Chapter 505 Convince Me
Victoria was so nervous that she choked on a sip of water.
Alexander patted her back for a long time, and she finally looked up with teary eyes and explained, "Patting the back doesn't seem to help."
Her voice was soft and delicate, easily leading to misunderstandings.
Alexander asked, "Do you mean I can touch the front?"
He lowered his head, suddenly recalling James saying Victoria's chest was too small.
There were rumors online that a girl's chest size could increase with the help of a partner.
Victoria was embarrassed.
The atmosphere in the kitchen became increasingly vague.
The two stood there pretending to be serious for a long time, then Alexander asked, "Upstairs?"
"Okay," Victoria agreed softly.
This time they agreed instantly, turned around, and bumped into each other. Then they turned around again, silently avoiding each other. Even when they went upstairs, they kept several steps apart.
"I'll wash up next door." After going upstairs, Alexander didn't go back to his room but threw out a sentence and ran off.
Victoria stood at the door, gently stroking the door frame, watching him disappear behind the door of the guest room next door. She couldn't help but laugh, but quickly held it back.
She had to be careful not to be too happy too soon.
Alexander had said he wanted to pursue her.
She believed this time it must be true.
Alexander had already arranged for someone to take care of Isabella's house. Tonight, Victoria and Olivia saw Naomi leave with a suitcase.
Victoria never really saw Isabella as a rival.
She just found Isabella annoying, tired of her pretending to be close to Alexander in front of her, and Isabella even wanted to get rid of her.
Victoria's parents had both passed away, so she was now carrying the hopes of three people while they were alive.
She wouldn't be so easily removed by Isabella, and she definitely would fight back.
She didn't think it was excessive to ask Alexander to drive Isabella away. After all, it was Alexander's property.
Later, Victoria went to take a shower, and as she washed, her mind went blank, focusing only on getting herself clean.
The room was dimly lit by a floor lamp by the window, somewhat dark and...
When Victoria came out, she saw Alexander lying on the bed pretending to read a book seriously.
He was wearing short-sleeved pajamas and long pants, very ordinary clothes, but they looked particularly sexy on him.
Victoria felt he was testing her all the time.
She stood at the foot of the bed and said, "Alexander."
"What's up?" Alexander looked up at her with a pretense of seriousness, then lowered his head again.
In fact, he was paying attention to her every move, even noticing what she was wearing.
She was still in long sleeves and pants, conservatively dressed as if guarding against a lecher.
He was unhappy about this.
"You said you wanted to pursue me?" Victoria tentatively, softly confirmed with him.
Of course, it wasn't just to confirm, but for the next sentence.
Alexander finally looked up to meet her eyes.
After a few seconds, he asked, "What do you want to say?"
'Good. He finally asked,' Victoria thought. She slowly walked to his side, stood there, smiled ingratiatingly, and softly asked him, "Should you be sincere to pursue me?"
"Although I'm pursuing you, we are husband and wife, so it's different from ordinary courtship," Alexander patiently explained like a parent to a child.
"What?" Victoria's face immediately showed displeasure.
Alexander found her expression particularly amusing, even though she wouldn't immediately give herself to him.
"We should sleep in the same bed and under the same blanket," Alexander said as he raised his hand, held her wrist, and gently pulled her onto the bed, then leaned over and lifted her legs onto the bed.
Victoria blushed immediately when his hair brushed against her chest, and she became even more nervous when he held her legs, almost unable to breathe.
This was too vague.
"You should give me room to negotiate," Victoria said softly, leaning back to keep some distance between them.
Alexander sat back, looked at her, and asked, "Go ahead."
Victoria continued, "At least we can have two blankets."
Alexander's eyes were full of tolerance as he said, "Convince me."
Victoria replied, "Because you haven't passed the test yet."
Alexander was confused. "What?"
"You haven't won me over yet." When Victoria said this, she was a bit unsure, biting her lip.
She rarely acted so coyly, but Alexander frowned deeply at the sight.
Victoria mustered the courage to look at him, then became scared.
She thought, 'Is he angry again?'
Just as Victoria was about to explain further, her cheek was cupped, her vision blurred, and her breath was taken away.
She was kissed again.
His thin lips dominantly enveloped hers, kissing her bit by bit.
It wasn't the usual domineering kiss when he was angry. This time, there was something else she didn't understand.
At this moment, Alexander was just trying to restrain himself.
His mind was full of her alluring body and soft moans, and...
Even with his eyes closed, he could picture her undressed.
He knew he would go crazy if he held back any longer.
But recalling how she had made excuses to avoid sleeping over since that night, and even stopped going to Rockland Street, he didn't dare to act rashly.
She even dared to deceive Eloise and refuse her, which was impossible before.
He somewhat regretted introducing Olivia to her. Thinking of Olivia, he finally stopped kissing, looked at Victoria lying on the bed, and asked, "Have you been up to something lately?"
"What?" Victoria was dazed from the kiss, too oxygen-deprived to think.
Alexander looked at the pink on her face, suddenly stopped questioning, smiled, and kissed her again.
Everything could wait.
The night was still long.
And this light rain seemed like it would last a long time.
When Alexander was almost suffocating from the kiss, he finally stopped after a last peck on her lips, then gently touched the corner of her mouth and asked, "What have you and Olivia been doing together?"
"Nothing at all," Victoria said hesitantly.
"You know it. If it's something inappropriate, no matter how long you plot, I will suppress it."
Victoria immediately said, "We're not plotting to run away."
Alexander couldn't help but stare at her, using his eyes to continue pressuring her.
"Alright, we started a media company. I told you that I would resign," Victoria said softly, just stating the fact, without anger or irrationality.
Alexander understood her determination, holding her in his arms, softly asked, "You're doing so well. Why give up?"
"It's not appropriate." Victoria lowered her eyes, speaking after serious consideration.
"Convince me," Alexander said. He knew it was a matter of time, and he would eventually have to let her leave that position.
"What do you mean?" Victoria was stunned.
She wondered, 'Is he subtly hinting for me to seduce him? With my petite figure, that seems unlikely.'
