Chapter 515 Sowing Discord

When Alexander went downstairs, Victoria was already fast asleep.

Having a husband made it easier for her to sleep. No one had told her that, but since their relationship improved, she rarely had insomnia.

“Mr. Harrington, could you consider our age next time and not make us wait so late?”

Alexander, genuinely sincere, replied, “Sorry, I'll keep that in mind.”

Benjamin and Edward smiled, surprised by Alexander's apology.

Edward teased, “Looks like having a wife really changes a man, huh? Such a big change in temperament.”

Alexander sat down, his long legs almost too long for the space between the sofa and the table.

They chatted for a few minutes before getting down to business.

Alexander was determined to make this wedding grand, not for the Harrington family, but for Victoria and himself.

“The island has been prepped for three months, and the plants are thriving. Should we go a day early?”

“Yes,” Alexander agreed, studying the photos they brought back.

Benjamin suddenly asked, “Should we call Sebastian back?”

Edward looked at Alexander immediately.

“If he wants to,” Alexander said without much thought.

Edward added, “Sebastian feels really guilty.”

Sebastian had grown up with them, and they knew how tough his situation was in the Montague family. Publicly acknowledging the child as his was his way of seeking redemption.

Alexander said, “Don't call Isabella.”

He was certain that women was more complicated than they imagined.

Benjamin and Edward didn't bring it up again, only asking, “Do you think Isabella's illness is real or fake? The results we found were real.”

Alexander replied calmly, “It's fake. Victoria and Adrian confirmed it.”

Edward and Benjamin looked at Alexander in shock.

Alexander thought for a while and added, “Victoria took Isabella's used cup for testing, and Adrian got her blood.”

Alexander had looked at the results out of boredom.

“Fake. So, if Isabella pretends to be sick again…”

“Do as you please,” Alexander said, not caring.

Whether Isabella wanted to act or play along, he and Victoria didn't mind. They even joked about it.

However, those who schemed against them wouldn't have a good outcome.

“We've settled the matter with Isabella. Is Adrian going to attend the wedding?” Benjamin asked.

Even Edward couldn't help but remind him, “Be careful Adrian doesn't try to steal the bride.”

“If he could have taken her, he would have done it already,” Alexander said calmly.

He knew Victoria didn't love Adrian. Sometimes she would praise Adrian just to annoy him, just like how he bought the same perfume as Isabella and sprayed it all over the car to annoy her.

Edward laughed, “It's hard to believe you and Victoria are actually having a wedding. A few months ago, you were going to marry Isabella.”

It all seemed so surreal. How did things change so suddenly?

Benjamin glanced at Alexander and asked, “How do you feel about it?”

“Finally,” Alexander said, his expression certain.

The next day, when Victoria woke up, she was still groggy and a bit dizzy. She thought she might have a cold. After all, she had been stripped down to just her underwear at the door late at night.

Victoria's phone rang, and she reached for it.

“Hello? She's not awake yet. What's up?” Alexander's voice suddenly sounded.

Victoria quickly opened her eyes and saw Alexander standing by the bed, taking the call. He looked down at her with an imposing presence, answering her phone.

"A wedding gift on the day of the wedding isn't too late. Adrian, I hope you understand that Victoria will be your sister-in-law," Alexander said in a deep voice before hanging up.

Alexander stood there, cold yet dazzling, in simple black trousers and a white shirt. Victoria felt like all the flowers in the world had bloomed. It took her a moment to snap out of her reverie, mainly because he gave her a glare.

"Are you always that cold when talking to Adrian?" Victoria's soft voice made Alexander less angry.

Alexander sat beside her, his hand slipping under the covers to pinch her skin. "Am I cold?"

"What do you think?" Victoria blushed from his pinch, wanting to laugh but not daring to.

Alexander sighed. ""Inevitably, we'll all be in the same city one day. The less warmth, the better.""

Victoria understood and agreed. "Alright."

With the wedding approaching, Victoria asked during breakfast, "Do you think I should lose some weight before the wedding?"

Alexander replied, "Where do you want to lose it? I'll help you."

Victoria was a bit surprised.

Alexander added, "By the way, didn't James say last time that your chest was small? Try on the wedding dress again tomorrow and see if there's been any improvement."

Victoria couldn't believe he could say such things with a straight face. Thinking about their recent intimacy, she quietly lowered her head, wondering, 'Does this count as married life?'

Looking at his incredibly handsome and stern face, her heart began to flutter again.

That day, Arabella asked Victoria to take a day off and go shopping. As they walked, they ran into Naomi and Isabella. Naomi greeted them warmly. "Mrs. Arabella Harrington, out shopping too? What a coincidence."

Isabella quickly nodded and greeted Arabella. "Hello, Mrs. Arabella Harrington."

Although Isabella knew Arabella never liked her, she still had to put on a good front because Arabella would become her mother-in-law in the future. Until she could contend with Arabella, Isabella wouldn't offend her.

"You two are quite polite, but I don't want to accept it," Arabella smiled faintly and then said to Victoria, "Victoria, let's go somewhere else."

"Okay," Victoria agreed and turned to walk away with her.

Isabella felt humiliated, her eyes filled with hatred.

Naomi immediately said, "Follow them."

Isabella didn't understand, but Naomi had already followed, so she had no choice but to follow too.

Naomi said to Arabella, "What are you buying? Let me help you judge its quality."

"You help me judge? Well, I've heard some people say you're good at picking things, but no need," Arabella stopped and said to Naomi slowly, not even looking at her directly.

Naomi still smiled and said, "I know the previous issues between Isabella and Alexander caused some friction between our families, but we all live in the same city and will see each other often. If we can't be in-laws, we can still be friends."

Arabella sneered, "Friends? Some people can never become friends, only enemies."

Arabella knew why Naomi wanted to be friends, but she had no fondness for women like Naomi who climbed up as mistresses.

Isabella glanced at Victoria and then reminded Arabella, "I heard that Victoria and Alexander's wedding is on an island. Your legs have some ailments; can you handle the island's conditions?"

Naomi looked at Victoria with disdain, saying, "If what Isabella says is true, the island's climate is humid, and your legs will suffer. These youngsters only care about what they want, without a thought for whether us old folks can handle it."."

Victoria understood they were trying to sow discord and gently reassured Arabella, "Arabella, don't worry. Your room will definitely be the most comfortable temperature."
