Chapter 918 Why Were You in Daisy's Car?
"Alexander, are you looking for a woman?"
"Should I call Daisy for you?"
"Do you think just because I got into her car, I want to have sex with her?"
"If you need me to, I'll find her for you. She's more than willing to come. If you don't need it, you don't have to explain it to me."
"Alright."
"Then let's get to work first."
Alexander patiently talked to Victoria.
Victoria then started reading the documents for him.
Who knew he would suddenly say, "That night I asked if you planned to stay, and you haven't answered me."
"Even if I thought about staying, it was only because I was afraid you wouldn't let me see Strawberry again."
She explained.
"You should read the documents first."
Victoria read until she fell asleep next to Alexander, with the phone and herself in his arms.
Alexander quietly took the phone away, gently covered her with a blanket, and held her in his arms, watching her silently.
She always spoke with such ruthlessness, yet when she slept, she exuded an infinite gentleness.
Alexander's thin lips moved to her forehead and gently kissed her.
He wanted to keep her, and he would find a way.
With each passing hour of the night, his heart felt warmer.
She slept peacefully in his arms.
He thought that no matter what happened, he could never let her go again, even in anger or frustration.
Because sending her away was like torturing himself.
The next day, Adrian and Ava also came to see Alexander. Victoria handed them bottled water, and they sat down. Adrian only asked, "Alexander, why were you in Daisy's car?"
"If you acknowledge Tori as your sister-in-law in the future, I'll tell you."
Adrian immediately fell silent.
Ava quietly looked on and explained, "Adrian said he wants you two to reconcile and doesn't want you to argue because of him anymore."
Adrian felt a bit defiant. He didn't want others to say these things, but he couldn't stop Ava from speaking.
Victoria asked, "How is Ms. Montgomery's health recently?"
"Not bad, my child isn't too naughty."
Ava replied to Victoria and then added, "In the future, I'll need to ask you more about taking care of children. I hope you won't find me annoying."
"Okay." Victoria nodded in agreement.
Alexander expressed, "If you need anything, you can find the OB-GYN director downstairs. She has deep ties with the Harrington family."
"You don't need to worry about Ava. Ava has nothing to do with the Harrington family."
Adrian immediately grumbled when he heard Alexander introducing a doctor.
"Whether Ava has anything to do with the Harrington family, you know, and we know," Alexander added seriously.
Adrian felt annoyed. So what if Ava was carrying a Harrington family child? What was the big deal?
After leaving the hospital, Adrian questioned Ava, "Are you here to show off?"
"Show off what?" Ava asked Adrian, confused.
"Show off that you're carrying a Harrington family child."
Although Ava had heard many hurtful things from Adrian recently, his words today still brought her sadness.
"How about this, I won't be your agent anymore."
Ava suddenly suggested.
Adrian stopped in his tracks, standing next to her at the door, staring at her, silently asking what she was up to now.
"You can work with Dennis. I'm leaving for a while."
"Where are you going?"
She wanted to leave him with Dennis?
"The doctor said pregnant women need to stay in a good mood. Seeing you makes me unhappy, so I'm leaving to stay far away from you."
"This way, you don't have to worry about me clinging to you, and I don't have to see your unpleasant expression."
"Ava, I just renewed my contract."
"I'll transfer you to Dennis."
"I don't want to work with him."
"Then work with whoever you want. You have plenty of resources. You'll do just fine without me."
Ava said and started to leave.
Adrian felt inexplicably panicked and chased after her, "Ava."
"I warn you, don't follow me."
Ava then ran towards the roadside.
They had come in one car, but she took a cab and left.
Adrian stood dazedly where she had stood, struggling to understand why he felt this way. He hated her, yet he couldn't fathom why she would leave him alone with Dennis.
She wouldn't leave, would she?
Adrian took out his phone and called her, but she didn't answer. He had to call Ivan, who answered quickly, making Adrian breathe a sigh of relief. He instructed, "Don't let Ava leave town."
"What's going on?"
"What do you think? She's carrying my child and wants to run away?"
"What did you say?"
Ivan thought he had misheard.
Although he thought these two would end up in bed together eventually.
"I warn you, if I can't find Ava, I won't let you off."
Adrian quickly hung up and immediately ran to the parking lot.
He didn't want Ava, but he couldn't abandon his child.
Now that Melissa wasn't here, he could only ask Eloise for help.
At the Harrington Mansion, Eloise and Brett had just finished their medicine. Seeing Adrian return, they were both happy and called him over, "Come here, I was just about to ask you, when do you plan to marry Ava?"
"What? I'm not marrying her." Adrian replied.
"Brett and I were saying you have a better temper than Alexander. Are you trying to prove us wrong today?"
Eloise felt a bit anxious hearing this.
Brett sighed, thinking these youngsters couldn't have a smooth relationship.
Couldn't they just have a serious relationship and get married properly?
"If you don't marry Ava, why do you want Ava's child?"
Brett asked Adrian.
"That child is part of our family," Adrian replied.
"That child may be part of the Harrington family, but Ava is the child's mother." Brett reminded Adrian.
"Grandpa, please stop lecturing me and help me think of a solution."
Adrian pleaded, genuinely out of ideas.
"There is one solution."
Eloise nodded in agreement with Brett.
"What? Tell me quickly."
Adrian was anxious.
"You should go to Ava's elders and ask for their permission to marry her."
"How is that possible?"
Adrian was immediately shocked.
He didn't want to do that.
"After all, you made the mistake. You can't be irresponsible. You need to apologize sincerely, get Ava's elders' permission, and give Ava a grand wedding."
"You are right." Brett fully agreed with Eloise.
But how could Adrian possibly marry Ava?
"You need to take responsibility."
"But Grandma, I don't like her."
"If you don't like her, how did you get Ava pregnant?"
