Chapter 47 Eating the Lychees She Just Peeled
Upon hearing his voice, Victoria quickly turned around, then looked at the person in front of her in shock, "Alexander, how did you..."
"Isabella wants lychees. You should personally select them. Now."
"Yes."
The two of them locked eyes for a moment, but Victoria was the first to back down, lowering her head in agreement.
Victoria felt more like a runner than a secretary, especially when she was in the fruit shop selecting lychees.
Later, neither of them came out again.
Victoria bought the lychees, washed them, arranged them on a plate, and brought them in.
Alexander was already sitting behind his desk working, and Isabella was sitting on the sofa looking at her phone.
When she saw Victoria enter, Isabella smiled again, "Vicky, I was too worried about Alex earlier, and I spoke harshly. I'm sorry."
"It's okay."
Victoria responded politely and was about to leave.
"Vicky, where did you buy these big lychees? They look good; do you want to eat together?"
"No need, I don't like lychees."
"Alex, look at her; she's still mad at me."
Isabella immediately turned to Alexander and spoke in a coquettish manner.
Alexander glanced at Victoria, "If Isabella asks you to eat, just take a couple."
"Right." Isabella then actually picked two for her.
Victoria had no choice but to reach out to take them, "Thank you."
"You're welcome, just don't be mad at me."
"Um, then I won't disturb you."
Victoria held the lychees and turned to leave.
Alexander watched her retreating figure, helplessly putting down the documents in his hand.
It was only after Victoria left that Isabella turned to look at Alexander again. Then, she quickly peeled a lychee and tasted it. After tasting it, she had an idea, peeled another one, and got up.
"Alex, you should also try one. I think it's a bit bitter."
"Is it?"
Alexander frowned, then stood up.
"Um, you taste it." Isabella said to him.
"Wait a moment."
Alexander said and then went out.
Isabella was puzzled and followed him.
Victoria and Jasmine were sitting in their office chairs, each with a freshly peeled lychee.
Jasmine saw him approaching and wanted to quickly eat the lychee, so she put it in her mouth, but it was too big and she couldn't swallow it all at once.
Victoria was much calmer.
Alexander suddenly walked up to her, "Where did you buy these? Why didn't you select them carefully?"
"What?"
The fruit shops around here were very expensive and very good. He made it seem like she didn't choose well.
"It's bitter." Alexander said.
Victoria was stunned.
Bitter?
"No, it's very sweet."
Jasmine had already finished eating and quickly explained.
Alexander glanced at her, then looked at the lychee in Victoria's hand, and asked, "Is it?"
Before Victoria could say anything, he had already grabbed her wrist and lowered his head.
Oh... She didn’t even have a chance to taste the one she just peeled.
Alexander chewed slowly; he didn’t even feel annoyed when he saw her unhappy look. He just took a tissue from the side, held her hand, and wiped her fingers one by one, "You're such a grown woman and you still get your hands all messy."
Victoria was completely speechless.
What was he doing?
Wiping her hands?
He didn't need to, did he?
"Mr. Harrington, I can do it myself."
Victoria twisted her wrist, trying to get him to let go.
Jasmine had even forgotten to breathe... again.
"It's already clean, stop twisting. Your wrist is all red; doesn't it hurt?"
Alexander's deep voice reminded her.
