Chapter 69 Despite the Scorching Summer, the Passion between the Lovers is Unstoppable.

"Victoria, you and Isabella live very close to each other, huh?" Jasmine was still typing away.
Victoria's hands didn't stop when she heard this, but she did find it somewhat amusing. They were more than just close. They lived in the same building; they were able to reach each other's homes within minutes.
Today, Victoria learned that Alexander and Isabella were indeed arguing but kept suppressing her emotions. She told herself it didn't matter, everything would pass. Even though she was currently a secretary, she was certain that wouldn't be the case for long. Tonight, she was going back to the Harrington Family Estate.
Half an hour later, Alexander returned, but his suit jacket was missing.
"Mr. Harrington must be a man with a tough exterior but a soft heart," Jasmine observed his tall and imposing figure until he was out of sight.
"Hmm?" Victoria was lost in thought and didn't hear her.
"When he went out, he had his jacket on, but when he came back, it was gone. He must have given it to Miss Montgomery. A smart woman like her will surely make Mr. Harrington happy again; he seemed to soften every time he was around her," Jasmine speculated, letting her imagination run wild.
Jasmine thought of all the beautiful words that could describe Alexander and Isabella while Victoria listened and smiled slightly in response.
Despite the scorching summer, the passion between the two lovers was unstoppable.
"Mr. Harrington must really love Miss Montgomery. Victoria, don't get too deeply involved," Jasmine suddenly leaned in to kindly remind her.
Jasmine thought Victoria did things well, but when it came to matters of the heart, at only twenty-three, she might not be mature enough.
'One misstep leads to a thousand regrets.’
Girls, especially, need to be careful. Falling for a married man could lead to real trouble if he lost control for a moment. Being called a homewrecker was truly embarrassing. Victoria, with her delicate appearance, surely couldn't bear such a reputation.
"Why do you think that?" Victoria asked her suddenly.
"Every time Mr. Harrington comes out, you can't bring yourself to look at him. Love runs deep, you know. Your every expression and breath have already given you away," Jasmine analyzed her while propping her chin up.
As Jasmine went on with her theories, Victoria found her heart suddenly hanging in the air. Was it that obvious? But she had been trying so hard to restrain herself. She knew she shouldn't come to work anymore. Tonight, she must resign for sure.

After work, as she was about to hail a cab, a car pulled up beside her. "Mrs. Harrington."
The driver got out and quickly came to open the car door for her. "Uncle Adam, why are you here?"
"Old Lady Harrington sent me to pick you up. Get in quickly." Uncle Adam spoke kindly.
"Okay." Victoria smiled in agreement, but as soon as she got into the car, her whole body tensed up. She felt so stiff that she thought she might be made of metal.
Uncle Adam was the driver for the Harrington Family, exclusively for Mr. Harrington Sr. and Old Lady Harrington.
Since he personally came to pick them up, she didn't say much.
However, after the car door closed, she sat as far to the side as possible.
Alexander glanced at her, and in response, she looked out the window, avoiding his gaze.
It wasn't that the view outside was more captivating; she just didn't dare to look at him. Alexander noticed her clasped hands and sighed helplessly, also looking outside before moving to sit beside her.
Victoria quickly pulled her coat in front of her.
Alexander silently chuckled and looked ahead.
However, Alexander soon caught Victoria's hand and placed it on his leg.
Victoria looked over, wanting to retract her hand, but he held it tightly.
Alexander suddenly asked seriously, "Don't you know your hands have other uses?"
