Chapter 668 If Anyone Is Alerted, the Harringtons Will Die
Isabella was lost in her own world, dreaming about a killer future, when her phone buzzed, yanking her back to reality. She picked up, "What's up?"
"Ms. Montgomery, there's been a change."
Isabella frowned, "What do you mean?"
"Mr. Harrington and that woman are heading abroad."
"Say what?" Isabella's jaw dropped.
"They're already at the airport."
Her mind went into overdrive. She had everything planned out, and now he was jetting off?
It had to be Victoria's idea. Victoria was pregnant, and Alexander was probably tagging along for the kid.
During past holidays, Alexander always hung out with his buddies.
"Stop them," Isabella blurted out.
"Stop them? How? On what grounds?" the voice on the other end questioned.
Isabella's head throbbed. How could she stop them? Was she really going to let Victoria and Alexander go abroad for Christmas? Let Victoria bask in Alexander's affection again?
No. Hell no.
That was her man.
But then, a lightbulb went off. "Isn't Eloise up in the mountains?"
"What do you mean?"
"Kidnap her," Isabella said.
"I'm afraid it's too late."
"Too late?"
"They've already gone in," the voice replied.
Isabella thought, 'How could it be too late? It must still be possible. Tomorrow's Christmas Eve, and they're flying out today. What's the rush?'
She was getting more and more frantic.
When her car pulled up to the hotel, she parked it haphazardly and rushed inside, lifting her skirt as she went.
As she walked in, an announcement was being made.
"Now, on behalf of Mr. Montgomery, I announce that Arthur Montgomery will assume the position of acting chairman starting tomorrow."
"It's my honor." Arthur, looking sharp in a black suit, stood before a bunch of old dudes.
In the front row sat his mom, Faye, dripping in high-end bling.
Did Faye think that made her look classy?
Did she think it could erase the fact that she was a home-wrecking mistress?
Isabella looked at the congratulatory crowd and suddenly realized she had been played by these people.
Isabella turned and walked out.
She was Dorian's real daughter; taking back everything would be a piece of cake.
The top priority now was dealing with Victoria.
She couldn't let Victoria be Alexander's wife for long; that was her spot.
And Victoria even had the nerve to be pregnant with Alexander's kid.
Victoria had used her parents' death to guilt-trip Alexander into marrying her, and then she got pregnant. What was she trying to pull?
Isabella cursed Victoria in her mind, but kept her mouth shut.
Yes, she was a lady from a wealthy family; she had to be classy and proper.
She couldn't use foul language or act like some trashy tramp.
Her life had to be high-end, elegant, and proper. Only such a woman deserved to be a rich wife.
So Isabella walked with her head held high, still looking graceful.
She sensed that the upcoming scene would be very bloody, and it had to be Victoria's blood that was spilled.
After getting off the plane, Victoria and Alexander walked out hand in hand. The hotel staff had been waiting at the airport to give them a warm welcome.
Inside the car, Victoria asked Alexander, "Why do they call you boss?"
Alexander replied, "I just bought a fifty percent stake in this hotel a day ago."
Victoria stared at him, wide-eyed.
"The guy running the place had some health issues," Alexander explained.
"So, you bought it for a high price?" Victoria asked.
"It seems high now, but it won't be for long," Alexander said confidently.
Victoria leaned on his shoulder, feeling reassured as he held her hand. Whatever he said was fine with her.
He had never lost in investments.
After a tiring flight, Victoria fell asleep after a simple night of lovemaking.
The next day, Alexander had a meeting, so Victoria asked the driver to take her home.
As she opened the door, her phone rang just as she was about to step inside.
A voice came through the phone, "Are you going to talk?"
"You might as well kill me; I won't talk."
"Grandma?" Victoria immediately called out, alarmed by the voice.
"Victoria, don't worry about me. Protect your child, you must..." Eloise shouted but gradually fell silent.
"Grandma? Grandma?" Victoria was stunned.
"Victoria, if you want her to live, you'd better come back immediately, or you'll be collecting her body," the person said.
"What have you done to her?" Victoria gripped her phone tightly, questioning. She rarely got so agitated.
"You have fifteen hours. If you don't come back, she'll be dead in fifteen hours."
"Okay, don't hurt her. She has high blood pressure. Take care of her. Give me the address, and I'll be there on time," Victoria said.
"You must come alone. No police, no notifying Alexander, and no telling his family."
"...Okay." Victoria suddenly realized that these people were after her. They knew she was abroad, yet...
Eloise being in the mountains should only be known to the Harrington family. How did the information leak?
She immediately booked a flight and called Alexander.
Alexander was in a meeting, and his phone was in his office.
Victoria left him a message and quickly left the hotel.
Eloise's photo was sent to her phone. Although she was tied up and looked pale, her eyes were wide open, as if she hated the person taking the photo.
Eloise had always lived a pampered life and had never suffered such humiliation.
Before the plane took off, Victoria contacted Frank. Since the photo didn't show the background, there was no way to determine the exact location, so they had to search bit by bit.
Victoria thought through everything on the plane.
Although the caller was a man, was he the mastermind?
First, she ruled out extortion; otherwise, they wouldn't have called her.
She thought and thought, finally concluding that their target was her.
A face suddenly appeared in her mind—Isabella.
After getting off the plane, Victoria immediately called Frank, "Find out where Isabella is first."
Frank replied, "I had someone follow her all night. She was at a senior executive's house in the Montgomery Group and hasn't come out yet."
"What about her mother?" Victoria asked.
Victoria trusted Frank but didn't trust Isabella.
"Her mother? I haven't checked. I'll do it right away."
Frank suddenly felt he had been too negligent and immediately made a call.
After getting off the plane, Victoria received a call from the person, "Hello?"
"Are you back?" the person asked.
"Yes."
"Come to the mountains now."
"The mountains?"
"Victoria, I advise you not to alert anyone else, or the Harrington family will all die. You don't think I'd believe you'd really go alone, do you?"
