Chapter 703 Father and Daughter Reunion

Airport.

They bumped into Alexander at the airport.

Alexander told them to stay in Ankenra City.

Eve suddenly caught onto Alexander's cold vibe and muttered, "Mrs. Harrington always put Strawberry above everything."

Alexander just gave her a frosty stare.

Eve, being a bit stubborn, looked down, dodging his icy glare, and said, "Mrs. Harrington's getting worse. She is sensitive to cold and wind; she's weak and can't lift a thing..."

Eve had her hands behind her back, talking all serious, but Frank yanked her sleeve from behind, making her stop.

Alexander paused for a sec but then led them out of the airport.

"You two go take a break first."

Alexander said before hopping into the car.

After he left, Eve asked, "Why'd you stop me?"

"He knows."

"He knows? And still acts like this?"

Eve was puzzled.

"We don't get Mr. Harrington's mind. Don't guess. Since we're on break, let's chill."

"What about Mrs. Harrington? If she really wants to end it..."

"If Mr. Harrington told us to stay at here, he's sure Mrs. Harrington's safe."

Frank said confidently.

But Eve wasn't so sure. Victoria seemed too fragile to her.

If it wasn't for Strawberry being with Victoria every day, giving her hope, Victoria might've already been gone.

So that afternoon, Eve stubbornly went back to the airport.

Meanwhile, Alexander was at the Harrington Mansion, staring at Strawberry lying on the bed.

Strawberry looked back at him, her eyes filling with tears, but she didn't cry.

He reached out his hand, and Strawberry lifted hers a bit like she wanted to meet his, but...

Strawberry didn't dare to reach out.

And he just kept sitting by the bed.

Arabella came in with some formula. Closing the door, she picked up Strawberry to feed her, and after a moment, said, "She's only four months old; she should be breastfeeding now."

Alexander didn't say anything, just watched Strawberry drink the formula.

Strawberry spat out the formula as soon as she drank it, and Alexander immediately asked, "What's wrong with her?"

"She might not be used to this formula. It's okay, she'll get used to it."

Arabella said, wiping the milk from Strawberry's mouth. Once Strawberry started drinking seriously, she added, "Babies adapt to new tastes, but did Victoria agree to you bringing Strawberry back?"

Alexander went silent for a bit.

Arabella sighed, "So she didn't agree. Isn't there a way to make everyone happy?"

A way to make everyone happy?

Alexander squinted, not knowing how to answer.

Later, when Strawberry fell asleep in Arabella's arms, she placed her on the bed. "Since you're staying here, I'll step out for a bit."

"Okay."

Alexander couldn't help but lean in to look at the sleeping Strawberry.

Why did she fall asleep so easily?

Why did she look just like Victoria when she was a baby?

After a few minutes, thinking about how Arabella had held Strawberry, he couldn't help but reach out his hand, carefully.

But as soon as his hand touched her waist, she shivered, and Alexander froze, too scared to move.

Luckily, she drifted back to sleep.

After a few tries, he finally managed to hold her, cradling her carefully in his arms.

It felt totally different from holding Edward's kid.

The two kids were different ages, and there was also a difference in how close he felt to them.

Arabella and Maximus peeked through a crack in the door.

Arabella, wearing her reading glasses, muttered, "Is Alexander tearing up?"

Maximus stayed quiet, just thinking about men grow up fast after having kids. Seeing Alexander as a dad now, he seemed different.

When had Alexander ever been so cautious?

He was definitely crying.

For a whole week, Alexander didn't let Strawberry out of his sight.

One evening, while everyone was chatting, Eloise saw how attached Alexander was to Strawberry and couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you gonna bring Victoria back?"

"If she wants to come back, she will."

Alexander replied, cold as ice.

Eloise added, "You don't get women. She must be feeling awful right now, both physically and emotionally. Weren't you the one who cared for her the most?"

"I can't care for her anymore."

Alexander replied, still cold.

"How about this, tomorrow we'll go get her ourselves, okay?"

Arabella thought that even if the young couple had a falling out, they had a kid now, and the family couldn't just fall apart.

"Then you should first confirm if she's single."

Alexander said.

The living room went silent.

Alexander focused on Strawberry in his arms, noticing her mouth turning downwards. He immediately stood up and walked to the window, gently patting her.

Brett sighed, "I'll go see Adrian tomorrow."

"I'll go too."

Eloise said.

Adrian was filming, not too far from Ankenra City, so Eloise and Brett decided to personally check things out.

"Strawberry is sleepy. I'll take her to rest."

Alexander said indifferently, then left with Strawberry.

Brett, Eloise, Arabella, and Maximus all looked worriedly at Alexander.

"Why is Alexander acting so weird?"

Eloise couldn't shake the feeling something was off.

"He probably didn't want to bring Strawberry back like this."

Maximus said.

"But he already did. What about Victoria? Don't any of you have her contact info?"

Brett looked at Arabella.

She had always been the one managing all the household affairs, so she knew the most.

"I don't have it, but I'm sure someone does."

Arabella immediately called Frank.

When Frank answered, he was silent for a moment. Arabella said, "Mr. Patterson, you know we all want them to be together."

With that, Frank gave Victoria's number.

But no one dared to call it. Arabella looked at the number and then at the elders, "Mom, Dad, what if Victoria really married Adrian?"

"Then what can we do?"

Eloise said, feeling down.

At most, it would be like Eloise's youngest son, who no longer saw them, but he was still family.

"Just call her."

Brett said.

Arabella dialed the number, realizing the time difference. It was morning there, and she worried about waking Victoria, but the call was answered quickly.

"Hello, Mom."

"Victoria?"

The call was answered so fast that they were caught off guard.

"Mom, how is Strawberry?"

The voice on the other end was weak but anxious.
