Chapter 546 You Saw Me in Bed with Isabella
"Go ahead and leave, but don't think you'll ever see your parents' tombstones again." Alexander spat out the words and stormed off, faster than she could react.
Victoria stood there, frozen.
Tessa, shaken by his sudden, sinister demeanor, approached Victoria. "Did I make things worse?"
Victoria shook her head, a wry smile on her face, uncertain of her next move.
She couldn't understand why Alexander was blackmailing her.
Tessa, guilt-ridden, confessed, "Actually, I've been wanting to tell you something. There's nothing between Mr. Harrington and me..."
The door suddenly flew open again, and Alexander stood there, seething. "Tessa, leave now, or don't blame me for what happens next."
Terrified, Tessa quickly fled.
Victoria stood rooted, her gaze icy as she watched him.
She sat back down, feeling a wave of helplessness wash over her.
She took her bag off her shoulder and plopped onto the sofa, opening a box of pastries.
She hadn't eaten much all day and was starving to the point of a headache.
Alexander stood outside the door, watching her eat. Seeing her calm down, he finally walked back in.
Victoria kept her head down, eating and drinking.
Before she could take a sip of her milk tea, Alexander snatched it from her and handed her a bottle of water instead.
In a bad mood, Victoria mumbled with her mouth full, "I want something sweet."
Alexander replied softly, "It's been sitting for over half an hour."
Victoria, with no other choice, drank the water and promptly burst into tears.
Alexander, who hadn't eaten all day either, was about to grab something to eat when he heard her sobbing.
His eyes darted to her, watching as she wiped her tears with the back of her hand.
"It hurts," Victoria cried out.
Alexander stood up again, opened the drawer under his desk, and his face darkened when he saw the ointment.
Victoria's phone rang, and she answered it, still wiping her tears. "Hello? Mr. Barnes, I'm eating. Okay, got it."
She gazed at Alexander with tears in her eyes, now somewhat calmer, and promptly hung up the phone.
Victoria instantly regained her composure and coldly continued eating.
She planned to finish the whole box, but Alexander soon came over and grabbed her chin.
There were crumbs at the corner of her mouth, and his thumb gently wiped them away. Then he said in a low voice, "Do you have to be so changeable?"
Victoria, who had just been as pitiful as a three-year-old abandoned and starving for days, suddenly turned into a cold, experienced woman.
Ignoring his comment, she softly said, "I'll do whatever you say, just don't threaten me with my parents' graves."
As soon as she said this, she noticed Alexander's expression change.
He didn't seem as cold anymore.
Alexander let go of her chin and then sat down beside her, instructing, "Sit on my lap."
Victoria turned to look at him skeptically.
Sit on his lap?
"Didn't you say you'd do whatever I say?" Alexander glanced at Victoria.
Knowing he was testing her limits, she hesitated.
Alexander looked at her and suddenly leaned in closer.
Feeling his breath, Victoria immediately leaned to one side.
She fell over, and Alexander was still right in front of her.
Alexander nodded with satisfaction. "This works, too."
Victoria ended up inside while Alexander lay on the outside, leaning against the sofa armrest, perfectly positioned to hold her.
Victoria's big eyes were filled with confusion and shock. How did it come to this?
Then she smelled the familiar scent of ointment and felt a bit more at ease.
Alexander spoke calmly, his voice low and certain, "Even though I'm applying ointment to you now, you know, being abandoned by you still makes me very angry."
The atmosphere around them grew quiet.
Victoria could even hear his heartbeat, and she unknowingly tensed up again.
When the ointment touched her face, Alexander's voice sounded again. "What kind of scene got you beaten like this?"
Victoria replied, "The supporting actress said the lead actress stole her man, so she had someone lock up the lead actress and personally taught her a lesson, slapping her."
Victoria thought it was quite lowbrow. However, the director said the audience liked to see them fight, which was more exciting that way.
"Did it have to be this bad?" Alexander suspected the woman did it on purpose.
"I'm a newcomer." Victoria's helpless tone confirmed his suspicion.
Getting slapped until her face was swollen would never happen to an experienced actress with connections.
Victoria had nothing. She relied on her looks and Dennis's excellent eloquence.
Many people wished she would get beaten to death.
No one in the entire crew felt sorry for Victoria.
Alexander's cool fingers gently massaged her face as he said, "If I find someone to beat her now, they'll definitely suspect you."
Victoria, who had been tense from the intimate position, suddenly relaxed and looked at him in shock.
Then he said calmly, "So we'll wait a few days to do it."
If she guessed right, Alexander was planning to have someone beat up Nicole?
Thinking about it, Victoria quickly said, "Tomorrow is my scene to hit her."
Alexander chuckled softly, continuing in a disappointed tone, "All your temper is used up on me."
Victoria's heart inexplicably warmed, and her long lashes quickly lowered.
As soon as he finished applying the ointment, she immediately got up.
But the space was too narrow, and she fell back down before she could sit properly.
Alexander was still leaning on the sofa armrest, looking straight at her.
Victoria's heart raced a few times, and then she lowered her eyes and softly said, "I have a bit of low blood sugar."
She screamed in her heart, 'Oh no. Could he think I'm trying to seduce him? Or does he think I'll be grateful just because he said he will get back at me? I won't be.'
No matter what Alexander did for Victoria now, she wouldn't be moved.
Alexander suddenly said, "It's almost October."
Victoria was puzzled. "Are you starting construction soon?"
Alexander looked at her irritably. "No."
"Then what?" Victoria couldn't remember what the month had to do with anything.
Alexander didn't say anything else; he just moved his Adam's apple and then sat up.
He was really annoyed.
September 27th was a very important day.
But Victoria seemed to have completely forgotten.
Victoria finally had a chance to sit up, too, but seeing his stern expression, she couldn't figure out what he was thinking.
She couldn't help but want to know his thoughts.
She even wondered if it was all just a misunderstanding.
Then she heard him suddenly say, "Did you see me and Isabella in bed?"
