Chapter 763 Are You Looking for Me?

"I just thought she was cute. Why did Ms. Kensington suddenly get so mad?" Daisy shrank back, looking scared.

Victoria stepped up, wiped the drool from Strawberry's mouth, and explained softly, "You can't pinch a baby's face; she'll drool."

Daisy, looking frightened, hid next to Alexander and said, "Oh, I didn't know that. I won't pinch her anymore. Don't be so mad."

Alexander lowered his eyes because Daisy was clutching his sleeve.

Victoria noticed but quickly looked away and said with a faint smile, "Eve, handle the breakfast Ms. Bryant brought."

"Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Harrington and I have already prepared breakfast," Eve said deliberately as she stepped forward to take the breakfast.

"Then give it back to Ms. Bryant," Victoria replied, then went to hold Strawberry.

Alexander turned to Victoria and said, "That might be rude."

"Then Mr. Harrington, you can have breakfast with Ms. Bryant. I'm sure Ms. Bryant would be delighted," Victoria said, glancing at Daisy.

Daisy's eyes immediately lit up, and she nodded vigorously. "Sure, I'll eat with Alex."

Alexander felt a bit nauseous whenever he heard Daisy call him Alex. Victoria never called him that, except occasionally when they were playfully teasing each other in bed.

Victoria tried to hold Strawberry again, but Alexander turned and held Strawberry away from her.

Victoria said with anger, "Give Strawberry back to me!"

"You couldn't do anything last night because of your back pain, and now suddenly you can hold Strawberry?"

Faced with Alexander's question, Victoria was just surprised. She thought he was just trying to take the child from her, but he was actually concerned about her health?

Victoria stared at him, doubt creeping in. What exactly was he trying to do? And he had let Daisy sit on his lap that day. What was he pretending now?

"My back doesn't hurt anymore. Give her back to me."

Victoria tried to hold her again, but Alexander, holding Strawberry, simply turned and walked into the room.

Daisy stood awkwardly on the side, about to follow, but Eve handed her the breakfast box again.

Eve said with a flattering smile, "Ms. Bryant, you should eat the breakfast you bought yourself. Mrs. Harrington won't eat random things from outside."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Ms. Bryant, can't you see that Mr. and Mrs. Harrington are busy flirting and have no time for you? Please leave, Ms. Bryant," Eve said, gesturing for her to leave.

"Flirting? They were just fighting over Strawberry." Daisy muttered in disbelief, then couldn't help but look inside.

But suddenly, a door was slammed shut, and she instinctively looked over, only to find them gone.

Ursa had told her to get along with Victoria first, so she thought of becoming friends with Victoria. But now she wondered if Victoria regretted her decision. Was Victoria trying to take Alexander back?

"Ms. Bryant?" Eve called her again, seeing her staring at Victoria's bedroom door.

Daisy snapped back to reality and looked at Eve.

"Ms. Bryant, let me walk you out." Eve, with nothing more to say, grabbed her arm and, with some restraint, led her out.

At the door, Daisy couldn't help but look up at Eve. "Mr. Harrington came this morning, right?"

"Mr. Harrington stays with Mrs. Harrington every night."

"What?" Daisy was completely heartbroken, her face burning with discomfort.

Were they together every night in this small house? Alexander, with his noble status, living here? She couldn't believe it. He must be staying here for Strawberry's sake.

Victoria must be using Strawberry to reconcile with him. She was really willing to use her own child. Daisy's mind was racing. Suddenly, she thought of Isabella in prison, and a bold idea began to form.

Back in Victoria's house, Strawberry was giggling as Alexander held her and moved around. They were having a great time together, which made Victoria furious.

"Alexander, don't push it."

"I'm just making Strawberry happy right now."

The implication was clear: he wasn't the one causing trouble; she was.

Victoria, exhausted and panting, stood with her hands on her hips, watching him play with Strawberry. Seeing Strawberry's smiling face, she couldn't help but mutter, "You two are both ganging up on me."

After a few seconds of silence, Alexander glanced at her and saw a layer of mist on her eyelashes. He walked closer. "Hey."

"Don't I have a name?" Victoria angrily wiped her tears and looked at him, fuming.

Seeing her red eyes and temper, Alexander's heart softened. Holding Strawberry with one arm, he reached out to hug her with the other. "I'm just kidding. We both belong to you."

Victoria's eyes softened even more. He said that they both belonged to her.

Watching Strawberry obediently lay on Alexander's shoulder, looking at her, Victoria immediately wiped her tears and said in a stubborn, hoarse voice, "Give Strawberry back to me."

This time, Alexander didn't dodge. He cooperated, placing Strawberry gently in her arms, making sure she didn't have to exert any effort.

After taking Strawberry, Victoria stood far away from him and said, "You can go find Ms. Bryant now."

Alexander said with a slight smile, "Eve already sent her away."

Victoria recalled his earlier comment about it being impolite to refuse her breakfast and immediately added, "Then go after her. It's rude to let her leave alone."

Alexander slowly walked up to her, speaking softly, "Should I really go?"

"Go ahead. You're just my ex-husband. Do whatever you want; you don't need to ask me."

Victoria, holding Strawberry, turned to look out the window, no longer looking at him.

Alexander stared at her aggrieved expression, feeling she was being insincere, but he sighed helplessly, "Alright, you seemed to have upset Ms. Bryant earlier. I'll go apologize and maybe have breakfast with her. That sounds good. I won't keep you company then."

He glanced at her again, seeing she remained expressionless, and turned to leave.

When Victoria heard the door, she couldn't help but mutter to Strawberry, "Who does he think he is? He is just my ex-husband."

Strawberry didn't understand but found Victoria's expression amusing and couldn't help but laugh again.

Victoria's anger melted away at the sight of her smile. "All you know is smiling."

Though she muttered in a complaining tone, she still pressed her forehead against Strawberry's.

Strawberry especially loved rubbing foreheads with her. Every time Victoria tilted her head, Strawberry would immediately cooperate. It was like their game.

"Mrs. Harrington, breakfast is ready." Eve came in to call her.

"Okay," Victoria replied, having regained her composure, and carried Strawberry out.

"Give Strawberry to me. You go eat first," said Eve.

"Alright."

Eve began playing with Strawberry while Victoria headed into the kitchen. As she saw the fried eggs and porridge on the table, a sudden emptiness filled her heart. She thought to herself, 'Did he make all this?'

Victoria knew that Eve didn't like fried eggs. Eve always considered them not nutritious enough and preferred to prepare more complex and wholesome meals for her.

Just a moment ago, Victoria had complained about Alexander. Thinking about it now, she felt she might have been too harsh. However, it was too late to apologize; Alexander had already left.

She couldn't help but turn around, then stared blankly at Alexander, who appeared behind her, hands behind his back, standing there elegantly and smiling at her. "Were you looking for me?"
