Chapter 569 A Nursery
"Tie me up? Alexander," Victoria called out his name in fear, touching his chest.
Alexander whispered, "Don't be afraid. Just spice things up."
"My knee hurts a lot. Can you apply some ointment on it first? I promise I won't run, okay?"
Victoria, scared, started thinking quickly.
She needed to hide that expensive but damn scarf he had.
Alexander asked, "You really won't run, no matter what I do tonight?"
He looked at her seriously. Some things didn't need to be said.
Victoria nodded as she replied, "Yes, anything."
She was just lying to him. Of course, it wouldn't really be anything.
This house was so big that she could go to any room. She didn't believe he could find her.
Alexander said, "Alright."
He was just teasing her; he wouldn't make her endure pain to have sex with him.
Alexander had barely left for half a minute before she couldn't resist getting out of bed. She didn't know where he had put her shoes, so she walked barefoot, feeling it made less noise.
Victoria took the long scarf and quickly left the room.
She noticed he had gone downstairs, knowing she couldn't escape, she looked upstairs.
She ran to the third floor.
After going downstairs, Alexander stood by the stairs for a few seconds before heading to where the first aid kit was kept.
Victoria randomly opened a door and went in. It was a pink room.
The scarf in her hand accidentally fell to the floor as she stared inside.
The room was filled with various movie merchandise that little girls liked, centered around an expensive crib with white canopy netting, which was the only white thing in the room.
Victoria was stunned, sitting on the edge of a small bed, picking up a nearby mermaid doll and holding it, staring blankly at the crib.
There was a nursery on the third floor.
Tears welled up in Victoria's eyes, and she suddenly forgot everything, just sitting there in a daze.
Alexander came upstairs and saw the light on in the princess room through the door crack. He walked over and pushed the door open but didn't rush in.
He picked up the scarf from the floor, holding it in his hand, and looked at her.
Hearing the noise, Victoria looked at him with misty eyes. Only then did he slowly walk over.
Victoria asked, "Why is it exactly like my childhood room?"
"Because it's for our daughter," Alexander replied.
Victoria stared at him for a few seconds before coming to her senses, lowering her eyes and telling herself not to believe him.
She only knew what her room looked like from childhood photos; he must have her photos too.
She believed he just liked the look of her room and didn't really want to have a baby with her.
He could have a baby with any woman, just like any woman could lie in his bed.
Alexander sat down next to her, put the scarf aside, opened the first aid kit, and found some ointment to apply on her knee.
Though it was scraped and bleeding a bit, it didn't seem to have hurt the bone.
Victoria watched him carefully treat her wound, feeling a warmth in her heart but not forgetting to quietly hide the scarf.
Alexander seemed not to notice her hiding the scarf between herself and the mermaid doll, focusing on treating her wound.
Every time he showed concern for her, she would have the illusion that he loved her deeply.
But he didn't.
He married Tessa right after she faked her death.
And he continued taking Isabella's calls and meeting her even after she had caused them so much pain.
Victoria lowered her gaze, telling herself that since she had decided to be single for life, she shouldn't think about these feelings anymore.
She thought, 'Why torture myself in this unclear relationship?'
"Alright, when you shower, wrap this area with plastic wrap to keep it dry," Alexander said softly, looking at her scraped knee.
"Okay," she replied in a hoarse voice.
Alexander looked at her dejected expression and couldn't help but gently stroke her cheek. "Victoria."
Victoria looked up, trying to smile at him, "Thank you."
Alexander asked, "Thank me for what?"
Victoria looked at him, puzzled.
"Thank me for scaring you into falling? Or thank me for making you sad?" Alexander spoke slowly in a deep voice, then he cupped her face, looking at her sorrowful expression as he leaned closer.
He pressed their foreheads together, "Don't lose faith in me, okay?"
Victoria's long eyelashes lowered, not knowing how to respond.
Until his lips pressed against hers, she turned her face, and his lips accidentally landed on her delicate earlobe.
Alexander stayed in that position for several seconds without moving, while Victoria, feeling awkward, finally came to her senses and moved aside.
But her lowered shoulder was quickly grasped by his broad, warm hand. He looked at her, avoiding eyes, and said, "Let's go back to our room."
Victoria asked, "I, I want to sleep here, is that okay?"
"Wouldn't that be inappropriate?" Alexander pondered and asked her back when she humbly inquired.
Victoria looked at him, puzzled. "Why would it be inappropriate?"
"If our daughter knew her parents used her room before she was born and even did it in her room..." Alexander looked at Victoria, speaking slowly.
Victoria quickly averted her gaze from his face, feeling her heart almost leap out to him.
She thought, 'Can loving someone really make people so irrational? Even if he leaves me scarred, I still can't let go. Why does all reason seem to disappear when I see him?'
At this moment, she only wanted to get closer to him, closer.
But she couldn't do that.
The remaining rationality forced her to refuse him, saying softly, "I'll sleep here alone."
"Honey, I don't want to sleep alone anymore."
Alexander's lips moved from her earlobe to her neck, and his voice was low and sexy.
Victoria said nothing more, just occasionally sobbing, her eyelashes always wet with tears.
She was pretending to be weak.
"You can cry in our room." Alexander, seeing her like this, had no choice but to want to leave quickly.
But when he tried to take the mermaid doll from her arms, she held it tightly.
Alexander smiled helplessly. "Do you like this?"
Victoria remained silent, just holding it tightly.
"Alright," Alexander said.
Before Victoria could react, he had already gotten out of bed and quickly picked her up.
"Let it stay in our bed for a few minutes, but not too long,"Alexander said as he carried her out.
Victoria, holding the mermaid doll, looked at him with tear-filled eyes. Even when she was so humble, he still wouldn't let her go.
She thought, 'Bastard. What should I do next? Luckily, I had hidden the scarf earlier. Wait, where was the scarf?'
