy.
It smelled nice inside. She sniffed and asked, "Did you make soup?"
"Yes, Juliette has a bad stomach." He said lightly, then added, "By the door."
Diana looked where he pointed and saw her suitcase.
'It hasn't been opened? So my sexy lingerie hasn't been displayed?' She couldn't help but think.
Diana's eyes flickered, and she immediately went to pull the suitcase. "I need to check if anything is missing. You know, my things are very expensive."
Curtis slowly sat on the sofa.
Seeing her about to squat by the door to open the suitcase, he kindly suggested, "Why don't you check it here?"
"Okay."
Diana didn't expect him to be so cooperative, so she dragged the suitcase over.
Curtis watched her place the suitcase down and open it, and find exactly what he expected: seductive and sexy, just like her style. Diana looked worried, frowning as she rummaged through it, then looked up at him, "It seems a black lace nightgown is missing."
Curtis smiled faintly, "A black lace nightgown? I've never seen it before. Do you have a photo? Show me."
Hearing this, Diana was even happier and immediately took out her phone to sit next to him.
"Diana." He suddenly called out.
Her heart trembled, but she pretended not to care and mumbled, "Don't rush me, I have too many beautiful photos, I need time to find them."
"Juliette is pregnant."
The room suddenly fell silent.
