Chapter 631 Yes, You Are My Only Exception

Half an hour later, a video of Isabella being surrounded by reporters at the club entrance was uploaded online.

Alexander finished his paperwork and went to take a shower, while Victoria answered a call from Olivia.

"Hey, Victoria. Have you seen that? Isabella is trending."

"What?"

"Go check it out. Despite her fainting in the video and earning sympathy, the backlash against her is growing even stronger." Olivia hung up after saying that.

Victoria then opened the app, and sure enough, it was the hottest news of the night.

The video began with Isabella's startled screams, likely due to a car stopping abruptly nearby. Her eyes filled with fear as she glanced at the reporters, who suddenly swarmed towards her. Overwhelmed, she promptly fainted. The reporters pursued her all the way to the hospital before finally relenting.

"What are you watching?" Alexander, fresh out of the shower, heard the woman's screams and casually walked over to ask.

Victoria didn't hide it, "Isabella was surrounded by reporters."

Alexander naturally got into bed and asked, "The club entrance has been quite chaotic lately."

Victoria didn't ask further, setting her phone aside and leaning into his chest, "The reporters were hired by our company," she said.

Alexander lowered his eyes and then smiled. "I better behave myself from now on, or you'll expose all my scandals, right?"

Victoria smiled, reminiscing about the harsh words she had uttered to Isabella at the club. She wondered if he would be upset. Her hand couldn't help but draw circles on his chest, and soon she murmured, "I would never do that to you."

"Am I your exception?"

"Yes, you are my only exception," Victoria looked up at him, responding with certainty.

Alexander fixed his gaze upon her for a brief moment before gently cupping the back of her head and initiating a passionate kiss. In a dominant whisper, he entreated, "Say you love me."

"I'll owe you," Victoria whispered softly.

"How long will you owe me?" Alexander suddenly bit her.

Victoria whimpered in pain, feeling her lips swell from the bite, and the taste of blood in her mouth confirmed it.

It was definitely going to swell.

Even if she didn't have any filming to do recently, did he have to make her look bad?

Then she thought, 'I probably need to go on a diet. Dennis usually reminds me before filming, but what happens this time? He hasn't mentioned a word yet.'

"It hurts." Victoria suddenly snapped back to reality as he moved down her neck, almost suffocating her with his kisses.

"Am I getting worse? Why are you so distracted?"

"No, you're very good," Victoria praised him through the pain.

She didn't dare say he was bad, or he would surely find new ways to torment her. It hurt so much.

"Then why were you distracted?" Alexander forcefully came in front of her, pressing his forehead against hers, "What were you thinking about?"

"Nothing."

"Tell the truth."

"Thinking about savoring your skills in bed?" Victoria said.

Alexander's eyes held a hint of a smile. But at that moment, Victoria only felt danger.

He seemed ready to demonstrate his skills.

'No, please,' Victoria prayed inwardly.

Victoria's inner fear kicked in, and she reflexively hugged him, softly pleading, "Not too long; I'm still new to this; my body can't handle it."

Alexander listened to her feigned coyness, the sensation of being held by her igniting a rush of adrenaline through his veins. He didn't care what she was distracted by anymore. His lips pressed against hers again, dominantly taking over her last bit of reason and clarity.

"Say you love me."

"I'll owe..."

"Will you say it or not?"

"Alexander, please, don't push me."

"Victoria, what are you afraid of?"

Later, Alexander pressed his forehead against Victoria's, asking her with difficulty.

He always felt she was dodging, anxious, but why?

They were together and would be together forever.

Alexander couldn't help but suck on her lips again. Despite knowing it would hurt her, he didn't stop.

He wanted an answer. How long did she plan to owe him?

But even Victoria herself didn't know how long she would owe him.

She wasn't even sure how long their marriage would last.

——

The next morning, Victoria went to Dennis's new office around eight. Dennis was puzzled to see her. She wore a mask and had a scarf wrapped tightly around her neck, almost unrecognizable.

However, even after he poured her some water, Victoria didn't dare take off her mask and only asked, "Have you contacted Alexander?"

"Why would I bother him for no reason? I'd be crazy to do that!" Dennis exclaimed.

"He said I could start filming in half a month. Shouldn't you be contacting him in advance?"

"You two sleep in the same bed every day, and you still need to ask me about this?" Dennis avoided her gaze, sat on the nearby couch, and then stared at her, "You've gained weight recently."

"I'll start fasting immediately," Victoria responded promptly.

"No, I think you should just eat properly." Dennis looked a bit troubled.

"Mr. Barnes, why have you changed so much recently?" Victoria asked him, puzzled.

"Changed how?"

"Not proactive at all," Victoria said.

Dennis was speechless.

"You weren't like this before. You were always busy and supervising me."

"You're different now. You're Mrs. Harrington now. Your husband could ruin me at any moment," Dennis had to speak to her in a roundabout way.

"He won't interfere with my work," Victoria said.

Dennis smiled helplessly.

With his experience, Victoria clearly didn't understand Alexander's importance in her life.

"You don't believe me?" Victoria looked at him, disappointed.

The sense of not being trusted weighed heavily upon Victoria, making her feel as though her earnestness and sincerity held no significance.

"Have you thought about having a child while you're still young?" Dennis asked.

"What?" Victoria was puzzled.

"Wasn't there a rumor recently that you were infertile? Don't you want to dispel that rumor?"

Victoria fell silent.

If she didn't realize by now that Dennis had been bribed by Alexander, she would be a fool.

She even suspected that Alexander's promise of letting her film in half a month was a lie.

Victoria walked out of the office building, looked down at her flat stomach, and couldn't help but feel puzzled.

Why did everyone seem to know her better than she knew herself?

Suddenly, her phone rang. She looked at it and saw it was Eloise, so she answered, "Hello, Grandma."

"What are you doing? Your grandpa wants you to come home and paint with him. Can you come back?" Eloise asked.

"I'll be right back," Victoria replied.

Frank pulled the car up next to her. She got in and said, "To the Harrington Mansion."

She had promised Brett to paint with him a while ago, and it was time to fulfill that promise.

However, shortly after the car started, Frank said, "We're being followed."
