Chapter 859 Catch Them in the Act
"Just this once."
Alexander looked at Victoria with pleading eyes.
Victoria met his gaze, and the pain in her heart swelled.
She was having that unrealistic illusion again.
She thought he was sincere.
If she hadn't known him for so long, she might have been deceived by him.
She sneered and weakly said, "Alexander, once I finish this, you disappear from my sight."
"Okay."
He agreed without any hesitation.
Victoria lowered her head, "Where is it?"
Alexander immediately grabbed her wrist and led her to the next room.
Hearing that Diana had called here, Alexander guessed Victoria was not in the mood for a meal. But he didn't expect her to come out so quickly.
Fortunately, he had ordered her favorite fried chicken wings in advance.
In front of them were various dipping sauces.
Since Strawberry was no longer breastfeeding, she added two big spoonfuls of hot sauce.
Just looking at it made Alexander's brow furrow.
She usually didn't eat spicy food.
Alexander also picked up the hot sauce, wanting to try the flavor she liked.
"Don't add it."
"Why?"
"If you have an allergic reaction, I'll have to call an ambulance for you."
Alexander put the hot sauce down again.
"Don't take this as a concern."
"What if I do?"
"Then it's just your wishful thinking."
Victoria said indifferently, lowering her head to eat the chicken wings.
Alexander, however, kept staring at her. He wanted to kiss her lips, which had turned red from the spiciness.
As for the allergy issue, it shouldn't happen at this restaurant.
After he had an allergic reaction once, the restaurant knew which types of chili he could eat.
He prefers the original flavor. However, Victoria wanted him to eat, and he would eat.
After Victoria finished eating, her face was all red, and there was a bit of sweat on her forehead.
Alexander handed her a napkin, and Victoria took it, "Thank you."
"Can I have another serving?"
Victoria looked at Alexander's empty plate, feeling a bit disappointed.
Alexander smiled, "Sure."
She rarely ate this much.
Or rather, since returning to the country, this was the first time she had eaten so much.
After eating, the two walked out together and ran into Diana coming out of the next room. Diana was immediately displeased to see them together, "Did you complain to Alexander?"
"Do you even need her to complain?"
"Alexander."
"Everything you're thinking is etched on your face. Go back and spend some time with Grandma."
Diana, unhappy, glanced at Victoria and turned to leave.
She would find a way to get rid of Victoria, maybe even soon.
She suddenly thought she could introduce some beautiful women to Alexander, those who looked gentle and soft like Victoria. She knew a few good models from her photography days.
She immediately called as soon as she left the restaurant.
Victoria heard a phone ring, but it wasn't hers. She turned around and discovered Alexander by her side.
They were just walking back to the office building together, but it felt like they were taking a stroll.
Alexander looked at her and smiled gently, "You finally noticed me."
Victoria didn't say anything because he answered the phone right after, "What's up?"
"Okay, got it, 8 PM."
Alexander agreed good-naturedly and then walked up to Victoria, "It was Diana. She wants to have dinner with me alone tonight."
Victoria thought Diana was probably going to scold her again, but it didn't matter since she wouldn't be there to see it.
The holidays were coming up, and she wanted to leave and relax, preferably with Strawberry.
In that case, she should probably discuss it with Eloise.
When her fingers were touched by a warmth that wasn't hers, her heart skipped a beat. She quickly raised her hands, crossed her arms, and continued walking silently.
Alexander clenched his hand in disappointment. He had tried to hold her hand several times, but she always noticed just as he was about to.
Seeing Victoria's seemingly indifferent demeanor, he found it a bit amusing. They had been married for so long; shouldn't he be able to hold her hand whenever he wanted? Why was he being so cautious and hesitant?
In the evening, Olivia and Emily invited Victoria to dinner. The three of them found a quiet, private room in a restaurant.
As soon as Emily walked in, she said mysteriously, "Who is it next door? About eight models went it."
Victoria and Olivia were intrigued. Olivia, even more interested, said, "I know the owner here. I'll message him and ask."
Victoria and Emily immediately looked at Olivia.
The reply came back quickly, and the three women leaned in to look at the phone.
[It's just your acquaintance, Mr. Harrington.]
The three of them fell silent.
But soon, Olivia asked, [Is he alone?]
Emily nervously muttered, "Sebastian said Alexander was going to have dinner with his father."
Victoria thought of what Alexander had told her at noon, that he was going to have dinner with Diana.
So Alexander was lying, too.
But did he need to lie?
Victoria suddenly felt a bit bored, but then the reply came: [Only Mr. Harrington is registered. I'm not at the restaurant; you can ask Mr. Sterling.]
After reading the message, Olivia immediately called Edward, lightly questioning, "Where are you right now?"
Edward hung up the phone. Just as Olivia was shocked, Edward initiated a video call. Olivia answered and saw Edward holding Strawberry on the screen, which reassured her and even made her a bit teary.
She was so scared.
"What's wrong? You're acting like I'm cheating or something just because you went out to meet friends."Edward asked her.
Olivia told him what was happening, but Edward didn't know either, so he hung up.
After hanging up, Edward immediately thought that Olivia's friend wouldn't lie to her. So Alexander was there, but did Alexander not know Victoria was next door? He quickly messaged Alexander: [Victoria is next door.]
After reading the message, Alexander's expression didn't change. He just found Victoria's Facebook and messaged her, [Where are you?]
When Victoria's phone rang, Olivia and Emily also looked over. Victoria opened it, glanced at it, then immediately closed it and put it aside.
"Why didn't you reply to him?"Emily asked.
"No need," Victoria said softly.
"Even if you're getting a divorce, he shouldn't be fooling around before it's finalized. You should reply to him."
"There's no need."Victoria smiled at Olivia.
Olivia knew Victoria was determined to get a divorce. She suddenly looked serious and asked, "Shall we catch them in the act?"
"Catch them in the act?"Emily was stunned.
Victoria just looked at Olivia, waiting for her to explain.
"Don't you want a divorce? If you catch them in the act, you'll have evidence. How could you not get a divorce then?"
Olivia explained to Victoria with great interest.
Emily felt a bit nervous and thought. 'Isn't that be too much?'
But Victoria was tempted. Within half a minute, she suddenly grabbed her phone, "Let's go."
