Chapter 391 I'm Afraid

Victoria was completely confused.
What was he waiting for?
Victoria's heart was beating irregularly, and her breathing was becoming more cautious.
She just wanted to escape into that dark room.
"Victoria!" Alexander shouted.
"What?" Victoria was in confusion.
"Hurry up," he urged.
He didn't want to waste any more time.
He was just waiting for her to break through so he could hold her in his arms.

He wouldn't have to endure this long night anymore.

But then his phone rang quickly. He lowered his head, picked it up, and saw Isabella's number. Irritated, he answered, "What's up?"

"Have you come to the Regal Retreat?"
Isabella asked him from the window.

"Yes," Alexander replied.

"Do you want to come down and sit with me? I can't sleep." As Isabella spoke, she started sobbing softly. "Alexander, I'm so scared."

Alexander irritably lowered his head, just as the woman was about to rush out.

Alexander acted quickly, his arm immediately blocking her and swiftly pulling her into his arms, pressing her directly against him. "Underestimating me like this?"

Victoria didn't want to speak while he was on the phone. Her face showing mixed emotions as she glared at him.
But Alexander held her tightly, telling the person on the phone, "Isabella, if you need someone to be with you, find your parents or someone willing to be with you. I'm not alone here. I'm hanging up."

After Alexander hung up, he put the phone back in his pocket, then looked down at the woman in his arms. "Do you think I went to see Isabella at that time?"

"Isn't it?" Victoria asked.

"If I do, will she still be calling now?" Alexander asked again.

Victoria hesitated for a moment, but then quickly regained her composure. "She could call at any time."
'You could answer at any time.'
Victoria didn't say this out loud, but her eyes did.
"Then take a look at the address for the tiramisu," Alexander said, releasing her hand and presenting the tiramisu to her.

Its address read "the southern part of the town."
Victoria's mind buzzed.
'Is he really not going to visit Isabella? However, he responds to Isabella's call. Who knows if he's like those fickle men, offering Isabella one tiramisu and giving another to someone else?'

"You don't eat much at dinner. I worry that you might be hungry at night, but people misunderstand you to be with another woman. Do you believe I'm receiving unfair treatment?" He looked down at her, his tone becoming more accommodating and aggrieved.

Victoria just looked at him coldly and said, "Cut it out. Do you think I'll believe everything you say?"

"I can't be too polite to you." Alexander became enraged, so he just hugged her tightly while continuing to complain, "You ask Felix for the car keys to escape when you know I am going back, and he even tries to steal documents. Don't think I wouldn't know." His voice was low enough for her to hear.

He knew she was trying to steal documents.
How could it be considered theft? "Whose document is it?" Victoria looked up at him, asking hesitantly.
Hoping he understood. Those were her things.
What was wrong with taking back her own things?

"My wife's," Alexander replied.
Well, she couldn't argue with that.
Legally speaking, she is indeed his wife now.
But he was the one who wronged her first.
"You're about to lose your wife if you don't cooperate with her for the divorce," Victoria lectured him angrily.

Alexander chuckled. "Anyway, tonight, neither you nor your documents are leaving this house. Do you want to eat tiramisu with me?"

"...Sure." Victoria nodded.
Why not eat it?
If she didn't eat the tiramisu, she might end up being eaten.
Only then did Alexander let her go, but she ran pretty quickly on her two legs.
But she overlooked one thing.
