Chapter 1000 Now They Want to Kill You
"It's not your fault. Being divorced isn't a big deal."
Diana awkwardly but politely explained in a low voice, feeling incredibly embarrassed and silently cursing Emily.
"Yeah, I kinda heard about it," he said with a smile. "Let's eat first."
"Okay."
But no matter what, the meal was ruined.
As soon as Diana left, she called Emily. "Are you out of your mind? Do you want me to come over and smash your face in?"
"Hey, you and Curtis are breaking up, right? I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to be my sister-in-law. Or do you think my family isn't good enough for you?"
"Shut up!" Diana hung up the phone after throwing out a threat.
Emily knew she hated it when people talked about social climbing.
She walked alone on the street, touching her burning forehead.
She drank too much last night, ended up with a splitting headache, and even mistook someone for her boyfriend.
Now, Curtis, that petty guy, was probably thinking all sorts of things about her.
But he was with Juliette.
Thinking about Curtis comforting another woman made her furious.
. She admitted she wasn't that magnanimous.
If Curtis were a philanthropist, they would have split up sooner or later.
A man could be generous, but not ambiguous with another woman.
If they were just ordinary friends, he wouldn't be comforting her late at night.
Comforting someone late at night meant something was up.
Even if he had a clear conscience, if the woman had feelings, they could easily get carried away.
Diana went to Serenade Villa, only to find Alexander home alone.
"Where's Victoria?"
"Mom and Grandma took her to the church."
"Church?"
"Yeah, but the car stopped at the hospital."
Diana was stunned for a moment, then quickly asked, "Is Victoria sick again?"
"No."
Alexander looked helplessly at Diana, thinking if Victoria were sick, would he be sitting at home drinking coffee?
It was just that Arabella and Eloise worried about Victoria's health, but were afraid he wouldn't be happy, so they said they were going to the church.
He never objected to taking her to see the doctor. But she had just come back and had a full check-up, so he didn't want to do anything else to scare her.
Eloise and Arabella took Victoria to the hospital.
As soon as they sat down, they saw someone inside, so the three of them waited outside.
The doctor's apprentice said it would only take three minutes.
He mentioned that a family brought their daughter-in-law, who showed signs of a miscarriage.
"Signs of a miscarriage, that needs a good look," Eloise said, then glanced inside.
"Arabella, take a look inside. Doesn't that person look familiar?" Eloise called out to Arabella.
Arabella glanced inside and couldn't help but mutter, "It looks like Mrs. Johnson, is that Daisy?"
"Daisy?" Eloise looked again.
Just then, the two women came out, confirming their suspicions.
Daisy?
Victoria also heard the name. She thought it sounded like someone with a connection to this family.
Could it be the ex-girlfriend of that man?
But she also heard something about the signs of a miscarriage.
Could it be that this woman cheated on him, so he went inside to her out of spite?
"Mrs. Harrington, you look great these days," Mrs. Johnson greeted Eloise politely.
"Not bad. What's wrong with her?" Eloise glanced at the rosy-cheeked Mrs. Johnson, then turned to look at Daisy.
Daisy lowered her head in shame, not intending to say anything.
The Harrington family looked at her with different eyes, and she just wanted to get away from them quickly.
But Victoria was also there. She couldn't help but raise her eyes to scrutinize Victoria, noticing that her eyes were unfocused, like a blind person. She couldn't help but look more closely to confirm her condition.
Victoria suddenly smiled politely, making Daisy's heart skip a beat.
"What are you looking at? Don't you recognize Victoria?" Arabella asked, seeing Daisy staring intently at Victoria.
Daisy immediately averted her gaze but then looked at Victoria again, saying, "Just curious."
"Instead of being curious about others, you should focus on keeping the baby in your belly," Arabella reminded her unhappily.
Daisy felt like she had been slapped in the face.
She didn't want this baby at all.
She deliberately drank alcohol, drank coffee, and did everything the doctor advised against.
She just didn't want to have a child for Elliot.
"Mrs. Harrington, there's no need to be so harsh. I have no ill intentions. I just wanted to see how the person I sacrificed my reputation to save is doing," Daisy looked at Victoria as she spoke.
Victoria heard bits and pieces, but she thought Daisy's words had something to do with her.
"You sacrificed your reputation to save someone? Daisy, you can't just erase Alexander's sleepless efforts with one sentence," Arabella couldn't stand people who loved to take credit.
And how exactly was Victoria found?
It was said that although Isabella admitted to having Victoria kidnapped, she didn't provide any other clues.
Finding Victoria was because a passerby saw her in that underground place, which was the breakthrough.
"Daisy has been a bit scatterbrained since she got pregnant. Mrs. Harrington, please don't take it to heart," Mrs. Johnson quickly said.
If it weren't for the fact that Daisy was carrying her family's child, she wouldn't bother.
"Our families have some connections, so I'll let it slide for your sake. But you need to keep her in check. Honestly, Daisy is too wild."
"Mrs. Harrington, isn't that a bit too much?"
"Am I wrong? Is it false that she's trying to seduce another man while pregnant?"
"Of course, that's false. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Harrington."
"Huh."
"Alright, I'll educate her at home," Mrs. Johnson quickly tried to smooth things over.
She didn't expect Daisy to dare to argue with Arabella in public. She was lacking in both timing and sense.
Mrs. Johnson finished speaking and pulled Daisy away, but Daisy suddenly stopped and turned back.
How could she be so lucky?
Victoria, looking like a fool, was so highly regarded by the Harrington family. Why?
Wasn't it because her parents died in a car accident while attending Eloise's birthday party?
As for everything the Harrington family did for her afterward, it was all out of guilt.
And why did she end up like this?
Daisy thought about it, then pulled her arm away from Mrs. Joshson and walked back. "Victoria."
Eloise had just entered the doctor's office, and Arabella was about to take Victoria in too.
Who knew Daisy would suddenly call out to Victoria?
Victoria slightly turned her face, hearing someone calling her.
"Do you know who caused you to end up like this? They killed your parents and now want to kill you."
