Chapter 957 I Will Do My Best
Victoria felt a tightness in her chest, and then tears began to flow from the corners of her closed eyes.
Gradually, the excessive excitement in her chest made her tears flow endlessly.
She pushed Alexander away, then leaned against his chest.
She thought, This must be because of the fever.
Otherwise, why would she take the initiative to be in his arms?
After lunch, Victoria was carried back to bed, and Alexander sat by the bedside. "You should sleep a bit more."
Victoria thought, 'He doesn't know how much I've slept recently.'
She didn't know if it was because he came, but she suddenly felt less weak.
"I need to make a call, I'll be back soon."
He reassured her.
"Okay."
Victoria obediently lay on the bed, watching him leave and even close the door for her.
This must be a very important call.
She turned over and gradually fell asleep again.
Alexander was about to return to the room after making the call when he heard a car stop outside and stood there.
"Where's Victoria?"
"Mrs. Harrington is not feeling well. Mr. Harrington is with her."
Eve saw it was Jason and immediately got to the point.
Jason came with a female companion. Hearing this, he smiled, "Never mind then, please send her my regards. I'll come to see her in a few days."
"Since you're here, why don't you come in and sit for a while?"
Just as the two were about to leave, a familiar voice invited them in.
Jason turned around, surprised that Alexander would invite them in.
"Is this your wife?" Alexander glanced at the quiet girl sitting next to Jason and asked.
"Yes, I wanted to bring her to meet Victoria."
Jason said with a smile.
As if he had already moved on from Victoria.
"Victoria has been having a fever recently, it might be contagious. You should come back in a few days to see her."
Alexander said calmly.
Desiree brought coffee, and Alexander said, "Try the coffee I brought from back home."
"Thank you."
The girl was very polite, and Jason also picked up his coffee, but couldn't help asking Alexander, "Have you two made up? Will it never happen again?"
"I will do my best," Alexander said.
Calmly, yet it felt like a promise.
Jason nodded, "It better be. Victoria hasn't been well for these years. I hope you two can be good to each other. After all, she doesn't love anyone else, only you."
Alexander met Jason's gaze. He couldn't deny it; Jason's words were very comforting to him.
When everyone knew she loved him, she could no longer deny it.
He could feel Jason's sincerity and thought of Adrian's changes recently. He believed they would be fine.
Alexander thought he would slowly win Victoria back, and then they would eventually return home.
After Jason and his wife left, Alexander stood at the door for a while before heading back upstairs.
Victoria was lightly sleeping on the bed. Hearing the noise, she slowly opened her eyes. "Did you finish your call?"
Alexander smiled, sat by the bed, leaned over, and touched Victoria's face gently. "I finished a while ago. Jason brought his wife to see you, I entertained them for a bit."
"Entertained?" Victoria was stunned.
"Jason said you only love me."
Alexander whispered in front of her, then his thin lips moved closer, unfolding into a deeply affectionate and gentle kiss on her lips.
