Chapter 458 He Will Also Be Cautious
Victoria could tell he was wary fromhis tone. His eyes conveyed caution when she looked up, just like she first saw him when they reunited two years later.
Victoria's eyes had already welled up when he cautiously asked if she could not be angry, and now they were even more blurred.
She lowered her gaze, trying hard to hide the wellingtearsin her eyes.
"Don't do this again."
She whispered, then immediately lowered her head to drink her oatmeal, stopping him from speaking further.
Alexander felt a bit relieved. Seeing that she couldn't bear to blame him, he almost smiled with joy.
At noon, Victoria went to eat with Janaye after work.
As soon as they entered the restaurant and ordered, a waiter approached them and asked, "Are you Mrs. Harrington?"
"Yes," Victoria replied as she looked up at him curiously.
"A few guests claim to be your friends and want to invite you upstairs," the waiter added.
Upon hearing this, Victoria quickly agreed, "Okay, I'll be right there."
After the waiter left, Victoria said, "It should be Jason and the others. Let's go up and sit with them."
"Sure, I love meeting handsome guys," Janaye agreed.
They went upstairs together.
But when they reached the private room, both of them were stunned.
They were not Victoria's young friends but some middle-aged men.
One of them opened the door just as they were about to. Upon seeing them, Dorian smiled and said, "Mrs. Shaba is also here, but today, we only invited Mrs. Harrington for lunch, okay?"
"Alright." Janaye awkwardly stepped aside, although she worried about Victoria.
"I have nothing to discuss with Mr. Montgomery. If it's business, please talk at the office building," Victoria said, about to leave.
"Come in first, and then we'll talk." Dorian had already grabbed her shoulder.
He looked gentlemanly, but his hand grasping Victoria's shoulder had bulging knuckles.
Victoria's shoulder hurt, and he seemed friendly but was actually forcing her.
After Dorian closed the door from inside, Janaye suddenly felt scared.
As she was about to find someone to help, someone stopped her. "Mrs. Shaba, don't meddle."
"Why? What do they want to do to Mrs. Harrington?" Janaye asked.
"We just chat," that person replied.
"Then what am I meddling in? Move aside," Janaye said.
"For your good, Mrs. Shaba, don't tell what happened this noon," he threatened.
It was Isabella's bodyguard, Thaddeus, who had recently been working for Dorian.
"I understand," Janaye said and then walked away.
But she didn't stay to eat. Instead, she left.
Thaddeus didn't care as she left. He stood outside the door.
After leaving, Janaye ran a long way and quickly took out her phone. "Shoure, what should I do? Victoria is locked in the private room by Dorian!"
"What? Don't panic. Tell meclearly," Shoure comforted.
"When we were dining at a nearby restaurant, the waiter said some friends were looking for Victoria. Then, it would help if you thought of something. I feel Victoria is in danger," Janaye said.
"Wait, we're coming right away," Shoure replied.
Shoure knew it was urgent and immediately told the person next to him who was reading an agreement, "Victoria has been taken to the private room by Dorian."
Alexander quickly glanced up from his document.
The surrounding air was very quiet. After a few seconds, Alexander said, "Call the restaurant owner and have him go there immediately."
"Okay," Shoure agreed and immediately made the call.
Alexander also put the agreement aside, got up, and walked briskly towards the door.
