Chapter 264 He Really Knows Everything

In the depths of his blue eyes, her apprehension was mirrored. Observing Victoria's mounting tension, Alexander abruptly dropped his gaze.

"Yes," Victoria managed to utter, her lips tingling with discomfort.

With a fierce intensity, Alexander drew her lip into his mouth, soon nipping at it. A sharp gasp escaped Victoria as a wave of pain washed over her, leaving her slightly disoriented.

Alexander, undeterred, held her chin firmly, deepening the kiss as if he sought to meld her into his very being. His breaths grew ragged, and his hand, seemingly of its own accord, tightened around the soft skin beneath her nightgown.

"No," Victoria protested, feeling her personal space being violated. Swiftly, she turned her head, severing the connection of their lips and rejecting his advances.

Alexander halted, his voice steady as he questioned, "You are my wife. Why can't I kiss you?"

"That's not the case, we're divorcing," Victoria countered, her voice quivering with fear.

"I'm going to make love to you," he declared confidently, before capturing her lips once more.

Fear gripped Victoria. Just as she felt herself teetering on the brink of sanity, the scent of alcohol on Alexander's breath brought her back to reality. She reached up, cradling his face as she whispered, "Alexander."

Her eyes were brimming with vulnerability, pleading. In that moment, all Victoria could do was expose her fragility.

"Do you think I flew for over ten hours to this city just to request a wire transfer from you?" Alexander asked, his gaze locked onto her resistant eyes.

Victoria was taken aback, her mind momentarily paralyzed.

"Do you think I'm oblivious to your intentions for this business trip to Danisland?" he probed, his lips tracing a path along her skin.

"I agreed because I knew you wouldn't abandon the idea of returning. But Victoria, I didn't anticipate you would stoop so low," he confessed, abruptly pulling away.

Confusion clouded Victoria's features as she looked at Alexander. It dawned on her that he was indeed aware of everything. However, certain aspects still seemed peculiar. Unable to piece together the puzzle, she found herself seeking answers in Alexander's gaze.

"Do you remember what I told you before you left?" he asked.

She remembered him saying that someone was eagerly awaiting her return.

Victoria cast her gaze downward, choosing to remain silent.

"You remember it all, yet you have no intention of returning, do you?" Alexander asked.

"No," Victoria admitted. Then she thought, 'I don't need to lie. I want to end my marriage with Alexander.'

"Victoria, why are you so naive?" Alexander questioned.

"What?" Victoria asked, taken aback.

"A man who hasn't even claimed his wife, how could he possibly let her go? Grant me your first night, and then we can proceed with the divorce," Alexander proposed, his gaze serious.

Victoria was stunned into silence for what felt like an eternity until his lips found hers once more, trailing down her neck, collarbone, and chest. Regaining her composure, she firmly stated, "No."

"Why do you refuse?" Alexander asked.

"I don't want to. Even if we are married, you can't force me," Victoria asserted, clutching her skirt.

"Do you believe I can let you go tonight?" Alexander's voice was low and gravelly.

His gaze dropped to her chest, and Alexander felt a surge of desire. If she could truly deter him from his intentions, he wouldn't consider himself a man.

"But why do you assume you have the right to claim me simply because you're my husband? A relationship should be built on mutual consent and respect," Victoria retorted.

"But I want that right now," he interjected abruptly. Alexander hadn't flown for over ten hours to this city to listen to Victoria's objections.

"Victoria, will you grant my request?" he asked softly, leaning in to kiss her once more.

"I said no," Victoria protested, raising her hand to block his advance.

In response, Alexander swiftly captured her wrists, pinning them to the bed. "I want this!" Seeing her enraged expression, Alexander felt a surge of satisfaction.

"Alexander, you're a jerk," Victoria spat, frustrated by her inability to move.

"Am I a jerk? If I were, I would have taken you during our two years of marriage," Alexander taunted, his lips grazing hers as he murmured his retort.
