Chapter 864 Alexander, Goodbye
Alexander ate his meal with gentlemanly elegance.
Victoria kept her head down, eating the food he had put in her bowl. She couldn't tell if his words were polite or just a formality, but she was worried he might see through her desire to escape.
Olivia and Edward, however, looked at them with some confusion, momentarily forgetting to eat.
They couldn't understand why Victoria and Alexander were so polite that they seemed distant.
But they used to be so close.
After the four of them finished eating, Alexander leaned back in his chair and took Victoria's hand, placing it on his thigh with a casual yet commanding presence. He looked up at Olivia, "I want to take Victoria to the island for a vacation."
Olivia looked at Alexander in confusion.
Alexander remained polite and continued seriously, "I heard you wanted to travel with her and take Strawberry along. I think you should go another time."
"Okay."
Hearing the mention of taking Strawberry, Olivia felt something was off, but she thought that if Victoria had said so, there must be a reason. So she didn't ask further and just agreed with Alexander.
But now she didn't know how Victoria would feel. She looked at Victoria, who seemed very uneasy.
Edward also felt that Victoria was hiding something and then looked at Alexander, "They were only going to be gone for two days."
"The break isn't that long anyway."
Alexander said with a smile, but his gaze at Edward was as sharp as a knife.
Edward met Alexander's gaze, then immediately nodded in agreement, "That's true."
On the way home, Alexander asked Victoria while driving, "Are you upset?"
Victoria looked out the window, noticing they weren't heading towards Rockland Street. Instead of answering, she asked, "Can you pull over and drop me off by the roadside?"
Alexander then glanced at her, knowing she didn't want to go back to Serenade Villa with him, and he said, "I refuse."
Victoria's heart tightened, and she turned to look at him, "I want to go back to Rockland Street."
"Strawberry is at Serenade Villa."
Alexander explained calmly.
With that one sentence, he successfully restrained her.
Victoria said nothing more and let him take her to Serenade Villa.
Strawberry was indeed there, already asleep under the nanny's care.
When Victoria entered the children's room, Alexander followed her in. They stood quietly by the crib, watching the sleeping Strawberry. Victoria then felt her shoulder being held.
Alexander looked at Strawberry but couldn't help but embrace Victoria beside him.
This was the result of their first love. Would they have a second?
Alexander turned to look at Victoria.
"Victoria."
As soon as they left the children's room, he spoke softly.
The entire hallway suddenly fell silent.
Victoria didn't turn around, unconsciously tensing her body.
Alexander's thin lips moved slightly, but he just walked up behind her and encircled her in his arms lightly and quietly.
Victoria wanted to say something, but she just let him hold her.
Not long after, she felt a coolness on her neck as his thin lips touched there. In an instant, she was lifted off the ground.
She felt a sense of crisis, fearing he might throw her out, but fortunately, he just carried her in his arms and walked back to his room with his long strides.
When the door closed, Victoria softly said, "You just made love to me last night."
"But I wish I could make love to you until I die." He said.
Alexander was like someone with an insatiable desire.
But in reality, he had excellent self-control.
Victoria looked at him without saying, just thinking to herself. If she went along with him like this, would he think she wanted to start over with him and then let his guard down?
After washing up, they lay in bed. She had her back to him, but after he turned off the light, she softly called him, "Alexander."
"What is it?"
Alexander moved closer, holding her from behind.
Victoria smelled his familiar male scent and then said, "Just let us go out for a bit."
"For how long?"
Alexander took ten seconds before asking her back.
"Just a day or two."
"Why?"
Alexander needed a reason.
Victoria thought for a moment and then continued, "Otherwise, they will think you are holding me back, that I am just your pet."
"If one of us were a pet, I would hope it was me."
Alexander turned her around, pressing his forehead against hers and murmuring.
Victoria breathed weakly and softly said, "Then let me go out for a bit."
"Are you planning to escape?"
Alexander murmured, asking her.
A sudden chill crept into the night.
She controlled her breathing and, after a long time, softly said, "Of course not, I can't escape, I don't want to escape."
She tried hard to make herself seem obedient.
Alexander choked up and, after her words, gave a helpless smile, "You make me feel so despicable."
"Then do you agree?"
"Only if you beg me."
"I beg you."
She almost didn't hesitate, her voice gentle and weak.
Alexander reminded her, "Not like that."
Victoria immediately raised her hand to hook around his neck and then kissed him.
After just a few kisses, Alexander suddenly pinned her down and looked straight at her.
Even though it was dark all around, it seemed like they could peer into one other's souls.
Both were resisting.
Neither wanted to be seen through.
Just when Victoria thought he would stop, he suddenly leaned over and made love to her intensely.
How could he stop?
In the early morning, Victoria sent a message to Olivia, saying she wanted to take Strawberry out to play.
Later, Victoria forced herself to sleep, but Alexander beside her didn't fall asleep for a long time.
Alexander's eyes remained open, watching the sleeping Victoria in front of him.
He only hoped she wasn't planning to escape.
The next morning.
When Victoria woke, Alexander was asleep, but she saw that the sun was coming up, so she immediately and quietly got out of bed.
She didn't pack any luggage, just found a bag to put in documents and some essentials, most of which were for Strawberry.
A backpack was packed to the brim.
She thought it best to leave before he woke up.
After all, he had agreed last night.
Victoria dressed in casual clothing, put on her sneakers, and was about to find a shawl. When she opened the closet, her heart skipped a beat.
She saw that expensive wedding dress again, and memories flooded back.
They should just part ways.
Let all the things fade away like a dream.
She felt a pang of sadness but quickly lowered her eyes, took a shawl, wrapped it around her neck, and then left with her head down.
At the door, she gently opened it, pausing there with her hand tightly gripping the doorknob.
She wanted to look back at Alexander one more time.
But she was afraid of waking him and delaying her departure.
Victoria didn't look back, gently closing the door behind her as she left.
In her heart, she quietly thought, 'Alexander, goodbye.'
She hoped that in the future, they would each be well.
Strawberry would come back to see him if he cared about Strawberry in the future.
