Chapter 510 Husband and Wife Quarrel

As soon as Victoria asked, Alexander's grip tightened.

"Don't move," Alexander ordered.

"It hurts," Victoria whispered.

She thought, 'He was just being gentle.'

"Let it hurt," Alexander replied.

Victoria lowered her eyes, thinking, 'He's angry because he cares. I just lack confidence.'

Alexander finished applying the ointment and left.

Victoria's heart sank. 'Is he really that mad? Why won't he just tell me?'

She slipped on her slippers and followed Alexander, calling out to him.

Alexander was washing his hands in the bathroom, not even glancing at her, though he felt her arm touch his.

"So who are you mad at for getting hit?" Victoria asked again.

Alexander frowned, finished washing his hands, dried them, and turned to leave.

Not hearing his answer, Victoria kept following him.

"Alexander, tell me," she pleaded.

"I have nothing to say to an idiot," Alexander said, heading upstairs.

"Are you calling me an idiot again?" Victoria asked, trailing behind.

Alexander just sneered.

Victoria stopped, unhappy, but couldn't help watching his retreating figure. 'Alexander is really determined,' she thought.

Her phone rang. She saw it was Adrian and hesitated, unsure whether to answer.

Given her current situation with Alexander, talking to Adrian this late wouldn't be good.

She didn't answer but listened to the ringing.

Alexander glanced down from upstairs and saw her upset expression, which irritated him more. He turned and walked to the room.

Victoria sat frozen on the sofa, thinking, 'Why would Adrian like me? Aren't we just good friends? We always get along and can easily continue each other's conversations. Even though I don't know I'm his sister-in-law, he does. I only told him about my marriage before.'

She felt sad. If she kept up her friendship with Adrian, he might get too involved, and Alexander wouldn't be happy.

Their relationship was too complicated.

If it got out and was misunderstood, she'd get all the blame.

Victoria's mind went blank as she leaned against the side, lost in thought.

When Alexander came out of the bathroom after his shower and saw the empty bed, he had a bad feeling and quickly ran out.

Seeing Victoria still sitting there, looking dazed, he quietly sighed in relief and called from upstairs, "Victoria."

She didn't hear him.

"Victoria?" he repeated.

Victoria turned her head, looking up at Alexander. Her long eyelashes fluttered. After a few seconds, she came to her senses and said, "I'm here."

"Are you planning to sleep there?" Alexander asked.

Victoria thought for two seconds then said, "No."

Alexander felt angry and turned back to the room.

Noticing he had finished his shower, Victoria quickly followed.

But at the door, she hesitated and peeked inside, seeing Alexander leaning against the headboard with his phone, not knowing what he was looking at.

Actually, Alexander wasn't looking at anything. His mind was blank with anger.

"Tonight..." Victoria started cautiously.

"Get out," Alexander suddenly shouted.

Victoria was stunned, then quickly lowered her eyes and asked, "Should I go to the guest room or Rockland Street?"

'Rockland Street?' Alexander thought.

"Whatever," he replied, then lay down and turned off the light.

Victoria sighed and headed to the guest room, knowing that Rockland Street was too far to walk and she lacked transportation.

She suddenly thought, 'I should buy a car.'

After her shower, Victoria lay in bed and started browsing cars online.

It didn't need to be too expensive, just cute and delicate.

She really liked those cute things.

She completely forgot about Alexander, thinking sleeping separately was fine. She could roll around as she pleased and think about things without worrying about sex.

So she was quite happy for the moment.

Next door, Alexander glanced at his phone and saw it was already past eleven.

He knew Victoria hadn't left as his internet-connected phone would alert him to Victoria's continued presence.

She was in the next room, and she didn't come to find him.

He had assumed his nightly cuddle buddy was hopelessly attached to his bed, but it it seemed he was wrong.

In the end, he couldn't hold back and suddenly sat up.

Victoria was still seriously looking at car features. Even though she didn't understand much or care much, she needed to know the basics.

"Are you buying a car?" A sudden voice from behind.

Victoria quickly turned around, her heart pounding when she saw who it was.

Alexander's gaze moved from her phone to her face, and he asked, "Surprised to see me?"

At this moment, he was clearly not as angry as before, his voice much calmer.

"You... Weren't you going to sleep alone?" Victoria asked, puzzled.

She thought he had already gone to sleep.

Alexander replied, "I'm going to sleep next to you now."

"If you don't mind, it's fine." Victoria thought for two seconds, then moved over.

'Mind?' Alexander was actually furious.

Victoria completely didn't understand him.

However, despite his anger, he still sat on the bed and quickly got into her bed.

Alexander's body hair was long and stiff, and when it touched Victoria's leg, she reflexively flinched.

Alexander quickly turned to look at her and asked, "What are you flinching for?"

"Nothing. I'm just not used to it." Victoria glanced at him and quickly lowered her eyes.

The room wasn't lit, but there was a wall light outside, so they could somewhat see each other's expressions.

Victoria lowered her eyes, thought for a few seconds, then immediately lay down. "Goodnight."

Alexander suddenly asked, "Why didn't you leave?"

Victoria was puzzled, turning to look at him and asking, "Do you want me to leave?"

"Yes, I want you to leave," Alexander said coldly, looking down at her.

Victoria felt a pang in her heart but still sat up. "Then I'll leave."

It was really cold outside.

If she left, he would definitely bring her back another day.

But now she didn't dare to defy him.

Seeing that she was really going to leave, Alexander couldn't help but turn his eyes to her, threatening, "Victoria, don't go too far."

"What did I do wrong?" Victoria didn't understand what he meant at all.

She was ready to leave. Wasn't that good enough? Why was he so fierce?

Alexander wanted to scold her harshly, but after thinking about it, he held back.

Then he heard her say in a low, aggrieved voice, "I'll leave. I'll call a cab myself. You don't need to ask Mark."

Alexander turned to see Victoria about to stand up. Without thinking, he quickly grabbed her hand.

She was about to stand up but was pulled down by his strong grip, ending up on one knee, facing him.

Alexander instinctively looked at her posture and suddenly felt much better.

She looked a bit like...

Nowadays many girls boldly proposed to the boys they like.

Although Alexander didn't quite agree with women taking men's roles, it was undoubtedly a recognition of men.

Victoria mumbled, "Mr. Harrington, any other orders?"

Alexander shouted, "How can you be so stupid?"

Victoria said, "Alexander, don't push me too far."
