Chapter 820 At Least Ten Thoughts of Divorce
"How about we get a divorce tomorrow?"
Victoria looked straight into his eyes, gently discussing with him.
"Baby, your mouth isn't made for talking."
Alexander suddenly muttered, then took her hand and placed it on his chest, pressing her down and kissing her again.
And he finally spoke again, "It's only made for kissing."
Victoria really couldn't say anything anymore. Her mouth was sealed tightly.
His kisses suddenly became overwhelming, so forceful and domineering, as if he would devour her the next second.
His lips were so thin, but why did they have such power, making her breathless in no time?
But then, for some reason, he suddenly stopped.
Victoria was lost in thought, feeling herself entangled by him, her neck resting on his strong arm.
His breathing was a bit heavy, but it didn't last long.
Later, he fell asleep, but she couldn't sleep for a long time.
Victoria looked at him, thinking it must have been her mention of divorce that dampened Alexander's spirits.
The next morning, Alexander was nowhere to be seen.
After getting up, Victoria was called to the study to accompany Brett in painting. Brett said, "The last painting sold for $40,000. I'm not greedy. We split it half and half."
"That much?"
"What's much? I gave it to a friend; it could have sold for at least six figures."
Victoria was stunned, but her mood inexplicably improved. She couldn't help but say, "Grandpa, can we make a living by selling paintings?"
"Of course."
Brett's eyes were full of pride.
But Victoria was very curious about why Brett always liked to paint with her.
He said her animal drawings were vivid, but she thought Brett's landscape paintings could stand alone; he didn't need to bring her along.
She was just accompanying an elder, and this was an unexpected gain.
Eloise originally wanted Felix to take Victoria to work, but when it was time to go, Frank and Eve were already waiting outside.
As she was leaving, Arabella mentioned again, "Since you're coming back to accompany your grandmother, Strawberry will stay at Metro House."
"Okay."Victoria agreed.
But after leaving Metro House, she felt something was off.
Why did she come back again?
Even though it was just for a few days.
Victoria suddenly recalled last night. Why couldn't she and Alexander have a proper talk about the divorce?
It wasn't just her who had thought about divorce; she was sure they both had at least ten times. But why did he suddenly change his mind?
Around ten o'clock, the attorney entered Alexander's office.
Victoria was working outside but felt inexplicably nervous.
Alexander was very polite, smiling as he asked, "Do you believe everything your client says?"
"Mr. Harrington, your time is valuable. Let's get straight to the point."
The attorney, looking at this usually aloof and mysterious man, naturally gave his full attention.
Alexander smiled faintly, "We still live together."
The attorney silently looked at Alexander, who suddenly raised his eyes to him and quickly noticed the hickey on Alexander's neck.
The attorney suddenly had a very bad feeling, worse than when his appeals were rejected.
"I usually don't discuss personal matters with outsiders, but this time, it concerns my life and your reputation in the industry. I'll try to finish this in half an hour. Do you have time to listen?"
"Yes."
The attorney didn't expect that the man, rumored to be difficult to deal with, would say he wanted to confide.
The atmosphere in the office suddenly became gloomy and damp.
Outside the office, it was also silent.
It wasn't until Shoure came up from downstairs that Victoria looked up.
Seeing Victoria's pale face, Shoure approached, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Are you looking for Mr. Harrington?"
"Yes, I have a document for him to sign."
"I'm afraid you'll have to wait, "Victoria said.
"Why? Is there a guest inside? Who is it?"
Shoure glanced at the office with interest, then looked at Victoria's expression and couldn't help but guess, "Is it Ms. Bryant again?"
"No, this time it's a lawyer."
"What?"
"My lawyer."
Shoure was suddenly speechless.
He had heard from Charles that they were going through a divorce. He scrutinized Victoria for a moment and couldn't help but sigh, "What's the point of a divorce? It's not like you don't love him."
Victoria looked at him in confusion.
"Call me when the lawyer leaves. I'll go back to my office first."
Shoure said and left.
Victoria couldn't help but stare at Shoure's figure in confusion.
The attorney indeed came out of Alexander's office before eleven. Standing in front of Victoria's desk with his briefcase, he thought for a long time before finally just smiling and saying, "Let's have a coffee and chat sometime."
He had a lot to say but didn't know where to start.
If he had to say something, the attorney felt he would need a long time. She was about to get off work, and he had other things to do, so he had to leave it at that.
But after the attorney left, Victoria felt uneasy.
She didn't forget to call Shoure, but after the call, she went to knock on Alexander's office door.
"Come in."
Alexander was still sitting there, drinking the coffee she made, not even turning to see who it was.
Victoria had to walk in, "What did you say to the attorney?"
She had a very bad feeling that Alexander's words had disrupted the attorney's thoughts.
"If I had known that saying these things would make me feel so calm, I would have said them long ago."
Victoria felt like she didn't understand a single word, even though they were all simple words.
Alexander took another sip of coffee in a good mood and praised, "The coffee is good."
Victoria couldn't say anything; just looked at him questioningly. After a while, she couldn't help but step forward and ask, "What exactly did you say?"
"Are you asking as my secretary or as my wife?"
Alexander looked up at her and asked.
Victoria stared at him, "As Victoria."
"Then you're asking as my wife."
Alexander said, putting down the cup and reaching out to hold her hand. Victoria looked down at her hand in his, then looked at him, "Can you be serious? You know I want a divorce."
Her voice grew increasingly uncertain because he pulled her to sit on his lap, then looked up at her and suddenly said, "We will reconcile."
