Chapter 652 To Be Together Forever
In early December, the weather was getting colder and colder.
That night at the Harrington Mansion, Victoria suddenly felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom to throw up.
Eloise couldn't help but murmur, "Victoria's been puking a lot lately."
"Yeah, and the food's been super bland. She's still like this..." Arabella was also a bit worried.
A servant who was serving the food suddenly interjected, "Could she be having a girl? When I was pregnant with my daughter, I threw up a lot. When I had my son, there were no problems at all."
Everyone suddenly fell silent.
After a while, Brett was the first to speak, "A girl would be nice. Girls are more affectionate."
"That's right, and they're still young. They won't just have one child."
"I miss my daughter. If this baby is a girl, you must let me take care of her for a while." Arabella, thinking of her own daughter who was far away, looked across at Alexander and said.
Alexander smiled faintly and said as he stood up, "We won't stop you from seeing and taking care of her."
Then, under everyone's gaze, he left the dining room.
Victoria, feeling dizzy from throwing up, turned her head at the sound of footsteps and sighed helplessly when she saw who it was, "I don't think I can continue the dinner."
"It's okay, you can eat later when you feel better," Alexander approached, gently rubbing her back and speaking softly.
"Okay," Victoria agreed, not wanting to spoil the elders' mood.
If this baby really was a girl, then Alexander's dream would come true.
Thinking about having a little girl in a princess dress running around him all day made him feel satisfied. Looking at Victoria, he couldn't help but murmur, "If our child is a girl, let's keep her by our side."
"What?" Victoria was puzzled.
"Keep her by our side so I can see her anytime," Alexander explained.
It was also because his sister had left home at a young age to do archaeology, staying in so many places but never at home.
He didn't want his daughter to leave at a young age, only being able to see her through video calls.
He wanted the three of them to always be together.
"You seem a bit clingy. Our daughter will probably get annoyed with you in the future," Victoria smiled.
"Really?" Alexander looked worried.
He couldn't let his precious daughter get annoyed with him.
"Of course, girls hate it when their fathers are too strict."
"In that case, you be the strict mom, and I'll be the kind dad." Alexander quickly came up with a solution.
Victoria stared at him for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.
She was actually trying to scare him. Alexander doted on her, and they talked on the phone every day without getting annoyed, only feeling reassured.
Alexander helped Victoria walk out. When they returned to the dining table, Eloise immediately showed concern, "Victoria, if you can't hold on, you don't have to stay with us. Go to bed and have them bring your meal to you."
"It's okay, Grandma, as long as you don't think I'm spoiling the fun."
"No one would think that. We're just worried about you," Arabella said.
Victoria felt very warm inside. Alexander served her a bowl of soup, and she whispered, "It's too much."
"It's okay, I'll finish the rest," Alexander said seriously in a low voice.
Victoria felt her eyes well up.
After dinner, they hung out in the living room for a bit. Then Alexander took Victoria upstairs. Victoria whispered, "Why'd you bring me up so fast?"
"You're pregnant. You need to sleep early and get enough rest," Alexander said.
"I slept plenty during the day."
Alexander sat on the edge of the bed, pulled her onto his lap, and hugged her, looking up at her as he continued, "Are you mad at me?"
"Who would dare be mad at you? Didn't you promise to take me out for a shoot, but then..."
"But then what?"
"Alexander, did you plan for me to get pregnant so you could keep me with you for half a month?" Victoria suddenly realized and asked him.
Alexander held her, smiling a bit smugly but speaking seriously, "I was just guessing at the time. I couldn't be sure about it. Besides, do you really think I like you going out to shoot movies for that little money?"
"You don't care about that money, but I do." Victoria pouted.
"What's mine is yours. Besides, do you think I'd be okay with watching you do intimate scenes with other men? Honey, do you really think your husband is that generous?" Alexander patiently asked her.
Victoria gazed at him for a moment before sighing in resignation and resting her head on his shoulder. She murmured, "Alexander, you truly are the master of torment."
"Did I make things difficult for you?" Alexander asked, looking at her gently.
"Yes." She nodded, but when her gaze accidentally met his deep eyes, her heart skipped a beat.
She remembered someone had told her that fate would arrange everything. She and he were probably like that.
If she got hurt again, she wouldn't be able to face him. She deeply wished to be with Alexander forever, but such a certain future seemed out of reach for them.
Alexander kissed her forehead gently and whispered, "Don't overthink it. I'll always be with you..."
"Don't say it. Alexander, show me. Actions speak louder than words," Victoria raised her hand to cover his lips, gently reminding him.
She didn't want to hear those words that would mess with her mind anymore.
She wasn't as discerning or self-controlled as she thought.
She was actually a woman who could easily get lost in love, easily falling for his brief affection.
Alexander didn't say anything more. He just held her wrist to his chest, then leaned in and kissed her lips again.
Soon he had her on the bed, saying, "I want you to tell me."
Victoria was stunned for a moment, then, holding back a laugh, said, "I don't want to."
"Why not?"
"I can't let you get too smug." Victoria gently touched his Adam's apple. It was so big, so...
She couldn't help but kiss it, lightly sucking.
Alexander's eyes half-closed; he almost lost his breath.
"Don't think you can seduce me just because you're pregnant." Alexander was a bit overwhelmed.
"I'm just interested in one thing about you. Is that seducing you?" Victoria pouted.
"Oh really? You're only interested in one thing about me?" Alexander's husky voice was filled with undisguised desire.
The cozy room grew quieter, and the two on the bed gradually lost themselves in their kisses.
When his phone rang, he answered it while kissing her, then stopped to listen and just smiled, "I'm not going. I'm staying with my wife."
Victoria's face felt hot. He never used to say that.
Alexander put down the phone, placed his hand under her body, kissed her, and murmured, "Victoria, say you love me."
