Chapter 741 He No Longer Hesitates
"You're just scared of what happened at Brett's birthday happening again, aren't you?"
Alexander leaned his forehead against Victoria's, reading her thoughts.
"Yeah," Victoria admitted, trying to steady her breath.
She was worried the Harrington Family would once again publicly claim they were still married. If that happened, she couldn't deny it without damaging their image. So, it was better for her to stay away.
Alexander whispered, "You have to go."
Victoria felt a sharp pain in her waist and instinctively shifted, looking up. His lips accidentally brushed her nose, lingering for a moment. The room's atmosphere grew more intense, and Victoria nervously tried to pull back, but Alexander held her in place. He said with a soft smile, "Unless you give up Strawberry's custody, we're attending all her important events together."
He spoke slowly but clearly, then lifted his eyes, his lips hovering near hers, teasingly close. Every time he saw her lips, he couldn't resist the urge to kiss her.
Victoria was startled by his actions, trying to control her breath and whispering, "I get it. Can I go back to the kids' room now?"
"What if I say no?"
She had come to him on her own. Even though she had something to discuss, since she dared to come in, he wasn't planning to let her leave. He had been lying alone on this big bed for over four hundred days, unable to warm his body, making him want to...
Plus, it was snowing outside. They hadn't enjoyed anything together for a long time, and he didn't want her to leave.
"Ms. Bryant asked me if you like having friends over."
"What did you say?"
"I thought others might not be okay, but Ms. Bryant should be, right? You two are so close."
Victoria's voice was always very soft. Alexander felt a pang in his heart, then smiled and replied softly, "I'm not as close to her as I am to you, baby."
He murmured, surprising even himself. He had called her baby without thinking.
Victoria's heart was in turmoil before she said, "I can call Ms. Bryant now."
"Isn't it bad for Strawberry to see her dad with another woman in bed, other than her mom?"
"This is an open..."
Before she could finish the word, her lips were suddenly touched lightly. Like an electric shock, she suddenly quieted down. Before she could pull away, Alexander's lips lightly pressed against hers for three seconds, then he suddenly sucked her lower lip.
Victoria tilted her head back, her heart racing, her hands instinctively gripping his arms, trying to push him away. But he kissed her deeply and seriously, more and more lingering.
Victoria's voice was completely muffled, her breathing labored, and the pain in her back grew worse. She groaned, and then she was lifted from the low cabinet.
"Alexander."
"Before you let another woman into my bed, why don't you lie in it yourself first?"
Victoria looked at him in shock and surprise. Alexander's dark eyes swept over her coldly, then he sucked on the mark he had left on her neck. The mark on her neck grew darker, and she pressed her hands against his shoulders, unable to help but call his name, "Alexander, stop."
Alexander stopped, looked at his work with satisfaction, then carried her to the bed. When Victoria felt herself being placed on the bed, she instinctively tightened her arms around his neck, her slender legs hooking tightly around his waist, "What are you doing?"
Alexander looked at her flushed face and said with a soft smile, "Don't you feel anything?"
Victoria's face turned even redder, her legs loosening slightly but quickly tightening again. It was more dangerous on the bed.
"Who's been keeping you satisfied lately? I remember you had a strong sexual desire during that time."
His eyes glinted suggestively, then he leaned in to kiss her again. Victoria quickly turned her face away, uncomfortably but firmly whispering, "Put me down."
"I'm about to, but you're clinging to me too tightly, baby. You seem like you don't want to leave my body at all. Haven't the other men satisfied you?"
He whispered, his eyes growing more intense. It seemed that if she dared to say an outside man was better than him, he would lose it.
Victoria turned her face away, not wanting to look at him, until his words made her angrily look at him, "Don't make yourself sound so impressive. Have you forgotten your first time..."
Victoria realized her impulsiveness, seeing his face instantly darken, and immediately shut her mouth. Some old matters were not to be mentioned with men.
Victoria thought for a moment, then muttered submissively before things got worse, "The other guys aren't that bad either."
Alexander held her by the bed, taking a deep breath after a long time, then said with a meaningful smile, "Really? Then I'd like to know how they're not that bad."
Victoria immediately looked up as she said, "You're scaring me."
"Really? Why?"
"We're divorced. You know I'm your secretary, not your wife. Our relationship ended the moment you risked your life for Isabella."
Victoria looked at him, finally saying it. After she said it, she saw his face change instantly. He was angry; he hated her mentioning this. If it weren't for having no other choice, she wouldn't have brought it up.
After a while, he stood by the window, looking at the snow outside, and said in the coldest tone, "Get out."
Victoria looked at his tall, cold figure and immediately left the room. She had only come to discuss Strawberry's Welcome Baby Party.
After hearing the door close, Alexander slowly released the breath he had been holding, but his eyes grew fiercer. If he was willing to die for Isabella, would he have let her go to jail?
Victoria would never understand him. Everyone said she was smart and sensible, but to him, she seemed utterly foolish.
Later, he sat on the edge of the bed, feeling the warmth from the bedspread, his body and mind feeling like they were being slowly cut by a knife. Just like the day she was slashed.
Victoria's miserable appearance that day reappeared in his mind, his eyes growing heavier. The once neat and warm bedspread was clenched tightly in his hand, and after suppressing his emotions repeatedly, he finally stood up.
She was within his reach. Why should he let her leave?
Alexander strode out, heading to the children's room. The door to the children's room was locked from the inside. Alexander gripped the doorknob, knowing she was guarding against him, and couldn't help but sneer.
Since she thought she knew him so well, why should he hesitate?
Victoria came out of the shower, and before she could react, she was suddenly lifted off the ground.
