Chapter 14 Sending Victoria Away
"Alexander."
She lowered her head a bit, not knowing what to do.
He was still wearing yesterday's trousers and shirt, looking a bit tired, but also...
Well, he had a hint of a forbidden allure.
His appearance alone made her want to abandon reason.
Sometimes, she even doubted whether love at first sight was love. But her accelerated heartbeat when seeing him made her unable to deceive herself. She was merely seduced by his good looks.
"My mother will be here soon."
He started.
"Ah."
She hadn't recovered yet and was still looking at him blankly.
"Your mother-in-law."
"Oh."
She responded a beat late.
Alexander looked at her in her white tracksuit and asked, "Did you go for a run?"
"No."
Alexander stared at her again.
Victoria didn't say anything else; she just slightly raised her hand to invite him in.
After Alexander entered, he felt quite good, after all, this was his favorite suite.
"Alexander, I..."
She wanted to tell him she planned to return to M country.
"Have you prepared breakfast?"
"It's ready, but Alexander..."
"Let's talk while eating."
After being interrupted again and again, Victoria became a bit upset.
But he had already strode towards the dining room, so she had to follow him.
Her cooking was really average. Ever since she was a child, she never liked liked cooking, and her parents didn't ask her to cook either.
Breakfast was just toasted bread.
She had it once in an outside breakfast shop and liked it. She searched for the recipe, made it a few times, and found out that she could make it okay.
But Alexander stood in front of the dining table, his eyes half-closed.
Victoria looked at his expression and knew that this was definitely not to his liking.
"Is this what you eat?"
"Yes, if you're not used to it..."
"Never mind; don't remake it today."
He said, pulling out a chair to sit down.
Who said anything about remaking it?
She planned to ask him to eat outside.
She only toasted one piece of bread, and now she had to divide it into two?
Honestly, she could eat a whole one in the morning by herself.
Alexander poked a piece with a fork to taste it, but his face remained quite solemn.
"You don't have to force yourself; we can go out to eat later."
Victoria poured a glass of milk and suggested.
"Thank you."
Then, just as she finished pouring the milk and was about to put it on her side, he reached out first and even said thanks.
So, he was planning to take her toast and her milk too?
That was quite domineering.
If they knew each other better, she might not be infatuated with him anymore.
He was too good at occupying other people's things.
After taking the milk, he said, "Get a set of utensils for yourself; we'll share."
He seemed completely unaware that she didn't welcome him and was trying to send him away.
"I want to tell you, after we process the divorce, I want to leave."
Victoria didn't want to be ordered around by him and directly proposed.
"Leave? To where?"
"Back to M country."
Alexander's expression worsened.
She actually wanted to go back to M country, which he didn't expect.
"I think I'm not suitable to be your secretary, and besides, I've been missing home for a long time."
She added.
She thought, the word "missing home" should arouse some sympathy in him, right?
"If I remember correctly, your hometown is here. Is M country that good?"
He reminded her unhappily and questioned.
"Yes."
In fact, she just felt that this way, she could better cut off this unrequited love.
She answered, then went to get another plate and fork.
Indeed, she was going to share with him, after all, she made the toast. He already took enough of her breakfast.
Alexander watched her take toast from his plate, inexplicably wanting to laugh. She was twenty-three, but still acting like a child.
"But you can't leave."
Alexander's eyes were filled with laughter, looking at her contentedly, but his words were without doubt.
