Chapter 463 Her door code is Alexander's birthday
The next day, it was sunny.
Her eyes were dry and rough. Victoria felt hot after opening them.
Her phone and doorbell kept ringing.
She reluctantly turned over and picked up the phone. "Hello, Adrian."
"Are you home?" Adrian paused at the sound of her voice but then just asked this question.
"I'm here," Victoria replied.
"Then I'll let myself in. What's the door code?" Adrian asked.
After Victoria gave him the code, he hesitated before entering.
The code was Alexander's birthday.
Adrian found it amusing, amusing himself.
But he just couldn't let her go.
She lay pale and bloodless in the bedroom when he entered.
He quickly walked over, sat by the bed, and touched her forehead. "How did you get such a fever? Where's Alexander? Isn't he taking care of you?"
Hearing that, Victoria, who had calmed down, suddenly felt her eyes burning with tears again.
Alexander didn't have time to see her.
He was definitely comforting that other woman.
Victoria couldn't help it. She turned to bury in the pillow like a fool.
Hot tears flowed out again uncontrollably.
"Victoria." Adrian leaned in, holding her shoulder gently. "Alright, it's okay now. I'm here, ain't I? I'll make you something to eat first, then get you some fever medicine, okay?"
Victoria hid her tears and didn't speak.
"I'll find a medicine that's not too bitter. You'll like it, okay?" Adrian said.
At that, Victoria couldn't hold back anymore and started crying.
Why couldn't Alexander focus on being good to her alone?
Who did he want?
He couldn'tpossess both.
He was a selfish bastard. If she saw him again, she would definitely punch and kick him until he was black and blue.
She hated him.
'He is a heartless man. How could he do this, constantly teasing me while comforting the one who bullied me?' She cursed him silently, hundreds and thousands of times.
Adrian wiped her tears, then went to find the medicine.
The soup was valuable and tasty at this moment.
But because of her fever, she didn't have much appetite.
Later, Adrian brought her the fever medicine. "Drink it slowly."
"Got it," Victoria replied.
She regained her senses, but her eyes were puffy and red from sobbing, and her voice was raspy.
Adrian saw that she had regained her senses, but his heart ached. He couldn't help but ask, "Does it have to be Alexander?"
Victoria held the medicine, replying, "Of course not."
She stubbornly admitted it, but her face showed otherwise.
She was saying it out of anger.
Adrian knew they must have fought.
He felt terrible for Victoria without knowing why.
He wanted to give her more happiness.
He wanted her to be the happy Victoria she used to be.
She used to be sunny, warm, and sweet.
But now she was pitiful, like an abandoned little rabbit, always waiting at the owner's door.
What was she holding on to?
And what was he holding on to?
Her phone rang. It was Olivia.
Adrian picked it up for her. "Are you close with Olivia?"
"Alexander introduced us," Victoria said as she took the phone and answered it.
Adrian couldn't help but look at her again.
Did Alexander introduce Olivia to her to keep her around?
Adrian lowered his head in sadness but then heard her shocked voice, "What? Which hospital is he in?"
When Adrian looked up, she was already getting out of bed anxiously.
But she had a high fever. As soon as she stood up, she felt dizzy and almost fell.
Adrian reacted quickly, immediately getting up to support her. Seeing how worried she was, he put the call on speaker and asked for her, "Olivia, it's Adrian. Who's in trouble?"
"Alexander? What happened to him?" Adrian's heart tightened.
"A car accident? Last night? I got it. I put it on speaker. Victoria is listening, but she has a fever. Okay, I'll hang up now," Adrian said.
Adrian hung up the phone and looked at Victoria.
Victoria sat on the bed and didn't move.
Adrian looked at her. "Do you want to go to the hospital? I can take you."
"No need," Victoria whispered, then silently drank her medicine.
Why should she go?
He was comforting her enemy last night.
Victoria thought as she finished her medicine and flungherself back on the bed, covering herself with the quilt. "Adrian, please close the door when you leave."
"Okay." Adrian sat by her bed, contemplating how scared she appeared after hearing of Alexander's accident. Despite her worry, she was burrowing herself under the quilt as if her heart had already raced out.
Adrian felt heartbroken. He didn't understand why Victoria was torturing herself. If Alexander couldn't make her happy, why didn't she leave?
He tucked her in and answered his phone when it rang, speaking softly, "Wait a moment."
He left the bedroom to take the call. "Victoria has a high fever. I'll be back later."
He hung up and found the fever patches.
In just a few minutes, she had fallen asleep again, her forehead covered in tiny beads of sweat.
He wiped them away with a tissue and applied the fever patch to her forehead, then another one to the back of her neck.
When Alexander arrived, he saw that scene.
Adrian heard footsteps and turned around.
The brothers locked eyes for a moment, panting and struggling to gather himself, Alexander inquired, "What are you doing?"
"Applying a fever patch." Adrian felt inexplicably guilty, but he gently stood up, held the patch, and spoke softly, "Victoria has a fever."
Alexander was concussed last night in a car collision. He learned she had a fever early in the morning and rushed to see her over the hospital's concerns, only to see this.
Suppressing his rage and disappointment, Alexander panted and turned to Adrian. "You can leave now."
"Alexander," Adrian called.
"Ivan is waiting for you downstairs," Alexander said again.
Only then did Adrian know Ivan hadn't left. He had to give in. Before leaving, he glanced at the person on the bed and then walked over to Alexander. "She has a high fever. Don't lose your temper when she wakes up."
"Adrian, she's my wife," Alexander said to Adrian, suppressing his heartache.
Adrian lowered his head, feeling wronged. "I know. I didn't do anything with her. If we can't be a couple, we'll be friends."
"Get downstairs right now." Alexander couldn't stand the wordsabout being friends if they couldn't be a couple.
It sounded especially fake.
Adrian refuted his statements with his eyes, heart, and even breath.
He was five years older than Adrian, so he could definitely see what Adrian meant.
Adrian had to leave.
Alexander still had a bandage on his head, which felt uncomfortable, so he tore it off.
He didn't want to look like he was seriously injured.
It was just a cut on his forehead.
He came over, sat alongside her, and examined her forehead, fever patch, and Adrian's. He opened it and applied it to her neck.
When he put her down, her eyelashes fluttered.
She opened her eyes in a haze and saw Alexander.
She thought it was funny, definitely dreaming.
She didn't say anything and went back to sleep.
Later, she slept peacefully and always saw that figure. Alexander's first position was sitting, then sleeping alongside her.
She thought she must have been feverish. Otherwise, why would she keep seeing Alexander?
Alexander was also looking at her.
Her complexion improved with the fever patch.
He wondered how she managed to get herself a fever.
Was she that bad at taking care of herself?
Every time he wasn't around, she had problems.
She was a little troublemaker.
Did she want him to feel bad?
Since marrying her, Alexander had often felt like something was tugging at his heart, ready to pull it out at any moment.
He clutched her face, bent his head to eye level, and said, "Victoria?"
