Chapter 778 He said seriously: We Need to talk
The bedroom gradually became quiet, and their body intertwined as they quickly fell asleep.
Victoria didn't wake up again until it was dark. She lay on the bed and lifted the blanket, drenched in sweat, but Alexander was no longer beside her.
She lay there, dazed, forgetting whether it was morning or evening, only thinking of his whisper, "Vicky."
Every time he called her that, she couldn't help but feel moved.
It seemed that this name, only when spoken by him, could be so enchanting.
Soon, she went downstairs. The lights were bright, and she heard the lively sounds from the living room. Looking over, she was surprised but still greeted gently, "Mom, Grandma."
"Victoria, you're just in time. Come and see the clothes your grandma and I picked for you."
Arabella immediately put down the clothes in her hand and picked up one she had chosen for Victoria.
Victoria walked over, looking at the clothes covering the sofa, and couldn't help but say, "So many?"
"We originally planned to bring the whole mall back today, but your waist isn't well, and you played chess with Alexander for so long. We were afraid you wouldn't be able to enjoy shopping, so we just picked some styles and had them sent home," Arabella explained.
"It's all on Alexander's dime. Come see if there's anything you particularly like for New Year's Eve."
Arabella pulled Victoria over, but looking at the clothes, Victoria felt they were all too light.
And Arabella knew she was going back to Elysium Country.
Arabella glanced at her and immediately said, "No matter where you spend New Year's Eve, you always need a few new outfits. Hurry and pick one to try on."
"Okay."
Victoria didn't want to spoil the mood, so she started picking seriously.
The men were nowhere to be seen. Victoria picked up an outfit and looked around. "Did Dad and Grandpa take Strawberry out?"
"They're playing chess in the room. Your husband took Strawberry out."
Victoria was stunned.
Where did he take Strawberry so late?
Could he take Strawberry on a date again?
All sorts of unrealistic thoughts flooded Victoria's mind.
While changing clothes, she immediately sent a message to Alexander. After waiting for some time with no reply, she changed her clothes. But he still didn't reply, she inexplicably became nervous.
"Victoria, are you ready?"
"Yes, coming out now."
Victoria quickly responded but immediately checked Facebook on her phone. After thinking for a moment, she called him directly.
"Hello? Mrs. Harrington, missing Alexander already?"
The voice on the other end was familiar, but she couldn't place it.
"Who is this?" Victoria asked, puzzled.
"Edward."
"Oh, Mr. Sinclair, is Alexander with you?"
"Yes, we're having dinner tonight. Don't worry, we all brought the kids, no other women."
"Okay, sorry to bother you." Victoria was about to hang up.
"Wait, he's back."
Edward was about to call Alexander, but was shocked by a voice behind him: "Hello, Mr. Sinclair, and Mr. Beaumont."
Victoria naturally heard the voice too.
"Where did you go, Alexander? Ms. Bryant is here to see her friend, right? You just happened to run into each other?" Edward immediately asked.
Daisy smiled but didn't respond.
Alexander, seeing Edward holding his phone, asked, "Metro House's call?"
"It's Victoria."
Edward immediately handed him the phone.
As Alexander took it, however, Victoria hung up.
He looked down at Strawberry in his arms and sighed helplessly. He had just taken Strawberry to change a diaper.
Running into Daisy was, of course, just a coincidence.
He tried calling back, but there was no answer.
Edward couldn't help but whisper, "I just told her we were having a get-together with no women."
Alexander didn't say anything, just put his phone aside.
Daisy glanced at his phone and noticed Strawberry dozing off. She softly said, "Mr. Harrington, it looks like Strawberry is falling asleep."
"Forget it, I'll take her back," Alexander looked at Strawberry and suddenly said.
"You just got here and you're leaving?"
"She booked a flight for the morning of the 29th."
Edward followed him out to see him off, and Alexander reluctantly explained.
"I'll head back first. Bill's on me."
"Alright, but don't drive with Strawberry. Let the driver take you home."
"Okay."
Although Alexander agreed, he still insisted on driving. They returned home safely.
However, there was an extra car at home, and Adrian and Melissa had arrived.
As soon as Alexander reached the door, Mason came out to greet him and quietly reminded him, "Mr. Adrian Harrington and Mrs. Melissa Harrington are back."
"Got it."
Alexander, carrying the sleeping Strawberry, walked in with his long strides and heard Melissa saying: "We're planning to return to Elysium Country. We've lived there for so long, we're used to it."
"That's fine, but Brett and I both hope you can stay," Eloise said to Melissa.
Actually, she didn't have much affection for Melissa, but Melissa was her youngest son's wife and had given birth to Adrian, so she did consider Melissa's family.
"Thank you for saying that," Melissa said contentedly.
Victoria was washing her hands in the bathroom when she heard the door open and saw Adrian standing there.
He smiled gently, with a hint of humility.
Victoria smiled back, "Do you need to use the bathroom? I'll leave."
"No, I just wanted to ask if you want to leave with us."
Adrian looked at her, full of anticipation.
Victoria's heart trembled, and she couldn't help but softly reply, "Adrian, we've already talked about this."
"I know, but if you're going back, we could go together."
"No, I'm not going back."
Victoria gave him a firm answer in less than two seconds.
Although it was a lie, she said it more convincingly than the truth.
Adrian felt a bit disappointed. Her decision to stay for the New Year with the Harrington family, with so many people, was self-explanatory.
"That's fine, but..."
"What are you doing? Taking so long?"
Alexander's deep, commanding voice suddenly came from behind Adrian. He stopped speaking and immediately lowered his head when he saw Alexander.
Victoria was also surprised to see Alexander back. "Weren't you on a date?"
He even had Edward lie for him. If she hadn't called and heard Daisy's voice...
"Strawberry was tired, so I brought her back."
Alexander said this lightly, then glanced at Adrian and asked, "You're out of the hospital?"
"Yes," Adrian said as he turned to leave.
Alexander remained at the door, looking at Victoria, who was avoiding his gaze.
Adrian couldn't help but turn to look at her too. Her avoidance meant completely different things to Alexander and Adrian.
Adrian felt a bit bitter but silently returned to the living room.
Alexander, however, entered the bathroom and closed the door behind him.
Victoria looked up and asked, "Why did you close the door?"
She tried to leave, but he firmly grasped her arm and said seriously, "We need to talk."
