Chapter 770 Why Are You Blushing Like This Instead of Inviting Me
"This young couple is totally head over heels."
Some folks watching the drama found it pretty entertaining.
While the elders of the Harrington family were scratching their heads, trying to make sense of Alexander and Victoria's public display of affection. Suddenly, a loud thud from behind caught everyone's attention.
When they turned around, they saw Daisy, her face streaked with tears.
Did Alexander really like Victoria that much? That woman who seemed so average and unremarkable? Why would he go out of his way to kiss her?
Didn't he realize Victoria was just playing hard to get, just messing with him?
Daisy couldn't take it anymore. She bolted from the crowd, her emotions in turmoil.
"Daisy!" Ursa called out, immediately chasing after her, worry etched on her face.
Jerome, trying to defuse the situation, quickly said with a smile, "Daisy's potential employer just called to say she didn't get the job, no big deal."
Maximus and Arabella exchanged a glance but didn't say much. When they turned back, they saw Alexander getting slapped.
Arabella was so shocked she covered her mouth.
Maximus was also taken aback. Brett and Eloise, who were chatting with friends, hadn't seen what happened. When they noticed everyone's attention was elsewhere, they turned around and saw Victoria running off.
"What happened? Alexander, go get..." Eloise called out, noticing Victoria looking really upset. She urged Alexander to go after her, but he was already heading for the door.
Victoria had fled to a dark corner of the garden, leaning against the wall for support. Her mind was racing, and she tried to catch her breath. When she heard footsteps, she looked up.
Before she saw him, she noticed his long legs. She couldn't see him clearly; he just stood there silently.
At the Frosty Summit Hotel, he always knew where to find everyone in no time. Even in such a dim spot.
Alexander walked over, saw her slumped over, sighed, and stepped forward.
"Don't touch me!" Victoria shouted, knowing he was going to hold her.
"Did I give you a choice?" Alexander scooped her up just as she was about to push him away.
"You broke your promise," Victoria reminded him, glaring at him while trapped in his arms.
"Didn't I follow your script?" he replied.
Victoria shot back, "Those lines were your addition."
"Can't I thank my wife on such an important day?"
"I'm just your ex-wife," Victoria fumed.
Alexander sneered but didn't argue.
Victoria looked at him, remembered the lawyer's words, and blurted out, "I want to file for divorce again."
"Go ahead, do it if you want," Alexander agreed but walked quickly with his long legs.
Hearing his quick agreement, Victoria wanted to say they should do it tomorrow, but then she remembered the court might be on holiday, so she immediately said, "We'll do it after Christmas."
"Suit yourself," Alexander replied. At the elevator door, he reminded her, "Could you press the button?"
Victoria snapped out of it and turned to press the button.
Alexander carried her into the elevator, and soon they arrived at the presidential suite.
Alexander gently placed her on the wide sofa, handed her a pillow without looking at her, and asked, "Do you want to put this behind your back?"
Victoria looked at the pillow and blushed for no reason. She remembered some things they had done in bed before.
Alexander was also silent for almost half a minute, and some memories suddenly came to mind. After a while, he urged irritably, "Do you want it or not?"
"It's too puffy, it might not be comfortable," Victoria said.
"Didn't it not bother you before?" Alexander said, but he tossed the pillow aside, realizing she didn't need such a puffy pillow right now.
Just then, the nanny came from the inner room and said politely, "Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, Miss Harrington has already gone to bed."
"Thanks, you can go rest now," Alexander, who was kneeling on one knee on the sofa, stood up when he saw the nanny and said lightly.
The nanny left, and Alexander looked down at Victoria, who was turning her head away to avoid eye contact, saying, "I'm staying here tonight."
Victoria looked at him with wide eyes. Why was he staying here?
"Today is Saturday," Alexander said.
"Fine, then I'll leave."
"If you leave, don't come back," Alexander said and walked towards the door.
Victoria slowly sat up, breathing heavily, looking at his cold figure. After he walked away, she muttered, "Jerk!"
Unexpectedly, Alexander seemed to hear her and suddenly turned around.
Victoria's heart skipped a beat, and she saw him walking back towards her with his long legs.
She shrank back in fear, then came to her senses and tried to run, but her legs moved forward while her waist, still in pain, refused to cooperate, causing her to stumble awkwardly.
She looked like an old person, one hand supporting her bent waist, the other making a stop gesture and said, "Alexander, don't mess around, I didn't curse you."
Alexander thought to himself, 'Victoria is really going too far. But she is really stupid. I hadn't said anything, and she had already exposed that she cursed me.'
He stepped forward and said, "You didn't curse me?"
"D-don't come over, I'll call a cab myself," Victoria stammered.
"Who dares to pick you up?"
"Don't, Alexander."
Victoria was suddenly lifted off the ground again. She felt a surge of panic, as if his hands had the power to control her every movement, like a fan's blades spinning relentlessly. It wasn't that he actually spun her, but the grip he had on her made her feel utterly powerless.
"Tonight needs a good ending," Alexander suddenly said.
Victoria instantly quieted down, just staring at him.
"With your physical condition, honestly, who can handle you?" Alexander asked.
"I'll get better," Victoria immediately muttered.
"Of course, you'll marry that doctor, and he'll use you as a human experiment, taking apart your bones and reassembling them."
Victoria didn't know why, but when he said that, she could visualize it.
Alexander sighed silently, "Do you really want to date him?"
After saying that, he glanced at her again and then carried her into the inner room, where Strawberry was lying on a small bed beside the main bed.
The presidential suite actually had a children's bed, and it was a princess bed.
Victoria looked at the small bed and thought it was for Strawberry. As she walked closer, she indeed saw Strawberry lying there.
"How could someone as stubborn as you give birth to such a cute child like Strawberry?" Alexander suddenly said.
Victoria looked at him puzzled, saying, "Then how could someone as domineering as you give birth to such an obedient child like Strawberry?"
"So?" Alexander looked at her.
"She's not your child," said Victoria.
Alexander smiled, then gently placed Victoria on the bed. She had a back injury, so he always had to be careful, afraid of causing her pain.
After being put down, Victoria insisted on not lying down. Alexander looked down at her, knowing she was deliberately avoiding lying down in front of him.
What was she afraid of? What a joke, she was his wife, so what if they were intimate? He wanted real action.
Alexander deliberately leaned in to kiss her, and Victoria instantly leaned back, then, as he wished, lay down on the bed.
Victoria's face immediately turned red, and Alexander smiled even more smugly as he said, "Why did you lie down? Are you inviting me to have sex with you?"
"Who invited you?" Victoria was so shocked she stuttered.
"If you didn't invite me, why are you lying on the bed with a blushing face and those big watery eyes, staring straight at me? Clearly, you're inviting me."
