Chapter 469 It's Because of Morality

Isabella's face instantly turned pale.

Victoria cheerfully straightened up, turned around, and said in a cheerful voice, "Olivia, let's continue shopping and use my 'husband's' card."

"Sure," Olivia said as if she played her role.

The scene was finished.

In the afternoon, Isabella cleared the table and floor after reading Twitter, she said to herself, "Why?"

She played the role of the victim in front of Victoria.

But no one pitied her.

And the public opinion was actually leaning towards Victoria.

Why on earth was that?

Could Victoria from abroad actually win so many people's hearts?

Thaddeus came back injured. Seeing the over 6-foot-tall bodyguardlooking disheveled , she couldn't help but question, "Where have you been?"

"After the last incident with Mr. Montgomery, I was taken by Mr. Harrington's people to their Security Department for them to beat," Thaddeus said.

Isabella frowned. No wonder she couldn't call him.

Thaddeus lowered his head. He couldn't tell Isabella about the grievances he had suffered recently, but the people Alexander deployed were indeed very skilled, and some were specifically assigned to beat him.

Isabella couldn't help but burst into tears, complaining, "Is there no one around me who is useful?"

All these years, she had never felt so defeated.

Although she once loved a married man, that woman couldn't do anything to trouble her. She walked out of that mansion with her head held high. Now, looking at her residence and thinking about what Victoria had said, Isabella suddenly felt tense. 'Would there come a day when even this house would no longer belong to me?'

This was given to her by Alexander when he thought she was pregnant with his child.

He agreed with her suggestion.

Isabella silently walked to the bathroom. Thaddeus looked up at her back and couldn't help but frown.

In the bathroom, Isabella looked at her haggard self, wondering where it all went wrong. She couldn't figure it out.

'Don't I look pitiful enough to make men feel sorry for me?' She thought.

Didn't men like such delicate women?

After Victoria's parents died, he felt obligated to care for her. Though her flat was modest and cheap, he went there every night.

He owned the best mansion in the city, so what was he after?

Was it just for being responsible? Or anything else...

Isabella now even doubted that Alexander had ever had a sexual relationship with Victoria.

Thaddeus had said that Victoria only thought she was raped because she saw blood on the bed.

No, Alexander certainly didn't avoid sleeping with her out of love.

It must be because he didn't care.

After all, Victoria caused her own parents' deaths.

The other two in a car perished, but she survived.

Alexander wouldn't fall for Victoria or her figure.

Morality must explain it.

The entire Harrington family acted out of morality.

When Alexander went to Victoria's place again, it was eight in the evening.

Victoria, Janaye, and Olivia were having dinner.

Alexander stood at her door. When he was about to enter the code, he noticed the two cars downstairs and withdrew his hand.

Until her neighbor came home, he realized that guylooked like a fitness coach.

His coat was printed with the name of agym. Alexander looked at him, and the fitness coach seemed unfazed by Alexander and asked, "Are you looking for someone?"

"My wife lives here," Alexander replied calmly.

The coach, who was roughly at Alexander's age, concluded he was a boss based on his clothes. He nodded without questioning Alexander's response and said before entering, "Actually, I just moved in, so I don't know if it's a man or a woman living there. If you find it inconvenient to go in, you can wait at my place for a while."

"Thanks, but no need." Alexander didn't understand what the man meant, but he quickly entered a string of codes and went in.

The three women were chatting and looked towards the door when they heard it open.

"It must be Alexander," Janaye said.

"Adrian knows the code, too," Victoria whispered.

Even Janaye seemed to have heard some big secret.

But when they saw Alexander enter, Janaye instinctively stood up. "Mr. Harrington."

Alexander, in a black suit, walked in unhurriedly. "Sit down."

He planned to arrive after supper to avoid interrupting them even though he hadn't eaten dinner himself.

Victoria looked at him, puzzled. "Why are you here again?"

"Dummy, of course. Alexander keeps coming as long as you're here," Olivia answered for him.

Alexander didn't refute. He just walked over, pulled out the chair next to her, and sat down.

"I'll get Mr. Harrington some utensils." Janaye immediately went inside to get utensils when she saw him sit down.

Alexander looked at Victoria. "Can I join you?"

"If I say no, will you leave?" Victoria asked him.

Alexander smiled and said nothing more.

Seeing Alexander's restrained demeanor, Olivia snickered. It looked like Alexander had quite the self-control.

Victoria's heart skipped a few beats after seeing his silent demeanor.

She thought he looked incredibly handsome when he didn't speak.

But when he talked to her, it made her very frustrated.

After dinner, Olivia and Janaye quickly found excuses to leave.

Victoria and Alexander went to see them off together. After they left, the two looked at each other, and Alexander asked her in a low voice, "Aren't you going in?"

Victoria said, "No, I haven't finished seeing off the guests."

"What?" Alexander was stunned.

Victoria replied, "You."

Alexander's eyes twinkled with amusement, but he showed no intention of leaving.

Victoria also smiled but insisted on seeing him off.

Then, the door across the hall opened.

Both instinctlylooked over.

The handsome coach came out with a bag, "Hey, I'm going out for a ride. Can I get your contact info? If you want training, I can give you a 20% discount."

"Such a handsome fitness coach." Victoria praised and took out her phone.

Alexander frowned deeply, glaring as Victoria opened her Facebook.

The coach quickly opened his, "You mainly need to train your chest and glutes to make your lines more defined."

"Then I'll definitely come to you another day, but you'd better give a bigger discount," Victoria said.

"No problem, bye." The coach glanced at the unhappy man beside her and waved goodbye with a smile.

After he left, Victoria quickly put her phone back in her pocket and looked at Alexander, "Why are you still here?"

"Because I haven't had my little bunny yet," Alexander replied.

"Who's your little bunny?" Victoria retorted, trying to close the door after entering.

But Alexander slipped in first and continued to glare at her.

She had added a fitness coach's contact and requested a discount in front of him. Did she train her chest and legs?

That guy was really a peeping Tom. He just fixed his eyes on Victoria's chest and legs, without even a glimpse on Alexander's nice look.

Seeing his increasingly dark expression, Victoria nervously took two steps back.

Alexander closed the door and continued to look down at her, stepping forward. "Delete that guy immediately."

"I won't," Victoria refused.

"Alright, forget it," Alexander said.
