Chapter 627 Surprise Inspection
"How can you talk like that? How am I old?" Naomi asked Eloise indignantly.
"Could it be that you're really here for infertility treatment?" Victoria joined in, looking at Naomi's anxious expression.
"You have no idea. This woman has had countless miscarriages. She finally managed to have Isabella and then couldn't have any more children. She took so many medications back then and still couldn't conceive. Does she think she can have another child at her age?" Eloise immediately added.
"So there's such a story. But now that Mr. Montgomery is in jail, how can she have a child?" Victoria asked sincerely, her big eyes full of curiosity.
"You..." Naomi, furious, turned to press the elevator button and got out without caring which floor it was.
In the elevator, Eloise and Victoria couldn't help but laugh. After a high-five, Eloise said happily, "We really are the best partners."
"Of course, you and I are perfectly in sync," Victoria said, holding her arm.
"Don't let Alexander hear that, or he'll get jealous," Eloise whispered immediately.
"We won't tell him." Victoria looked at Eloise's happy face and felt genuinely happy.
"But Grandma, are we really here for infertility treatment?" Victoria asked curiously.
"What infertility treatment? You two are so young. The best doctor in the hospital has just returned from a business trip. Let him help you with your health," Eloise said.
"Oh, but I'm actually quite healthy," Victoria replied.
And she really didn't want to take any medicine.
"That's even better. Just do whatever he says."
"Okay," Victoria agreed.
With bodyguards following them, they went to the doctor's office for a consultation.
Upon exiting the office, Eloise appeared unhappy. "What best doctor in Ankenra City? I think he's just a quack."
"Grandma, this means I'm healthy. Don't worry," Victoria comforted her.
"With your petite frame, having a baby would be exhausting."
"Then, I'll eat more at each meal?" Victoria understood her concern and said to reassure her.
"Really?" Eloise looked at her skeptically.
"Really." Victoria smiled and agreed.
"That's great. Come on, I'll take you to rest," Eloise smiled and said.
"Okay." Victoria agreed, and they got into the car again.
As the car drove, Victoria asked in confusion, "Grandma, are we going to the Harrington Group?"
"Yes, Alexander's office is quite cozy."
"But he's working."
"This is a surprise inspection. You should do this more often." Eloise patted her hand and explained.
"Okay." Victoria found Eloise really cute after hearing her words.
If Alexander needed her to watch him all day, it would be really boring.
As they ascended the stairs, Janaye promptly rose from her seat. "Welcome, Mrs. Eloise Harrington and Mrs. Victoria Harrington," she greeted them graciously.
Janaye was still not used to calling Victoria "Mrs. Harrington." Victoria smiled at her and then felt a bit emotional looking at her seat.
"Is he busy?" Victoria asked.
"He's meeting a guest."
"Which guest?" Eloise asked immediately.
"Mr. Bryant and his daughter are inside."
"Which Mr. Bryant? I'll go see."
Eloise frowned, wondering what these old guys were doing bringing their daughters here. Curiosity piqued, she decided to go inside and find out for herself.
Victoria saw Eloise heading inside and quickly pulled her back, "Grandma, let's wait until he's done. I'll make you a cup of coffee in the reception room, okay?"
"No." Eloise held her hand and walked to the office door, calling to Janaye, who was standing dazedly in the distance, "You, come knock on the door."
"Yes."
Janaye ran over and knocked on the door. "Sir, Mrs. Eloise Harrington and Mrs. Victoria Harrington are here."
Alexander, sitting on the couch with the father and daughter, smiled immediately, "Please wait a moment."
He got up and walked to the door. Daisy Bryant, looking at his tall figure, was almost lost in girlish fantasies, biting her lip to suppress it.
Alexander opened the door and saw the embarrassed and apologetic Victoria behind Eloise.
"What brings you here?" Alexander asked, already supporting Eloise inside but looking at Victoria.
"I took your wife to see a doctor. He said she's pregnant, so take good care of her. Isn't this Jerome and Daisy?" Eloise greeted them as if she had just noticed them.
"Mrs. Eloise Harrington, hello. Long time no see. You look even healthier," Jerome Bryant stood up and said.
Daisy also stood up. "Mrs. Eloise Harrington, hello."
"Hello, Daisy looks quite pretty. Have a seat," Eloise said, sitting in the middle.
Jerome and Daisy sat down again.
Alexander stood by, looking at Victoria with undisguised confusion.
Victoria didn't know what to do. Did Eloise just say she was pregnant?
Seeing Alexander's puzzled look, Victoria sighed softly and whispered, "She's joking."
Alexander frowned but already raised his hand to hold hers and sat down together.
"This is Mr. Bryant, you've seen him before."
"Mr. Bryant, it's been a while." Victoria nodded at Jerome diagonally opposite and then looked at Daisy, "Hello."
"Hello." Daisy greeted politely but couldn't help staring at Victoria, then slowly noticed Victoria's hand being held.
She looked at Alexander's sexy fingers, lost in her daydream, and was snapped out of it when nudged.
Jerome reminded her, "Mrs. Eloise Harrington asked if you have a boyfriend."
"I don't have one yet," Daisy replied immediately.
"Such a pretty girl without a boyfriend? I'll introduce you to someone tomorrow," Eloise said immediately. She hated other women staring at her grandson.
"That's really nice. Thank you," Jerome said again.
"Thank you, Mrs. Eloise Harrington," Daisy was upset but knew she couldn't show it here.
"Recently, some boys have come for arranged marriages, but I think they're not mature enough, so I didn't agree. But the boy from the Sullivan family, I think he's worth considering." Jerome said.
"Sullivan family? That boy is sensible." Eloise nodded seriously.
"Dad, it's the modern age. I'll decide my own marriage," Daisy said fearfully. She didn't want a business marriage unless the person could really captivate her.
Unable to resist, she stole another glance at their hands diagonally opposite. Why was it that Alexander always seemed to be holding Victoria's hand? The question lingered in her mind.
